I'm not a fan of the image, but think it's not bad enough to pull.
Fight smart, not fair.Pokemon examples
Legendary Birds◊ Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza◊ Starters◊ Eeveelutions◊
Probably other good examples. Pokemon has this in spades.
EDIT: Hmm, seems the legendary birds are already on Fire, Ice, Lightning.

Belief or disbelief rests with you.Huh, that image isn't as good as I thought it was when I thought of it.
I could find loads of Magic The Gathering images that are examples, but most of them only show a single elemental, so doesn't seem like there's much point to it.
Rhymes with "Protracted."A collage of different elementals could be an option.
What about a collage of summoned beasts from an RPG or something? Sorry I can't provide any as of now.
The words above are to be read as if they are narrated by Morgan Freeman. How about some World Of Warcraft Elementals? They're pretty self-explanatory.
Here's the most basic of them:
And then there's the new Cataclysm elementals, which are much more detailed:
I like that! Perhaps we should crop them and give it a 2x2 layout?
The words above are to be read as if they are narrated by Morgan Freeman.I swear, I've seen this thread before. 0_o But for some reason, it doesn't pop up on the search engine.
Fight. Struggle. Endure. Suffer. LIVE.Bump...I like the WOW elementals.
Each night, he abandons the trappings of civilization. Each morning, he repairs the front door.I support World Of Warcraft elemental collage.
I reject your requirement for a witty statement or fanboyish squealing in my signature.Should we do the regular elementals or the cataclysm elementals?
Also, here◊ is another nifty little spread of the regulars. Now if only the water elemental wasn't green in this pic...
That looks good, provided it will resize well.
That's more along the lines of what I was thinking of for this trope.
Rhymes with "Protracted."Alternatively we could juxtapose the four elemental versions of Mendhi from Tunak Tunak Tun. (Viewable here.)
EDIT: Like this:

I just fell off my seat.
The words above are to be read as if they are narrated by Morgan Freeman.Do you have a set that's less grainy?
Fight smart, not fair.I would much rather have a nice-looking spread like [1]◊ than a kludged-together collage.
Rhymes with "Protracted."So no Tunak Tunak Tun?
I must agree, the elements lining up nicely like that is preferred over a collage, unless the collage is bordered softly by white/black space.
The words above are to be read as if they are narrated by Morgan Freeman.Seconding Lance Omikron's suggestion (looks pretty nice and understandable) and the Pokémon starters as well (the Eeveelutions doesn't cut it and the Birds are already in use).
Fanfic Recs orwellianretcon'd: cutlocked for committee or for Google? While it's a good image in it's own right, I'm gonna have to disagree with the pokemon starters. In the strictest sense, they're not really elementals. They're animals with Elemental Powers. Closer pokemon-based examples of elementals would be the regi- golems, magcargo, and muk, to name a few. In other words, ones that are clearly made of their respective element(s).
Since somebody suggested the golem trio from Pokemon, here's an okay picture that provides for an easy caption◊ ("Rock, Ice, and Steel obviously weren't good enough names.")
I'd say I still prefer the Warcraft Elementals, since there's one more of them in the group.
Fight. Struggle. Endure. Suffer. LIVE.Don't care for that pic at all.
Crown Description:
Nominations for replacement images:
This is a bad image.
For one thing, the different yetis don't really look like elemental embodiments, just different-colored in an Underground Monkeys sort of way. For another, the elements involved are very silly ones, which is all well and good as just another example, but for the page image it would be nice to have something which is a little more standard.
EDIT: Damn, I broke the automatic trope link.
