What should grant them then? As far as I know, some of those things are rather important to a couple that wants to live together. Right to visit each other in hospital, for example. Not to mention matters such as inheritance.

Explain to me this: How does the fact that gay couples are allowed to get married harm heterosexual couples that are also married and raising children?

Then explain to me how whatever harm you're able to come up with somehow outweighs all of the good that can be done by giving gay couples an avenue to adopting the millions of unwanted children who have no one but the state to care for them.
