BEFORE I EVEN CLICKED ON THE FUCKER!
Seriously, you and Bobby G should marry or something. :P
It's not exactly naive. And it can happen. But it's tough. And definetly worthwhile. We should, shouldn't we?
Classic: BAKER BITCHES
New: Matt Smith AKA The Man Everyone Is GAR For.
My name is Cu Chulainn. Beside the raging sea I am left to moan. Sorrow I am, for I brought down my only son.JUST ANOTHER FAN HERE.
Classic: BAKER OBVIOUSLY. New: TENNANT AAAAND SMITH. BOTH ARE SEXY SEXY MEN. ALSO ECCLESTON.
I love this show to pieces.
Writing a story is like building a creature from the bones up...except you have no idea what it's supposed to look like. Not to sound like a prick or anything, but there was more than one Baker! I like them both, but 1st Baker INFINITELY more. And for New Doctor, Tennant, of course!
Slight De-rail here... Friends, Tropers, Whovians, lend me your ears! I will be going on a trip to the U.K. this summer and I don't believe it will be complete unless I can hug a Dalek and get a photo of it! I have 2 questions: A) Will be be possible to achieve this and B) If so, where?!
I am a Whovian! My favorite Classic Doctor is the awesomeness that is William Hartnell - for new series, it'll have to be Matt Smith. Not 'cos I'm in love with him or anything. That'd just be stupid.
Sakan4k, if you can go to the Doctor Who Experience, there may be huggable Daleks there. You may not be able to though, it looks like you have to book in advance.
One day I will rule the world. Until then, I plot your demise.Doesn't this thread go in TV?
I'm convinced that our modern day analogues to ancient scholars are comedians. -0dd1My experience with classic Who includes The Three Doctors, The Five Doctors, and the first serial, but I like Peter Davison the best.
Fresh-eyed movie blogDon't you mean "Who-ligans"?
He who fights bronies should see to itthat he himself does not become a brony. And if you gaze for long into an abyss, Pinkie Pie gazes AlsoOH MY GOD, SILI. THANK YOUUUUUUUUUU <3
Baker was the Doctor.
I still maintain that Smith may surpass him if he tries hard enough. The fact that he's relatively young for the role, yet nails it says something about him.
It's not exactly naive. And it can happen. But it's tough. And definetly worthwhile. What he said.
But no Nine love? Blasphemy!

I started with Christopher Eccleston. He's perhaps the slowest I've warmed up to a Doctor (though that dubious distinction may belong to #3), but by the end of his run I didn't want to see him go. That passed quickly. Same with Tennant, but faster on both ends.
I have this beautiful concept in my head that I will never have the talent, time, or resources to realize. Listen to The Doctor's Theme from Series 5 (reboot) and tell me it doesn't sound like a Ballroom dance of some sort, especially in the coda at 2:28.
When I listen to it, I have a half-formed fast-paced choreographic routine for video in my head where the Doctor goes through all his regenerations (or at least, for time and familiarity, the Ninth, Tenth, and Eleventh) and has a portion of a dance with all of his Companions.
For example: the Ninth dances with Rose for a bit, at a certain point the camera cuts and he's now the Tenth. The dance continues, until Rose drifts off into the background and Martha spins into his arms. Then she exits and Donna enters. In a big swell of the music and an overhead shot, all of the characters reprised for Journey's End dance in a cloud around him. Then they all vanish in a cut to a new angle, and Smith stands alone, soon joined by Amy and then Rory. River's probably there too at some point.
The more I put it into words, the sillier it sounds. But it's epic in my head.
Fresh-eyed movie blogIt was very saddening to see 9th Doc go. I was very fond of him. He was tough on humans, but still a bit of a dork.
Just gonna throw it out there, my favorite classic is probably William Hartnell. New is definitely David Tennant, though I haven't seen any of the Smith episodes yet. Tom Baker (of course!) gets a mention, and so does Patrick Troughton. Partly because the Second Doctor has some of my favorite companions.
Let God do His work, we will see to ours. Bring in the candles.BAKER WAS EVERYTHING THE DOCTOR SHOULD BE. HE WAS AFFABLE, CRAZY, AND FUNNY. YOU CANNOT COMPETE.
....which is exactly how I explained it to my friends who've never seen Classic Doctor Who. As much as I may like others, Tom Baker really established himself as the Doctor.
Let God do His work, we will see to ours. Bring in the candles.YMMV
He who fights bronies should see to itthat he himself does not become a brony. And if you gaze for long into an abyss, Pinkie Pie gazes AlsoAssuredly. That's just my opinion. I also happen to think Tennant was very Doctor-y.
Let God do His work, we will see to ours. Bring in the candles. He was. He had many of the doctor traits I thought he was the Doctor till Series 4.

Affable, funny, and crazy? That's David Tennant, isn't it?
Fresh-eyed movie blogSmith too.
He who fights bronies should see to itthat he himself does not become a brony. And if you gaze for long into an abyss, Pinkie Pie gazes AlsoNinth too. I mean, just look at that big goofy smile he has! I mean, whenever Nine smiled the world became a much better place. He was my first doctor and I wouldn't have it any other way.
It's not exactly naive. And it can happen. But it's tough. And definetly worthwhile.
This is for all of you Doctor Who fans out there.
So, who was your favorite Classic Series Doctor?
