i think part of the issue is that Sonic Adventure 1 and 2's ports onto modern systems aren't good at all. the original releases (as well as the gamecube releases) might very well be objectively better.
I remember a little while ago there was a troper that was having all these super extreme issues with the game that was making them hate it, and most everyone who played the originals (or the gamecube ports) was super confused since it turned out they were playing it on steam which had *major* issues in how it handled the physics.
"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeEpic Bleye the Gamecube port of Sonic Adventure 2 is often considered better than the Dreamcast version.
The Gamecube port of Sonic Adventure 1 on the other hand is often considered worst than the Dreamcast version.
x2 iirc that troper was also using their keyboard instead of a controller, which further contributed to their issues.
I'm curious as to how an Adventure 1 remake would be handled. The game is such a byproduct of its era in terms of game design (far more than 2), with stuff like Big's campaign being totally removed from everything else.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?I guess Sonic Paradox is doing a short side thing while working on actual Sonic Shorts.
Really short stuff, but they'll be frequent...
Sonic shorts but...shorter.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.Vector's Nickers was great. The strangest thing about Sonic Paradox is their sincerity with the Sonamy ship.
"No will to break."Seeing old Sonic flash animations has me nostalgic. There was a crappy old flash series called "Sonic Syythe World" back in 2001-2005ish, and it had a sizable community around it. But the creator sort of got kicked out of it and the community took a life of its own. Eventually all of the forums related to the main series died off and they locked the forum to keep people out. I was able to post on a few of the sub-forums to ask about it, but they seemed pretty isolationist at that point.
Syythe World was this... absurd Sonic fan animation but, unlike most, actually had a plot and seemed to be going somewhere. That was a lot back then, having an episode number, having a semblance of a plot, having character bios. The characters were all recolored Sonic sprites, but they had a lot of variety to them.
It was all about an evil purple-white hedgehog named Syythe who was trying to take over the world and sank like three continents. He had a base in Antarctica and for no apparent reason seemed to be known by several different heroes who came together to defeat him. Most episodes were spent searching for "symbols" that showed up on the island from time to time, distinguished by the letters A, B, and C. The B and C symbols granted more advanced powers and such, like a person who could heal a single person at a time would suddenly be able to heal multiple people. The enemies that worked with Syythe could get their own symbols too. It had an RPG vibe.
There was Sonic Syythe World and an actual Sonic RPG on Newgrounds that had like 6-8 chapters I think, and even featured Nights and Reala. I never actually finished it though, my 12-year old attention span wasn't up to it.
I keep meaning to go back and see if those old flash series were ever finished. I miss the "Sonic vs Mario" flash animations that used to come from that site.
There was that "Nazo Unleashed" that came from there, and "Super Mario Bros Z" as well.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!If there was a Sonic fighting game, who would you like to see in it (yes I know there's already been two)?
Personally, I'd very much like Blaze to be in the roster.
I do writing, feel free to check out my stories here! https://numbugwritingblog.tumblr.com/post/686233243868102656/numbugs-shared-heroic-uniEveryone.What other response is there?
Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-AroundIt could be something like Sakura from Naruto Ninja Storm and they'd have her do a bunch of Girl Fu and non-canon special attacks.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Elise and Chris are the training mode dummies. No other options are given.
You know Sonic is due for a proper mainstream female Big Bad. I mean except for Merlina, who was more like an Anti-Villain, there hasn't been any main villainesses. There have been Token bad girls on a team, but that is just it.
Metal Sonic was a girl all along.
Alternative Joke:
"No female Big Bads? But what about Amy?"

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.I think, handled by a competent writer, Merlina returning as an antagonist would be a really nice twist.
Afterall, her home will inevitably be torn apart (I don't think that's literal, but I haven't read the original Arthurian tales to be sure :p). Even with the message she recieved, there could be a lot that's played with from the post-disaster grief that would follow.
I do writing, feel free to check out my stories here! https://numbugwritingblog.tumblr.com/post/686233243868102656/numbugs-shared-heroic-uniI think it would be better if it was just a new villainess created for the Sonic series.
I agree. Merlina doesn't need to be reused.
A cruel, sick joke is still a joke, and sometimes all you can do is laugh.Eggman is the Big Bad.
Merlina was one of the better villains. I don't think there's a quota to meet.
At the same time, any gender or type of villain would be acceptable as long as they don't turn into one-offs like the Six or Dark Gaia or Chaos again.
...well, to kill two birds with one stone, the best option might be to make that Omelette character canon. I like her design andthe amount of fanart for her was ridiculous.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Well there's always the potential inexplicable return of Witchcart from Tails' Sky Patrol.
Still waiting for a Legion of Losers movie...If Sonic’s world and the Human world are separate, it makes me wonder when the first crossover was.
More importantly, how about releasing a game that makes this explicitly clear?

It still makes no Goddamn sense to me. I mean, in SA 1, Angel Island falls down just a stone's throw away from Mystic Valley and Station Square. Which both have humans in it. So if the Mobians and humans are supposed to be in two different worlds, how was that supposed to work? And why was it never mentioned in the freaking games?
Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-AroundBecause Iizuka cares more about trying to please literally every faction of this fanbase than having canon make sense.
To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."Once Iizuka steps down, I hope if the new guy is competent to work past all that...
Eh, there's always a reboot to put things back in order.
A cruel, sick joke is still a joke, and sometimes all you can do is laugh. Was that Word Of God, that Sonic and Human worlds were separate?

Unlikely that they ever would, but I'd love to see Adventure 1 in particular get a script redub with the modern cast.
