OK, one story I thought up:

A soul-eating demon (for whom certain metals serve as a Kryptonite Factor) posing as a human gets hit by a car and impaled by something metal. This one guy stops and helps the demon, pulling the metal thing out, and the demon teleports away to feed. However, as he's trying to suck some person's soul out, he gets caught by a police officer who thinks he's doing an assault. The demon gets into an altercation with the cop and gets shot, then flees in terror.

Wounded, the demon decides to seek out the guy that helped him, so he stumbles to the guy's house and collapses on his doorstep. The guy finds him there, and the demon begs him to remove the bullet, then faints. The guy tries to remove the bullet but the demon's Healing Factor interferes, so the guy decides that it's probably better to just leave it in there. For several days the demon is in/out of consciousness, meanwhile draining at the guy's soul to sustain himself. Unfortunately (or fortunately), the bullet is screwing up his digestion, causing aspects of the guy's soul to 'leak' into the demon's self.

Finally the demon recovers, drains the guy completely (which kills him), and then starts feeling guilty about killing this guy. So he goes off to the demon market to buy a magical sword and gets some illegal modifications on it so that it acts like a 'pseudo-soul'. He takes it to this guy and uses it to revive him, so now this guy is alive but only while touching the magical sword. Meanwhile the demon police caught the demon modifying the sword and are hunting for him to punish him and destroy the sword.

My two questions are:

a) what kind of car accident would cause a pedestrian to be impaled like that, and would the driver be too injured to provide first aid? (If so, I'll make the guy a passerby and have him try to help the driver too.)

b) should the story be written from the demon's perspective, the guy's, or alternating?

If I'm asking for advice on a story idea, don't tell me it can't be done.

As for a car accident that would impale someone, something would probably have to pop off of the car first, like the grill, for instance if it and the rest of that car happened to be really, really shitty. That, or some kind of a modification or design implement that juts off the car, like those tail fins on retro cars, could've stabbed him. Those are the only two things I can come up with right now, but I don't really know how else it would work.

As for viewpoint characters, think about who would be able to tell the story best and what you want the reader to know when. Just because a character is unique does not necessarily mean that they will make a good narrator. For instance, I'm planning on having my own story jump viewpoint characters because using a certain character as the viewpoint at a certain point will give away the entire plot, or in the case of the last narrator, all of the previous narrators have died. Try reading Limyaael's rant on Deciding On Your Viewpoint Character for some more suggestions.

Here's what I figured out for the car accident:

A guy is driving a truck with a whole bunch of musical instruments in the back. He hits a bump and a saxophone comes flying off the back of the truck and impales the demon. The driver doesn't even notice and continues on, meanwhile a passerby stops to help the demon.

If I'm asking for advice on a story idea, don't tell me it can't be done.

Pick-up truck with a load of pipes or scrap metal or tools or ladders or something in the back. Improperly secured.

Theres sex and death and human grime in monochrome for one thin dime and at least the trains all run on time but they dont go anywhere.
