DreamWorks stuff

Outsourcing happens all the time in animation so I'm not too shocked by this development,but as everyone knows once you start outsourcing you can't stop because they don't always stay the cheap alternative

If the executives were smart, they’d appease the stockholders by cutting their own oversized salaries rather than hurting the films and the creators who make them.

Greedy = stupid.

On the contrary, a lot of greed is done due to sliminess. People assume executives are doing dumb shit when in fact more often it's intentional.

In any case though it sucks, although I'm going to assume outsourcing wouldn't really hurt too much in quality.

Let's hope that these animators that don't work on Dream Works anymore had found new jobs. Anyway, there has been some rumours that the next sequel for Dream Works in 2025 is The Bad Guys, I don't know if this is real or just a speculation, so I'm not going to jump into the conclusion until further news.

You know the recent DreamWorks Animation intro, where the boy in the moon gets to meet the various characters from movies like How to Train Your Dragon, Kung Fu Panda and The Bad Guys (2022)?

Yeah, they really should consider adding Megamind to the montage.

So the rumours are true then, but still, is Sony Imageworks helping with this project or is other studios? Remember that Dream Works is going to outsource their films after The Wild Robot.

My understanding is 20% of the film will be done at Sony ImageWorks Canada.

What about the other 80?

In house at DreamWorks.

Probably it will be more than 20% thanks to the layoffs, but I guess this percentage will make sense given how greedy are the studios executives.

Also it indicates that the amounts can change. Hoping that the movie isn’t just 80 minutes. Or if it is, that amount won’t include credits.

Like 92-95 minutes. The limit on runtime is such a weird rule. I saw Ghostbusters Frozen Empire this last weekend and that movie pushed two hours. And there WERE kids in the audience.
