I just downloaded Hellhound and gave it a listen. I'm particularly partial to "Tuff Guy Not Tuff." Though "Plan Your Party Kit" gets points for using Toxic Cave's music. I think it's a pretty good album, overall. :o

Guys, Renard Queenston is in trouble.

From his tumblr:

hello friends

as you may or may not be aware (i’ve seen posts going around regarding it (thank you for your concern, i truly do love you all)), i have been pinned for some copyright infringement. while in many cases i’d be a lot more understanding of the charges (i know very well what i do and that i stand in the line of fire), this one in particularly really boils me up.

i will keep the details “vague” for legal reasons.

in a Mayhem track i used (unknowingly, i pulled it from a sample pack which i’ve had for years) a few seconds of vocals (“we’re gonna take you way back”). the owners of the recording have contacted me about it and i can’t disclose anything about the case as it stands.

the reason i’m so disgusted is because the author of the sampled work died last year. copyright law already disgusts me to no end, and being pinpointed by the owner of a dead man’s voice is one of the most offensive things that has ever happened to me. if you are a remotely human individual, you know how fucked up this actually is. an independent like me that doesn’t exactly make a killing is certainly not above the law.

it’s going to cost me a lot of money any way i look at it. if i settle, if i go to court, no matter what, it’s going to be money. i don’t want to have to leave my home and cut myself off from people because of this and i want to keep doing what i do.

please stay tuned for the next few days. i am likely going to release a collection of assorted scribbles and whatnot that i’ve posted recently along with some hi-res art by Squeedge from the archive of Lap Fox goodies and even a couple source NSF and IT files.

thank you for your continued support.
