Whining, and whining about whining...
Check out my fanfiction! When is patch?
Also, rules of engagement/etiquette are probably very different for 'personalities' such as those, but that doesn't seem like a very hostile "Fuck that loser." to me. The guy who started it seems legitimately butthurt though.
That's what happens when you fuck up royally after 8 years of work and you know it.
Jonah FalconDevs having bitchfests with each other? Nice. Shows that you don't have to be a forum bottomfeeder to act like an idiot.
Unrelated, I'd like to offer for the record that "butthurt" may be one of the most asinine phrases anyone's come up with in recent memory, next to the one in my current signature.
Don't do that. Let's not make ourselves into the same kind of idiots that populate the Blizzard forums.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Oh fine, I'll dial it down. It's... uh... how to put it in a nicer way... very childish of Blizzard South to react this way to rational and calm criticism? I really dunno how to react to this any other way than extreme disgust that these people are working in the game industry.
EIGHT GLORIOUS SIDESTo be fair, a lot of people post on Twitter without thinking. As some wiser people say, wait 20 seconds before you click "Enter". Otherwise, a moment of pain that would normally pass after some consideration will last a lifetime.
Jonah FalconNot everyone is like that, and you don't get to work on a AAA title by being an idiot. It's very easy for developers in this industry to get a kind of tunnel vision about the product they are working on, especially if they're building on a successful franchise.
Diablo III is a good game. There, I said it. Blizzard is to be commended for pushing the envelope and attempting to innovate, and of necessity, not all innovations work or resonate with the community. That said, they need to act like mature adults when faced with criticism. Reacting like forum whiners just makes them sound worse to everyone involved.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"You can get away with that crap posting on GameFAQs, but not here. Keep it constructive or don't waste our time.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Yikes. That's some unprofessional stuff—especially since Blizzard usually has high standards for that sort of thing. Methinks the company's soon going to see some internal initiatives devoted to "message control."
They do have a history of employees going "off message" for brief periods then getting fired for it. Like the infamous Tseric episode with World Of Warcraft.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I never really learned exactly what happened with that. Is that the event that people call "Bus Shock"? I can sort of get a picture of it from that I guess...
I certainly hope it doesn't take another Tseric incident to focus the devs' minds. (And unprofessional as that earlier kerfuffle was, you could at least argue that Tseric was getting genuinely goaded and had something to lose his temper about.)
Tseric was a Community Manager for the World of Warcraft forums. He got into some pissing matches with forum posters who were, as usual, acting like whiny spoiled brats. Finally he left an epic rant on the forums about how WoW's players were whiny spoiled brats who deserved nothing at all from the CM's, then vanished. Apparently he had been fired or some such but (in what I can only assume was an oversight) still had his forum access for a short while, and decided to go out with style.
This is all from memory, of course. I think that Wowpedia has a more detailed entry on him.
Personally I loved Tseric and thought he was speaking very candidly, but the problem with telling whiny spoiled brats that they're a bunch of whiny spoiled brats is that it doesn't stop them from being whiny spoiled brats.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I still don't see what's inherently bad about what the devs are saying, it seems like the sort of talk that happens around the office every day. Is it because they aired their dirty laundry in public, so to speak?
I'm going to go on record tosay, 'butthurt' is an awesome word for the modern era. 'Wouldof', on the other hand, not so much.
Not sure where I stand on 'fagtard' though. It's not quite as aware of it's own ridiculousness as 'homofag', thus losing a lot of the tongue-in-cheek and crosses right over into offensive.
I've also discovered that people who say 'few-roar-ay' when they mean 'furore' (furor, to you Americans) ticks me off to no end.
On-topic: Paragon levels, I like them. More grindy! Although I stopped item grinding ages back, before Inferno was even nerfed, so maybe I'm not on the right track for myself...
EDIT: Spellig and gammar.

It seems that patch 1.0.4 is tomorrow. That's somewhat unexpected. Full patch notes here.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Maybe they were hoping to pleasantly surprise people. Either that or the class changes were in more flux than we thought and the previews couldn't be done until the last minute.
I'm wondering now though... is Phantasm not supposed to be able to crit?
There are a lot of changes. I know I'll be playing again after the patch.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Are you sure it's tomorrow, or later today? At least here in the Philippines anyway...
The servers go down for the patch at 3 AM PST, August 21st. No idea when that is for the Phillipines. Do you even have the same servers?
Also, maybe I'm crazy but for some reason the buff to Rush of Essence excites me the most.

The lot of us play on the US servers. Usually they go down around 7 or 8 in the evening.
It's around that time span where we get the "Server shutting down in X minutes! Please log out" message.

They go down earlier for patches, I think. Not entirely sure what you mean by "usually".
Well. That's awkward.
