(M) At least I have it now. (looks down in the water at the spheroid for a couple moments)

"... can you like... speak to it?"

{Yeah, but her body'd already absorbed the energy by then. When I found out she had turned into...something like me, I was afraid she'd done a lot of damage. So I went out looking, she signaled me and...that happened. So I took the energy back, out of her.}

Homura: (M) ...I don't know yet. I've only seen her in my dreams.

(O) <Why did she signal you in the first place? I would think she would have wanted to flee at the first chance.>

{I don't know...I think she was guilty, maybe? Or someone persuaded her to?}

Link looks back at the forest, curiosity clawing at him. He shook his head and made his way back over there. He went to a tree, latched onto it and climbed. He sat on a tree trunk above the clearing to see what was happening.

Homura: <Hm. She offered no resistance?>

{No...not that she could have, I don't think. By my estimates she only got about .001% of my power.}

Homura: <And she was still able to devour planets and forcibly relocate entire civilizations.>

{...Yeah.}

Homura: ... (looks at Oriana rather intently)

{U-um...is something on my face...?}

Link arrived just in time to see the woman jump out of the Barroth's way, then drag her hand across its side, coming off bloody as she did.

Whoever she was a minute ago, it was lost, the aura she put off being even stronger than before as she lashed out in a primal rage at the Barroth. It was hard for Link to see at his distance, but there was something about her eyes, her face, that showed no remorse or second thoughts about her actions, a vengeful autopilot, even, as the Barroth circled back and charged her.

The woman lunged with a gravelly snarl and caught a hold of its head. Hanging on, she reached down and wrenched one of its teeth loose with a sickening crack, only to then take it and apply it as forcefully as she could into its eye.

"... shit, 've been working on a telepath spell, but... not sure I got it down yet."

He winced, but he couldn't look away. It was a spectacle, even as an unwitting observer. This — demonic woman, as Link thought she was, knew what she was doing after all.

Homura: (O) <...Just how powerful are you?>

(M) I see. I don't particularly think that's the biggest issue here, to be honest.

{I...don't know. I think I could, um...create my own Big Bang if I wanted...}

The Barroth roared in pain, shaking the woman off and into the nearest tree. The wood splintered around where she impacted and she dropped to the ground with a snarl, but picked herself up just in time to steer the beast off course with a steady right-hand hook its jaw as it approached.
