I don't mind super forms, but one for every character seems excessive. Like what would Rouge and Vector do?
Well, why would only half get it. And it's more or less like Power Stone, basically a "Final Smash" form for a temporary moment.
But yeah, I get what you mean. For those who can't, some kind of OP power move would work.
Quest 64 threadHopefully, when the all Sonic 4 episodes are released, the remake all of them so that they all share the same physics, mechanics, and graphical engine. The fact that they're pretty much making it up as they go instead of planning the whole thing out in advance is making the game look like a series of small games instead of one big, fluid experience.
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page.So everyone who's putting up vids of the PSN SA:2 is only doing story mode.
I want someone to show off the (non-DLC) multiplayer! I need to know if I want this game!
It and Ni GHTS come out for XBLA when?
This is pretty funny. (skip to the part about Shadow)
And to think Sonic was well-loved because he was cool. Apparently that wasn't enough, so they put in Shadow.
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page.Somehow Shadow managed to become the 2nd most popular Sonic character besides Sonic himself. The only time I really like Shadow is in Sonic (2006) but that got erased along with Amy's actions. Eh...
So anyways Sonic and All Stars Racing is coming out the same day as New Super Mario Bros. U and the Wii U. It's not on a Tuesday probably because it's a spin off title. Since 2005 I believe that Shadow the Hedgehog, Sonic 06, Unleashed, Colors, and Generations were all released on a Tuesday. Kind of like how Pokemon games are released on a Sunday like Black 2 and White 2 on this 7th.
"Of course you do realize, this means war!" -Bugs Bunny@miru: Might have.
I kinda thought Shadow was bland in 2006, then again many characters were. It seems kind of superfluous making an Evil Counterpart of the main character and turning him good.

I once had a vision of Espio committing seppuku. I am a horrible person.
"i'm like the pimpmaster hustledaddy of all snippy bookshrews" -Dave Strider... Espio's a ninja, not a samurai.
Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows. Then again, they did exactly that the right way in Kid Icarus Uprising.
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page.Seppuku ain't just exclusive to samurai.
Lampshade Hanging: It's a lifestyle.Shadow being popular is no surprise at all, he was basically the Vegeta to Sonic's Goku. And Vegeta is mad popular.
I thought that was Knuckles.
I know that some of it was based upon DBZ(super forms especially). Sonic is clearly Goku. Chichi is Amy. Knuckles and Shadow could both be Vegeta, really. Silver is Trunks.
Cream is probably Bulma. The E-Series could be based somewhat on the idea of the Androids.(which also include human qualities to an extent, and I don't mean body-wise)
One thing is that Eggman, I don't think he had a basis. But if you take a look at the ridiculous amount of power struggles and "strong final villains keep appearing, but only one stays", it has some similarities to DBZ. Mainly what I said, but I could attribute Eggman to Buu as he just never dies. And is sometimes good. I know there's also Hercule, but he's more or less a good guy that had an annoying ego.
Obviously Tails is Krillin. Metal Sonic and his variations and teammates(Tails Doll and Mecha Knuckles) could be based slightly off of the Ginyu Force, or atleast the Dragon combination like they were overall. As for guys like Orbot, etc., that's clearly Frieza's random generals.
Quest 64 threadI thought Metal Sonic was Cell.
I'd say Chaos fits him better, really. He's the only one to directly collect a Person/Item to become stronger with multiple levels.
All of Metal Sonic's forms(not to be confused with Mecha Sonic, a different one) span multiple games. Chaos' is done in one game. Chaos Zero, 2, 4, 6, Perfect. Now look at Cell. Starts off, after hatching, as a insect like creature. Then changes to Imperfect Cell, Imperfect Cell 2, Perfect Cell.
The name is a pretty big coincidence if Metal Sonic is based upon Cell. Then again, perhaps both are, just different aspects? Metal Sonic on the gathering energy, and Chaos on the transformations?
Quest 64 threadSonic = Goku, Knuckles = piccolo, Shadow = Vegeta, Silver = Trunks
Ah, that's who Knuckles was. Honestly, I couldn't remember Piccolo. But he's not a Saiyan, so that may be why.
Quest 64 threadDid the DBZ equivalence end once Naka left Sonic Team? He said that he used DB as one of his influences, but now that he's left...
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page. When did he actually leave, though? Specifically, what was the last game he was there for?
Because if it's right after Sonic 2006... well, the rest of the games beyond that are mainly Sonic-only. Where as the earlier ones outside of a few were Sonic and Friends. Then again, Dragon Ball GT kind of had the mainly Goku vibe with extra helpers who does some stuff, but he does the majority of it.
Sonic 2006's Chaos Emeralds bringing Sonic back to life is beyond obvious with Goku's constant deaths and revivals from the Dragon Balls.
Quest 64 threadHe left sometime during the development of 2006, apparently due to disappointment in how Sega was treating Sonic Team, (we can see the state of the not-so-final product as proof of that).
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page. And the fact they fired the first set of testers too. That severely hampered it.
Okay, so yeah, Sonic 2006 still had DBZ influence with Silver being Trunks and all. Plus, it was the first game to revive Sonic(Goku) using the Chaos Emeralds.
None of the other games much related to DBZ after that. It's fairly obvious why now. Or atleast a decent theory.
Quest 64 thread
The fans have made tons of Super Forms for characters that don't have one.
Also, you could even have a loadout system, for references to other games. Sonic could fight with his Fighters moves, his Brawl moves, the wisps, Caliburn, etc...
