[up]I don't think you have to worry about the nostalgia thing. Remember the 80's muisc craze a few years back? Well now that it's subsided I was all HELL YES! BRING ON THE 90'S REVIVAL! Grunge and Rave and Gangsta Rap and G-Funk, this was going to be GLORIOUS! Unfortunately no one seemed to care, and now we've moved back to the 80's, I think. :(

Why does the 90's get no love?

Basically because it wasn't cool unless you were there. And I don't think that the 90s has got that outstanding stereotyped image like the 80s did.

If you go to one 80s party, you've seen them all.

You'd have to go to 4 different 90s parties before you'd start to see patterns emerge, I'd wager.

That's what I loved about the 90's and why I figured it would take off. There was something for everyone...

[up] I loved it too, but, I think that plethora of different things happening pop-culturally is what's keeping it from having a united appeal like the 90s did.

Remember, in the 90s the Internet started coming into widespread public use — people were able to hear about and experience things that weren't just fed to them from the mainstream media. The 90s started the widespread fragmenting of mainstream culture.

Or, at least from a music business prespective, this is what I think.

I'm still waiting for a big-budget developer to make a game with high resolution sprites that use detailed animation. I like sprites as a stylistic choice, but there's no reason why they need to look like they came out of the SNES era.

Yeah, I'd like to see what a designer could do with sprites and the full power of modern consoles.

I miss the days before the whole "casual vs hardcore" BS.

[up][up]Agreed.

Also, I missed the years when Shoot Em Ups were prevalent. At least there are Doujin Shmups and CAVE for now...
