Sorry about the fail tags, I'm new to this forum.
[[http://creepypasta.wikia.com/wiki/The_Thing_That_Stalks_the_Fields The Thing That Stalks the Fields]] is what you're looking for.
And yes, that one is one of my favourites, too. :D
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableWhile I didn't find that one particularly scary, I did like it.
That one kind of reminds me of this one.
So, in the U.S., randomly stripping is a signal that you want to sing the national anthem? - That HumanThat as amazing. That was absolutely amazing. Best joke pasta I've ever read.
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/lb_i.php?lb_id=13239183440B34964700 Alfric's Fire Emblem Liveblog Encyclopedia!Normalpornfornormalpeople.com has quickly reached a spot in my favorite creepypastas.
At first I didn't realize I needed all this stuff...Slendy is watchi
Oh! Oh! I wrote this one! I also wrote the "Worm" and "Lost Possibilities" but I think they were a little more trite.
Well, I guess triteness is rampant throughout the Holders, in a charming grimdark way.
My favorite pastas include many already named, but most of the Josef K. stories are phenomenally unsettling: http://thejosefkstories.blogspot.com/
And if you can find it, Dogscape. My god, Dogscape. It's scary, it's ridiculous, it's obscene and insane and a work of art.
bogleech.com for my writing, comics and cartoons.Jesus I just read that one. Wow. Fucked up thing is that I could totally believe a story like that.
Dogscape didn't creep me out that much tbh.
I wanna see a film about it though
"Contests fought between two masters are decided instantly. An invisible battle is now raging between the two of them." Lulu vs SchneizelCould anyone recommend a good entry point into The Fear Mythos? Which blog do I start with?
Jordan Eats and Faces, Strange and Secret are my recommendations. The Fear Mythos forum and wiki actually have a list of 'recommended / good introductions' - here.
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableWhile Russian Sleep Experiment didn't affect my sleeping too badly (granted I sleep with my lamp on), I found it a really well-written story. Though the ending was a bit strange. But eh. It was good :)
I haven't read that many of the famous ones though. Just Candle Cove, Sleep Experiment, and a few others. I started Ben Drowned though, so.
When I walk on the street counting my steps, magic keeps silent and reality stalks me.Ben Drowned is F-N CREEPY until the Ryukaki arc (which, while interesting, is way too confusing) and somewhere between the Ryukaki arc and the weird website itself, I lost the story direction entirely. Still, it was a fun ride. I hope the Hubris game is released soon. I'd actually pay for that thing.
ERROR: Signature not loadedI don't believe that Footsteps and its sequels have been posted yet. Believe me, they are mighty creepy.

What's precedent ever done for us?NES Godzilla Creepypasta is corny in places, but takes the Show, Don't Tell approach to 'suddenly my incredibly old game had disturbingly realistic graphics!' and is pretty brilliantly creative at doing so, making it the only game-based pasta so far that I respect.

The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableI must say the characters in these video game pastas get disturbed waaaaaaaay too easily. When he noticed the presence of Biollante, he thought it could have been from plans to promote a movie coming up soon. I thought that was a fairly reasonable theory, but he says it like it's some sort of incredibly desperate rationalization.
Likewise, when the thing in world 2 first showed up in a level, he asked what sick fuck would place that in a kids' game. Clearly, he underestimated what developers will sometimes consider appropriate for children. Myself, I have no problem whatsoever imagining someone putting that in a children's horror game. The fact that it was inspired by Giygas only makes it weirder for me.
Generally, characters in these pastas wildly overreact to things that I and others I know would simply write off as very weird glitches. Don't know how else to put it. Sorry for writing so much, but it's something that actually lessens the creepiness for me (I guess it's Narm for me, in a sense) and this one is guilty of it.
Still, I read the first two parts and may look at the others.
EDIT: I think I confused Red with something else at first. Sorry.

"What's out there? What's waiting for me?"Like I said, there are corny bits. :P
The exaggerated freak-outs are a large part of why most video game pasta does nothing for me. But I think even they are more toned-down in this than in general. (If I remember the situation with Biollante correctly, the reasons he's dubious of his own rationalisation are both that the film was not in development until very soon before the game was released - well before marketing would have begun - and because to the best of his knowledge her presence is unique to this version of the game.)
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableThe Godzilla one is really good in the first half but I just feel loses it as it goes on. Like the part where the red monster chases Godzilla and suddenly looks at you legitimately startled me a bit. But then came the whole pictures of my family shtick and it really lost me.
Although the guy's sprites are great. He should work with a good writer and see what comes out of it.
The sprites are absolutely the best part. :D
Unrelatedly, here's a thing that legitimately dates to the 1920s. Slendy's been around a while.
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableI heard that Slendy-like tales, myths, and figures have been around for centuries, maybe longer. And, it seems, from the globe over. I wouldn't be surprised if the Something Awful goon who invented Slender Man was inspired by a story he heard. This is pure speculation, mind.
Incidentally, am I the only one who can't keep from hearing the theme to the old children's show Spectre Man when I hear of Slender Man? Anyone?

"What's out there? What's waiting for me?"Slenderman, Slenderman
Does whatever a slender can
I remember Victor Surge saying one of his inspirations was the Tall Man from the Phantasm series. So creatures like the Slender Man have existed before.
Most of the 'historical Slendy' accounts are retroactive, though, especially the folklore. So it's exciting to run across the ones that are genuine. :D

My favorite so far is <a href="http://creepypasta.wikia.com/wiki/The_Thing_That_Stalks_the_Fields">The Thing That Stalks the Fields</a>. I don't think it's been mentioned yet in this thread.
