That's worrisome. I'm not sure it's a coincidence that the agent with cupid arrow powers is "very good at winning people over".

Sort of? I mean, really, if the kid had any sense he'd be informing Boss Leader that everything's gone to hell. And to be fair, he is kind of reasonable. He's also kind of rebellious and, as demonstrated here, has some sort of emotional center. Something about the events here has caused him to not want to screw with Boss Leader's feelings even though she has spent this entire time screwing around with him and trying to get him on her side of things.

I assumed he would continue to be dismissive, but he has not, which is interesting. And he was defending Spender and naively trying to spare her feelings, which is also interesting. I'm going to reread the past couple of pages and see what caused him to want to make this decision.

Oh, has there been speculation that Boss Leader is just Max's mom as some eccentric ghost? I mean I don't believe it but it sounds like something someone would come up with.

Yup. There were jokes about her use of the word "son" on this page.

I think she might be mourning Max a little bit early.

It'll be interesting to see how isabel develops separate from the spirit she cleaved to so heavily.

First post in this thread to ask something people probably already figured out (and/or thought of);

Anyone know when Max's mother died? I'm not sure if it was mentioned off-handedly or not, but let's think about it like this. One potential way of gaining Spectral powers is a Near-Death Experience as stated on page whatever-i-forget, and in Max's flashback dream of his mom, the place he wants to go which I also forgot is apparently dangerous enough to warrant her to not want him to go without supervision. Now why would such a rather insignificant memory be shown? Perhaps because not only did Max almost die at the place but maybe also his mom did as well?

Coincidence? Maybe! Something somebody else has already stated? Most likely!

But yeah this comic is the shizniz.

Her death is being kept Dramatically Mysterious for now.

I think there was an implication that, assuming she did become a ghost, she might fade to nothing (or pass on to the permanent afterlife or whatever it is ghosts do) before Max can go see her.
