General Sonic The Hedgehog thread

I had a thought of five Sonic characters playing Among Us. The five characters would be Sonic The Hedgehog, Neo Metal Sonic, Metamorphia, Morpho and Mimic. The four villains would try to use their shape-shifting powers to win the game by impersonating each other. Eventually they would turn into Sonic to throw the other players off but since they all had the same idea, there would be five Sonics in the same room. Unfortunately they were focused on each other they didn't realise that the real Sonic was the sabotager so he won the game.

Yeah, I'd also thought of a roster that included Vector and Charmy together a couple years ago. Of course, this was back before Frontiers and Superstars were out, so of course I didn't have Sage or Trip yet.

There was a Sonic fangame that did it too. Was a pretty awesome looking game, but the creator got heat for stealing assets or something.

I wonder if we're going to get anything for April 1st...

I really, really hope "yearly Sonic visual novels on April 1st" becomes a consistent thing. It was such a good idea.

Well known Sega/Atlas leaker Midori is claiming a Heroes remake is in the works at Sega.

Has this person shown themselves to be correct with their leaks before?

Huh. The first Sonic game to be multi-platform. And some would argue where Sonic's Dork Age started rearing it's ugly head if you're feeling ungenerous.

I'm hoping if this is true, they see about adding a few new teams. Maybe improve the game play.

Perhaps let you mix and match members of the teams.

....use this as an opportunity to bring back Mighty and Ray, since they perfectly fit 2/3'rds of the triangle for this game.

Give us Team Classic you cowards.

I'm assuming any remake would not change the story or the cast roster. If nothing else than out of sloth and desire to not break the timeline.

Actually, yeah. They leaked the Sonic-based Fall Guys game for Apple Arcade whose concept trailer leaked the other day, a Puyo Puyo game that's also coming to Apple Arcade, and leaked how Persona 3: Reload was getting "The Answer" post-game campaign as DLC. (I think they might have also leaked those SEGA revivals that got revealed in TGA 2023, but I'm not sure.)

Which is weird because I think that and Sonic Adventure DX was what reeled me into Sonic games after Sonic X got me into Sonic in general as a kid.

Not sure what new teams or gameplay improvements they could throw in. Maybe Mighty, Ray, and Honey? But beyond that, I'm drawing a blank.

Ooh, and if it turns out Ian Flynn is writing the remake, it's gonna be a real irony of ironies moment because dude's been very vocal about how he's not a big fan of the game...even though he borrowed a lot of elements like Neo Metal Sonic, the Egg Pawns, and Grand Metropolis (last one was in the Archie Post-SGW era).

And it hits me that Sonic Heroes is now 20 years old since it was originally released in Japan on 12/30/2003 and in the rest of the globe on 2004!

But in any case, yeah, getting a Sonic Heroes remake is going to be WILD AF. What's next, an official remake of Sonic 06 whose gameplay isn't torture?

@ neoman: For someone with Sonic as his Arch-Enemy Eggman really likes to re-use the Evil Knockoff with him. Metal, Mecha, Silver, that virtual Sonic you play in a mini-game...maybe it's one of the ways his Worthy Opponent view on Sonic expresses itself

Leaks are just leaks until hard evidence or and actual announcement turns out, even if the leaker has a track record. They can still be wrong.

A Sonic Heroes remake out of nowhere is a little random. And what "remake" entails is questionable as well. Not saying it can't be true, just a leak that I'm more sceptical of.

I get the sense Eggman would love a Sonic that's subservient to him.

Midori has been correct about so many things — ie. Persona 3 Reload and P5 Tactica before they were announced, Shin Megami Tensei V Vengeance, the exact contents of Reload's DLC before the game dropped — I believe her when she corroborates a rumor about a Sonic Heroes remake.

Sonic characters but they're being subjected to the trolley problem

now the question is,who do you save?

When I heard Sonic having problems with a trolley my mind went to Sonic playing Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage! and having trouble with the trolley level. 

My mind just went to one of the most memorable episodes of The Good Place.

I know Colors had the same voice cast, to the point of them getting Kate Higgins to record new dialogue for Tails, but I'm really hoping if we get a Heroes remake, they get the modern cast to re-record everything.

There are a few standout performances, but overall I think it'd be better if we had the new guard.

Anything redone will require re-recording anyway.

Ya'll think it'll be a one-to-one faithful remake or one-to-one but more cool stuff? I don't think this would go full-on remake everything to be bigger like, say, FF 7 Rebirth.

Although I'm damningly curious how they'll remake What I'm Made Of too now

If Heroes were to get a remake of sorts, or a remaster, I imagine the voice actors of that game will reprise their role, but Mike will have to voice Eggman, since his voice actor from that game passed away.

I do wish the translation got redone to be more accurate to either the Japanese script, as the translation is kinda shoddy.
