Needs a split: Only Sane Man

From what I understand, the trope "Only Sane Man" is an in-universe trope about a character that is the only one that realizes that something is wrong, that his peers are mistaken, or that things are not as they should be. However, it's mostly being used as out-of-universe fan summations of character who are "less weird" than the rest of the members of the Dysfunction Junction. It's also being used all over the wiki to plot hole into that definition.

I think we need to split the examples that fit the second standard into a new YMMV trope, possible titled The Sane One or something. As it stands, we need to fix it now before it becomes too large a problem.

I agree with you regarding the trope.

Anyone can fix that with the icon in the top left corner of the thread.

Click the little page with a green plus icon in it on the top left side of the thread. This will open the "edit article" screen. It should display the name of the target page as it appears in the url, so it should be something like Main/Trope or Namespace/Page. You need to point this at ptitles, not at redirects.

Is the distinction really necessary? The difference between "Token Sane Man" and "Token Sane Man who is well aware of this" seems minor.

^^ I believe the distinction being made is "The one guy who realizes that everyone is insane and reacts to all the craziness as opposed to everyone else who accepts or enjoys the chaos" and "The least interesting character; The man with no quirks". Very vastly different and serve different functions to the story.

Straight Man is a couple dynamic. Only Sane Man is a group dynamic.

This doesn' need a split. Also, the latter usage is totally not YMMV. It's just Straight Man with more crazies.
