I think this may be another oddity, hmm... allow me to show you.

-Avax opens xyr own mouth to demonstrate: there are no teeth behind the first ones. The 'teeth' visible are a single row, and there's no distinction between teeth, gums and lips-

-the tongue looks like a tube, ending in the second mouth-

Humans... you have two layers of teeth. The flapping flat teeth that move when you speak or smile, and those other strange, hardy ones, that the larvae has only partially formed.

Yeah... they should be here. Weird. And it's just a suit to keep him warm. Babies aren't as good at doing that until later, so they need some help.
