I'm aware of that, in fact I thought it was obvious. I just think, as April Fools jokes go, that ones just cruel.
Even if it were true, what difference would it make?
Home of CBR Rumbles-in-Exile: rumbles.fr.yuku.comWhat difference would it make? I'm pretty sure Valve would hire back as many of the laid off employees from Rare as they could and keep on with the Rare franchises. It also means Rare would finally go third party and we could get him in the next SSB, or some crazy G La DOS / Grunty randomness or something.

If Valve had Rare, I think they would have Conker in TF 2 for the laughs.
Wouldn't he be a little short?
He may be, but not unless if he kills off the spy. Or in this case the heavy.
What the heck is Rare doing now anyways?
Kinect games, along with Lionhead.
So, they're wasting their best developers on a trite peripheral. WOW.
You're suprised?
What qualifies Rare as "their best developers?" Yes, at one point they were good, but what is the last decent game they made?

Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows.^^ The fact that its Microsoft and Bungie left them. Them being the best isn't a great feat. Whats the last decent game Lionhead made? 343 Studios?

Viva Pinata, IMHO.
Nuts and Bolts wasn't nearly as bad as people make it out to be, but that wasn't really the best use of the Banjo license and definitely not what everyone had wanted in a third console outing. Honestly, if they'd taken their vehicle building ideas and built an independent game around the concept, I think it would have gotten a better reception.
Either way it seems very clear that Microsft are putting all their eggs in one basket.
And the eggs aren't going anywhere anytime soon. Yeah, say goodbye to any non-Kinect Adventures games from Rare for the foreseeable future
I'm lso curious what Metaphysician thinks Microsofts best studio actually is? Pickings are slim there.
Its not that. Its more that, people seem to be talking like Rare is some great bastion of game design, when there really isn't any evidence for it at all.
That said, I'd say Lionhead is better. Yes, yes, the megahype, but the Fable series is better than any game Rare has made since coming to Microsoft.

I don't care what anyone says, I'm saying this until it works! And in this age, anything is possible in the gaming industry!
I'd bet my money on Retro Studios making Banjo Kazooie games if Nintendo ever go t the rights to the series.
Why I am afraid of fences. That would be AWESOME.
Retro Studios sure does have quite the track record. I'm sure that they could do something pretty good with it.
It's not actually going to happen, but it would be nice.
...Do you have something against Banjo Kazooie, Kayeka? Your posts about the series seem really pessimistic IMHO. Not attacking, just wondering.
Hmm? No, not particularly. I didn't really enjoy it, but I don't actually hate it either. I do really like the concept and humour, but the actual platforming was greatly inferior to Super Mario 64, which was a frigging launch title.
I'm just naturally pessimistic when it comes to games.
