Snowmen seem to be immune to the warmth of the nether, I have a few just strolling around.
Also the snowmen on the ramparts are still operational

I keep getting that Server Did not have a valid key error no matter how many times I try to get on.

Weird, I've had no trouble the last couple days. I don't have time to try it right now though.
You've got some requests for you on the By the way. The Pasture needs another gate that functions like an secondary lock, because pigs keep almost escaping(Me and The farmer noticed this when breeding them), and I need a door. You might have other requests too, that just what I've put in your mailbox.

I have noticed the animals tend to bounce over the fence. I had to build a roof on my animal pen. Also regular doors work better then the fence gates I have noticed. Once I figure out what is going on I will get on and get that going.

Ok, Good. I'm thinking maybe we should just extend the pasture right too the wall, then double or triple up the fence's height on the exposed side. I've helped build small farms against cliffs before to keep the animals in while using less fence, so The town's wall should work the same way.

Or I could just build a barn roof with the height to handle bounding animal lunatics. The more animals in the pen the taller the roof has to be. They can clip through the wall or fence sometimes.

Ok I was able to get on. I have to use default graphics for some reason. Found this through the forum. Works every time.
I got that piston door made. I just have to finish the Dungeon. Connecting all the pistons to one switch was a challenge. But I am happy with the results.
I will get back on and get that carpenter business.

Ok I built a barn over our pasture to keep critters in. I also added a spider climbing prevention ledge to the outside wall.

Not really noticing any issues but I am underground in a well lit work area building my dungeon.

Ok the dungeon is nearly done. I have to finish my decorations and placing sign story boards. I am taking advantage of the monsters being on if I can't get monster spawners.
Unfortunately we have an ender eye glitch because we have 1.8 map. The eyes will not lead you to a stronghold. This is a known bug. I tested it on the map, it just leads you to a underground tunnel. I checked it thoroughly to make sure.

That doesn't sound right at all, but after working the crops, I don't really care.
I decided that the animal choices were less than satisfactory, and went out for wild animals, and boy did I find them.
I also found something very, very interesting, but that comes later.
I managed to lure back to the village a pair of sheep, one which I had shorn earlier, and a pair of cows. They came along quite happily when I waved some grain in front of them.
I also found one of the other eggs I had had hatched, adding another chicken to our merry group. I lead them all to the barn, and now they're quite content to stay in there, so long as we keep them fed.
Now, as for what I found...
I admit it, I tripped on my way down to the river. Fell, shoulder first, right into the sand. But to my astonished, and at the time, itchy eyes (It was sand I fell in...) there was an orb in front of me... it was odd. It was most certainly the first time I had seen something like it. Like the eye of a snake, it was a deep blue on the edges, clear further in, and darkened to a teal color, but not for long, as it then, at the center, is a sort of light green, and the very center is a slit of deep black. I stare into it, and it is like... staring at the end of the world...
I don't know what it is or what its purpose is, but I will call it an Eye of End...
errrr... not what else to say. I hid the eye, but after that, I went to bed. I thought it was well deserved.
yes, I found what I described. Which is odd, I thought they could only be crafted. O_o

Villagers- I have discovered some strange contraction just a mile or so from our town. (925 X, 347 Z, specifically). It seems to be made out of that "red stone" used on the castle's minecart track, some steel bars, and the obsidian that makes up portals. theres also a portal within a stone's throw of the machine. What could this thing's purpose be?
