Better yet, why is Knuckles so pink? Mind you, he was also pink in Chaotix for whatever goddamned reason, but still.
Yeah, I hope they don't spoil much more before the release.
I'm hoping they do spoil more personally. At the very least, I want to know what all the zones are and how many of them we're going to get before it comes out.
Unless we're way off on the level count, we're probably not going to see all the levels revealed, unfortunately.
Means more of a surprise when we actually play the game though.

At least we know it will be longer than Generations (not that that's saying much) and will have "more levels" than any classic game (which hopefully counts S3&K as one game).
Who knows? Maybe the "original" levels alone could be the length of a Genesis Sonic game.
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page. All I know is that if I'm going to be plunking down $20.00 for this game, it'd be nice to get 20 hours of gameplay in return. Mind you, I know that's not really how these sorts of games work, (hence why most of the games I buy are RPG's; bang for the buck and all that,) but at the very least, I'd like not to finish it in a day or two.
I kinda wish, for both 2D and 3D Sonic, that they really start to take advantage of the alternate paths and put more secrets in them. That would really encourage players to look for other shortcuts and alternate routes other than "just because."
Sure, Red Rings are nice, but there are only so many you can put in a stage.
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page.Still kinda bummed Amy won't be playable in the game, possibly not even referenced even if Stardust Speedway is there. It just feels odd that it's assumed she's not a classic character, even if she wasn't playable at the time.
Which itself wasn't even true thanks to Sonic R. She was actually playable in that game. Mind you, I have no idea how you could fit a freaking car into a 2D level, but I'm sure the Mania team could find a way.

Its not so much Amy isn't considered a "Classic" character, but rather the game is trying to emulate the 2D titles down to a T. And Amy was sadly not playable or even a major character before Adventure.
I do think they should have considered her at the very least.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. Are we so impatient for Amy that we're not even considering DLC?
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page.look we have to complain about something
"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeI can buy that all the islands in the 2D Sonic games have diverse ecosystems for the sake of level variety.
There is one thing that amuses me though. The fact that Angel Island has Casino Night Zone even though it is supposed to be all mysterious and junk. Did the Echidnas make this place, thus developing amusement park technology that was way ahead of its time? Admittedly, there is also the possibility that Eggman built the zone.
Hey, Knuckles had to pass the time somehow
I do writing, feel free to check out my stories here! https://numbugwritingblog.tumblr.com/post/686233243868102656/numbugs-shared-heroic-uniI haaaaaaaate DLC. Seriously, screw that crap!!
A retro throwback game like this doesn't sound like it'll have DLC, but if they do, I'd be up for it, especially if it means more playable characters. Along with Amy, it would really be great to have Blaze be in anything, as unlikely as that is with the public backlash over anyone not part of the core trio.
Carnival night, not casino night. And yeah that level was always weird. I figured Eggman built it or something but Idk if that adds up.
@Yasmin: You need to experience the recent main Pokémon games. Then you'll wish for DLC.
Come on, guys, DLC can either be a good or bad thing, but isn't inherently one or the other.
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page. It'd mean he built like 3 levels by the time Sonic got to the island.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.Oops. I'm bad at names sometimes.
Anyway, I heard that IGN is ignoring Sonic the Hedgehog's legacy as a revolutionary game in the platformer genre by saying the franchise was "never good" just to piss off fans. That is really unprofessional if this is true.

Anyone who says Sonic was never good is full of crap IMO. IGN has had this weird hate-on for Sonic for a while and I still think it stems from their bias with Mario, who they love to mention in anything regarding Sonic. They're very much the "well why can't sonic be more like Mario!" crowd.
There's a reason the classic games spawned so many copycats and wannabes.

At this point I'm not interested in more Mania footage; I think I get the gist by now.
