"Tactical Sound Unit"
Oh boy, sounds like we're getting more Song Energy shenanigans. More guitar-controlled Valkyries?
That VF-31 Siegfried looks gorgeous though.
Also curious that they're bringing the Sv line of fighters back. The last time one of those popped up was the Sv-51 in Macross Zero. Where have they been for the past 60 years?

Watched some of Delta's preview.
Seems that Var Syndrome is a disease that makes anyone go psycho and go amuck. Humans and Zentradi alike are not spared.
I am fine with song energy stuff, Since i really loved 7 (ORE NO UTA O KIKE!!!)
"Death's vastness holds no peace. I come at the end of the long road—neither human, nor devil... All bends to my will." -Demifiend.It's not just your old magical song energy, it's magical girl song energy complete with transformation sequences.
The preview special was quite good, though it didn't feel quite Macrossy yet save for the singing. Decent characters, enough story hints to be intriging, as long as they can do the CGI better than it was done here, I'm hooked.

So Macross is taking back some influence from Senki Zesshō Symphogear then.
Sounds fine to me.
Watch Symphogearas an old Macross fan,I'm always looking forward a new entry in the franchise.
Of course, don't expect this one to get an official streaming, boys, because Harmony Gold is a thing that still exists...
It was... very Kawamori. Whether that's a good thing depends on the viewer, I imagine
The depiction of the Syndrome reminds me of another show where victims are also affected in a way that they can't control their actions and do unspeakable things (e.g. aside from Crossed of course since I don't think it can be passed to other people... Maybe).
well,I like him.Hell,I liked Arjuna and I know many poeple hated it for how he expressed about certain themes in it.
"You've done it now". Yeah I think I'm going to enjoy watching this.
Hyped for Hyperdimension Neptunia V 2Yeah, I'm loving what I'm seeing so far.
As for their "Magical Girl" transformations, isn't it probably holographic bodysuits like what Sheryl used?
We also have a Jenius! Holy crap, the hype is overwhelming!
As an aside, the subs I watched were obviously taking some liberties with the translation, but damn I laughed when they referred to onigiri as "Japanese donuts".

To quote a guy from reddit, The Singers taking a active part in the combat seems to be the next logical step in Marcoss and well, here we are.
Hyped for Hyperdimension Neptunia V 2First thoughts:
I sure hope the series is long enough to deal properly with all of these characters.
Not sure I like the evolution to the idols actually participating in combat. It risks taking the "Mecha" out of the spotlight in a "Mecha Show".
My hunch is that success/failure will depend on how tight a leash Kawamori is on. There's some interesting ideas here, but it didn't quite manage to grab me.

So it is like Symphogear, then.
Sweet.
If its anything like Symphogear, it should be fine.

Watch SymphogearSaw some Delta trailers. First one almost reminded me more of Evangelion than it did of Macross, largely due to how they presented it. Second one felt more Macross-y, and built up some hype.
I should really get around to watching Macross 7 one of these days.
On the subject of Harmony Gold...

...What!? I did not watch the preview since i still have not watched frontier and to not spoil anything but magical girl transformations?! Damn that sounds awesome.
Damn harmony gold! Why are they so clingy to a license that is originally not even theirs?

"Death's vastness holds no peace. I come at the end of the long road—neither human, nor devil... All bends to my will." -Demifiend.You can watch Dela without anything from Frontier being spoiled. Also Delta takes place 8 years after Frontier. And besides it's the preview of episode 1 that's out and it doesn't official come out till spring so you watch it.
Hyped for Hyperdimension Neptunia V 2Oh. I did not know that, Thanks.
"Death's vastness holds no peace. I come at the end of the long road—neither human, nor devil... All bends to my will." -Demifiend.So after watching the Macross Delta episode a few times, I've found that the "Wind Kingdoms" Variable Fighters (or whatever they are called) are pretty tricked out in terms of armaments. Missiles, Valcguns, Beam Cannons, but what really gets me is that each of these fighters comes with 2 drones. It might be hard to see but the extra engines on the wings aren't just engines, they're drones.
Hyped for Hyperdimension Neptunia V 2Wait, is the episode itself up?
89% of the episode is up as a preview.
in what's new for Macross, it was a pleasant surprise to see that what looked to be the main male protagonist wasn't a complete and utter jackass in his first appearance.
I can't help but think that the characters in the poster for Delta looks like they took boys from an otome harem game and girls from a magical girl anime and stuck them together.
Recent entries in the Macross franchise have typically tried to appeal to multiple demographics, usually successfully. This may, however, be the most extreme range of fan-bases they've tried to include in a single series.

Ladies and gentlemen. Macross Delta.
