It's worth it-in my mind-if they spend said dollars and lose. Anything to discredit unsavory tactics.

Walker repealed the Equal Pay enforcement act this previous Thursday night.

how did I know Grothman would be behind this? I'm completely unsurprised.

For the law’s critics, though, even the threat of lawsuits put an intolerable burden on business. “If tomorrow you woke up and some policeman is at your door giving you a summons for something, the fact that you’re innocent wouldn’t make you happy, because you have to show you’re innocent at some considerable time and expense,” says Republican state senator Glenn Grothman, a major driver of the repeal.

Grothman says companies are being bombarded with false accusations of discrimination. “It’s an underreported problem, but a huge number of discrimination claims are baseless,” he says. “Most of them are filed by fired employees, and really today almost anybody is a protected class.” As a result, he says, many companies are forced to pay fired employees to go away. He argues that the Wisconsin law, which allowed for damages of up to $300,000, the same amount as in federal law, raised the cost of doing business in the state to intolerable levels. “It just puts Wisconsin way out of whack with other states,” he says. “I’m not sure there are any other states this bad off.”

Personally, I'd be out there screaming for evidence of such ridiculous foul play.

It doesn't sound like a bad argument to me-it just sounds like it's based on BS claims.

It always sounds like a good argument.

Always. This is part of their strategy.

If people are B Sing on the facts, then question their facts. It's really that simple. Don't dismiss the argument without addressing it, that's just rude.

Say, are any of your mothers, aunts, wifes or daughters planning to vote for Walker and his administration come election time?

Well the only people I know in Wisconsin are unlikely to vote Republican.

It's like there's a gigantic, apathetic, liberal political demographic that does not understand the meaning of the phrase "self-fulfilling prophecy". How do they think Walker got into power in the first place?

Share it so that people can get into this conversation, 'cause we're not the only ones who think like this.

I think for a lot of liberals, its basically feeling like we're against the wall no matter who we vote in. even the "liberal" candidates re at best moderates who dont really believe in our ideals. And half of them are just as likely to serve business interests (although at least they wont gladly burn our rights in a fire and piss on them)

Walker decreased gun control. Sounds like he supports our rights.

woo fucking whoo.

Now you can't bargain to get a better wage, but you can at least hide a gun upon your person while not doing so.

You can't bargain for a better wage, but you can at least ensure that when you get laid off for requesting one, you have all the equipment needed to go postal.

NOTE: I am not endorsing such actions.

There is a giant, apathetic, liberal political demographic. How much of the 40% that doesn't vote ever would be closer to our side if they bothered to think about it?

Except for 4/1/2011. That day lingers in my memory like...metaphor here...I should go.

Maybe if the Democrats try some economic populism, they'll come out.
