If you could go back in time to change one event in gaming history.,..

...what would you change?

For me I think I'd give the Saturn a more traditional launch instead of the surprise launch it got...

I would make it so that the whole "Nintendo Playstation" thing actually came to fruition, just to see what would have happened. I might come back to the present and find that wish I had left things as they were, but hey, it's for science!

Only 1? I'm not kene on FF 7, but.... I don't vrealkly know. I was thinkign the geat crash, but that allowed Nintendo's rise, which in turn led to Sega creating S Onic.

Making sure New World Computering finished Might And Magic IX, and not gone bankrupt.
Image it: Glorious company making good games with good lore, which was the biggest single game company back in the day would have been here today: to bash on Bethesda and make Heroes XI.

Take a copy of C&C4 along with a file full of reviews and metacritic's overall score of it in order to convince EALA to change their design of the game. Just might work, too...

Change whatever event I need to change to make it much easier for people to make and develop video games. The idea of a homemade video game, or a homemade video game console is very appealing to me.

Sadly I don't think there was any way of avoiding that, Westwood just wasn't getting enough sales back then even despite having a big name franchise like C&C under it's belt...

Better advertising, perhaps?

Warn Infinity Ward that Activision was going to screw them over on Call Of Duty, then have them go off and form their own studio, or at least negotiate a contract with someone else.

Perhaps fix the internal politics of Rare so that they wouldn't lose any staff, continue to make great games and Nintendo would be inclined to keep them rather than sell them to Microsoft?
