DreamWorks stuff

New page, new updates:

We got updates on current and upcoming animated projects.

For DreamWorks:

• On the movie front:
  • HTTYD 3, Trolls 2, Croods 2, Boss Baby 2 are happening soon.
  • Shrek 5, Madagascar 4, and Puss in Boots 2 are in the pipeline even if the last 2 haven't been formally announced...
  • Those who dread sequels, chin up, there are some originals happening later. We just don't know about those.
• Regarding the TV side:
  • The VeggieTales, Noddy: Toyland Detective, Rocky and Bullwinkle, Boss Baby, Spirit: Riding Free, Dinotrux, Trolls, Home, Voltron shows are still going.
  • Weirdly enough, Trollhunters is said to be ongoing, but isn't it at its final season? Or does that show function like there's half of a season now, and the second half is coming later?
  • Upcoming shows we know about like 3 Below, Harvey Street Kids, Kung Fu Panda, Captain Underpants, and She-Ra are on the horizon.
  • We also have some teases we DON'T know about, like something called Dragons Jr., as well as Cleopatra in Space, and (ugh) Minions. So keep your eyes peeled on those.
  • Finally, there's word about how original IP's are getting pitched and other ideas are getting greenlit for production.

Is it me or has Dreamworks really taken a break from the usual Dreamworks-tonal stuff.... only to reveal that "... yeah we're just doin' all the same things. We never learn"?

Trolls 2 will evidentally be about ...... a world tour. Not sure.... how they're gonna do that...

Some of that info is outdated, like Trollhunters. I had to remind Hulett last time that King Julien was also finished last time.

Not a lot of info in the new update, overall.

Yeah, that's probably gonna suck; Illumination is cheap as hell, and I wouldn't be surprised if Shrek just looks like a reskin of Gru, if Donkey and Puss look like they come from Sing!, and if the other Humans look like Whos. I do wonder, though, if this Reboot of Shrek will be closer to the original idea when they had Chris Farley as Shrek; where he was someone who took up a grand quest in order to prove himself. That could be interesting, at least.

The Road to El Dorado is coming to Blu-Ray in January.

Indeed. I'm glad I saw Bird Karma first because that ended on a sour note with the bird dying from eating the orange fish and getting eaten by the green fish...which admittedly makes sense thanks to Laser-Guided Karma being a thing and well, that title.. That said, I love the 2D animation they used here, even if it's just a one-and-done thing (maybe).

Meanwhile, Bilby I loved from start to finish (especially finish) and it is legit PURE.

B Ibly came from the unused assets they made from that canceled Australian-set film. Maybe this can be a platform to give dead projects another chance like Me And My Shadow!

HTTYD 3 reviews are out.

So weird that Dreamworks now has non-Netflix stuff.

Margie Cohn, president of DreamWorks Animation Television, will be replacing Chris DeFaria as president of DWA in general very soon.

The trailer for Abominable will be released tomorrow.

Oh cool. Not sure why they released it in theaters WEEKS BEFORE it came online? Is that a new practice?

So yeah the story looks horrid and overdone, and the animation, while being made at what is Dreamwork's Chinese animation studio now under a different name, is not reaching the level of quality I expect from them. Animation feature films about yeti/bigfoot have to die.

I like the animation, but I lost count of how many times 'my dad' was said. XD
