Even if it's not a perfect game by any means, I still have a fondness for 3D Blast when I was a kid. I'm looking forward to the creator's changes.

I got most of them, but the mermaid was a different story. Probably because I only saw Adventures when I was a kid. I mean, if I were to put Sonic in a fish bottom and give him boobs, would you honestly say that Sega reject was an official character? Because that's what she is.

That's actually pretty easy, though it's easier to recognize which characters are Fan OC then it is to remember some official stuff.

The unified artsyle really throws a wrench into it. I didn't even recongize the last one because of it. I got her, the lion and the fox wrong. The mermaid seemed weird until she said Aosth which made it believable lol.

As of the latest update video, the 3D Blast director's cut now has Super Sonic, a better tracking boss camera, a score function, Flickies no longer run away if you're hit with rings on, a flashing icon to better show where they are, and less stiff control over Sonic, among many small improvements.

So has Iisuka said anything about a Mania sequel? If so, I hope he won't force Taxman & co. to include remake levels this time, and let them go full-hog on new ideas and concepts. But I'm not holding my breath.
