I really want them to make a new vocal song. "Reach for the Stars" and "Free" were good, but the last one I really loved was "With Me".

This song needs more love.Yay, someone found the old Sonic movie pitch! I liked the part where the background was vertical but Sonic was still cut off by letterboxing. And the kid narrator who wasn't sure which words to emphasize, and the home camera footage...
Oh god, why did I see that?
Really, why doesn't Ken Penders just go away? Forever? Like to Alaska or some other place known for having people living there in secret?
I really want Crush 40 to do another vocal theme. It's been far too long.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!I honestly don't know why Generations and Lost World didn't have vocal themes...
I mean, why break the tradition that Adventure 1, Adventure 2, Heroes, Shadow, Riders, '06, Secret Rings, Zero Gravity, Unleashed, Black Knight, All Stars Racing, Free Riders, and Colors all had?
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!Generations was basically a long list of Call-Back's anyway, I was fine with the remixes. It did have a little medley that played when you were in the white hub world.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Generations is a mix of almost zero unique content. In fact, other than the final boss, did it even have its own real stage? It already has vocal themes up the wazoo. The underlying theme(as in what the game represents. Like Secret Rings and Black Knight's main themes) of the game itself is "every other game has note", so there's no need. Other vocal themes, especially the main one, has a focus on the current game itself. A new time-related song could be cool, but maybe it was hard finding lyrics for "20 games in 1"(exaggeration, but the issue is there).
Lost World, who knows. Maybe Sonic Team just lost their lyrical talent? They can't write songs forever. Or the artists weren't interested. Or they don't think it was that important.
They need more Crush 40 :V
The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!I actually consider "Sonic Youth" to be the unofficial lyric theme of Generations. I mean, just listen to it:
Unleashed might have some issues but let be fair and give credit where it's due. If it weren't for Unleashed, we wouldn't have Colors or Generations. The game did something right to have successors follow it's footsteps.

Oh I'm bout to Broken Base all over that sh't.
I can do without Colors, Generations is the loss here.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Unleashed is very much an experimental game, so as such, a lot of things would be corrected in the next two entries.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. The only real merit about Colors is that it has no alternate gameplay.
Everything else about it isn't all that bad, but mediocre.
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page.I loved the shit out of Colors, personally.
but HOW?Colors is a pretty fun game to me as well. People consider that game mediocre now?
Yeesh...

It is actually even more average than it originally was.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.The thing about the Sonic fandom is that people will love praise and adore nearly any given game when it comes out with some exceptions. Give it a year or two (if that) and people will say that it's absolute garbage.
I'm still fairly certain that the Sonic fandom is the biggest Broken Base ever. There'll never be a good Sonic game because no one can agree on what a good Sonic game is.
Personally, I love Colors and think that only Rush beats it out. Hell, I'd probably love it more than Rush if it's scoring system wasn't a pain in the ass.

Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Colors was aight. I thought the controls were kinda stiff and didn't much care for how quickly my boost bar was drained or how difficult it is to refill it compared to Generations, but nothing seemed actively bad about it. Didn't finish it, but I could see myself doing so.
No question that the fanbase is the biggest Broken Base in existence, though. This is what happens when you start splitting it across multiple continuities as early as two years into your franchise's existence - to say nothing of deciding to take your franchise's primary focus (that is, the video games that started it all) and then keep changing things solely for the sake of changing things, refusing to just focus on what works, out of the misguided fear of the franchise going stale.
So now you have people who are only fans of the comics or TV shows, mixed with people who are only fans of the games, but that latter subset is further subdivided into only liking specific niches that one game catered to but no others did, on the grounds that the core gameplay of a new Sonic game is in perpetual flux... It's a right mess.
Not to say there isn't overlap between the various segments, of course; life can't be compartmentalized that cleanly.

Moon◊I'm sorry to be that poster, but:
We've done this before. I'm actually having a Twilight Zone moment here.
Someone comes in, talks about how Shadow is the worst game, how Colors is the worst game, how Rush is the worst game, how Adventure is the worst game, how Lost World is the worst game, etc.
Then 3-4 people come to its defense, saying they personally enjoyed it for reasons X, Y, and Z, and then before a big argument about quality and controls turns heated, someone says, "Nobody in Sonic fandom knows what they want."
And it's like, we reset.
And I still contest that "the Sonic fanbase" isn't some distinctly Broken Base. Any fanbase, all fanbases since the dawn of fandom, have argued about what the best motives, story arcs, and characters are for any given series. That's why fan fiction exists.
Plenty argue about vanilla MMO's versus their expansions, about whether English or Japanese voice-acting is superior, about whether FNAF or Undertale is worse, or which has more porn associated with it.
We are not unique in this. The only special trait we have is that you can Google "[your name] the hedgehog" and almost certainly find a fan character for it.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!That's like the inevitable fate of Sonic discussion.
It's too good to criticise.
People defend Shadow the Hedgehog...you lost your credits.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!I actually liked Colors. Not as much as I do, say, Generations or the Adventure Duology.
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!Colors is alright, I admitelly I had a higher opinion of it when it first came out due to buying too much into its hype, but after it wore off, I still think its a serviceable if an unremarkable game.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Colors came at the perfect time. The last batch of Sonic games consisted of Black Knight (which, while I liked it, many did not), Unleashed (which was divisive), Sonic 4 (divisive), and Sonic Chronicles (enough said). Then, we got a brand new Sonic game that had no alternate gameplay and a very cool mechanic that only ever enhanced gameplay. It's no wonder that everyone loved it at the time. Generations only improved on its formula.
This song needs more love.
Well, I like the Smash soundtracks too.
I'm almost hoping that the 25th Anniversary game isn't Generations 2 so we can have a new original soundtrack. Lost World was... OK but it's not the best. Only a few songs really stand out on that.
