-the Garbodor glares at the Riolu and Audrey, leaving an opening for Cesar to slam into it with Return. It stumbles backwards-

Spencer: <Yeah!>

Hunter: Serge, Marv, finish off that Walrein! Lauren, the Gastrodon!

-Serge fires off a Thunderbolt at the Walrein and Marvin hits it with Superpower. The combined attacks causes it to faint, leaving the Garbodor and Gastrodon. Lauren Slashes the Gastrodon with one blade. It uses Earthquake again, finishing off the Garbodor, and sending Serge down into very low health-

Serge: <... Owie...> @_@

Hunter: Finish this, guys!

-Cesar uses Return, Lauren uses Slash, Marvin uses Waterfall, and Serge runs in to use Crunch, all on the poor Gastrodon, which rather predictably faints-

Hunter: All right!

Spencer: <Yeah! Woohoo!>

Marvin: <Good work, guys!>

-he lumbers over to the Riolu-

Marvin: <Symbols! Other symbols! I knew you'd make it! Thanks for all the help!>

Verax: -Is paralyzed and shot, and he weakly grunts as he lies frozen on the floor-

- Is quiet for a moment, before suddenly hugging Tagg -

Oh, Tagg! I was so scared! That whole time I was so worried about you...

- A few tears welling up in my eyes as I briefly recall the first time I met with the trainers I would travel with, getting into a conversation with Tagg about Unova -

I didn't know how this would all end, but even though I was scared, I said I wouldn't interfere with what you had to do...

- I remember when we were all walking through the desert on Route 4, and ended up fighting an angry Krookodile. I recall asking if I could truly trust them, Tagg being the first to respond, saying I could certainly trust him -

Tagg... You're one of my closest friends...

- Back in Oblivia, I had just learned the truth regarding a certain secret two of my friends had been keeping from the rest of us, and made me promise to keep their secret as well, which I agreed to, considering the circumstnaces. Shortly afterwards, I caught up to Tagg, and while he naturally wondered what was going on, I managed to tell him at least a little bit without actually breaking the promise I'd just made, and he seemed to be satisfied when I told him I'd explain the rest later -

I was... so scared of losing you...

- I couldn't keep my promise, and eventually I ended up giving away the secret. He was angry at first, but after Wolf explained the situation, Tagg did calm down. I was intially uncertain whether I'd done something good or bad, but he and the others reassured me that I did the right thing -

I'm not sure why I came along, but... I wanted to make sure you came out of this alive... and... didn't lose yourself in the process...

- A few tears stream down my face as I continue clinging to Tagg, I briefly think about the Pokémon battle we had in Oblivia, and the time we discovered a particularly mysterious Odd Keystone in the Sinnoh underground -

I guess I can kind of understand why some things turned out the way they did...

- Recalls Tagg showing me exactly what he saw in the AU, as well as our conversation at the Pokémon Center shortly after the incident with Nihilist!Tagg -

Saying that Cipher did a lot of horrible things would be quite the understatement... Heck, I've almost been constantly worrying about everyone lately... Especially you...

- Sighs, thinking back to some of the things we talked about at different points in our journey -

Seeing what was happening to you... I... I don't know if there's anything I could've done to help keep it from happening... but, I guess I shouldn't think that way...

- Sniff -

Tagg... I didn't lose faith in you because... well, I feel I know you pretty well, and I was certain the Tagg I knew wasn't lost... yet, I also knew that I wouldn't know for sure what would become of you, not until this battle was over...

Phenac City

The Horde of Desert mons continues marching inside. They might be held back slightly be Eskay's mons.

Mezzanine

Lina: They're nearly here. Now, you can take my bishop and keep limping on for a little longer. Or you can sacrifice your queen, and get your mons back, but it's mate in five moves. And I get your mind.

Psyche: Take my queen. And give me back the mons. -She moves the queen.-

Lina: Emotions! Can't you see what a foolish move that was? You've lost the game!

Her mons collapse, fainted. Lina takes the queen and kisses it.

Lina: Emotions, Psyche - all for some stupid mons. And it was a pointless sacrifice anyway.

She grins and looks at them. ~So, Psyche... do you think the mons' death will affect your relationship with Mr. Eskay?~ A brainwashed Skarmory flies in and rushes the mons.

Galahad wakes up suddenly and uses Brick Break on the Skarmory. ~Guys, get out of here, and look after each other!~

Outside

More mons are being fired upon, and they stop suddenly, as they recognize the mons they are facing. <UPGRADE IN PROGRESS.>

Psyche: Your move. But before you take it, just so you know, sacrificing my queen was the best possible move I could have made. The Gothitelle invented chess. It's our game. And if you don't avoid MY trap, it gives ME mate in three moves.

Lina: Psyche. Psyche, Psyche, Psyche, Psyche, Psyche, Psyche, Psyche, Psyche! I'm pulling in extra processing power, so to speak! 3 thousand mons are working on one tiny chess problem. How long do you think it's going to take us to solve it?

Psyche: THAT'S CHEATING!

Sam looks at Jacob, trying not to panic "Okay, do you think the blast will do the ark any harm and or catch any debris from the blast?"

The flames of revenge have been doused... for now at least. Even if this doesn't mean the death of Cipher as a whole, the Orre branch is almost certainly dead.

-Clockwise has landed to Roost again, and Crewe has scrounged up a few Super Potions to spray Beedrill with-

Trixie: <Bumps and bruises. Nothing serious.>

Lockspur: <Mere trifles, really.>

-Beedrill whirrs, concerned-

I'm fine. I'll just... get a Burn Heal later.

-he beeps dubiously-

Really, Beedrill.

-she looks back at the large pile of Pokeballs and full Pokeball belts behind her, as well as the unconscious bodies of Pokemon laying beside the wall of Reflect and Light Screens-

You think—they're almost done?

-just as she says this, a loud roar is heard and a Garchomp, Hydreigon, and Metagross are released and charge the wall-

... Oh.

Lockspur: <... Well. At least the Garchomp has been Poisoned?>

Trixie: <Way to look on the bright side, Locky. Come on, you lot, we need to stop them!>

-Beedrill whirrs and hovers in front of Crewe-

-Clockwise narrows his eyes and takes to the air, circling above them-

I really, really hope this is the last of it.

-the Metagross stomps hard on the ground, causing an Earthquake. Crewe grunts and falls backwards from the attack, and Beedrill hits it in the face with a Shadow Ball. Trixie staggers from the Earthquake but calls up a Blizzard, hitting all three mons, though the Garchomp gets the worst of it. Lockspurr is hit hard by the Metagross's attack, panting as he hacks up a Toxic in the Hydreigon's face. Clockwise flaps his wings hard, lifting himself up higher in the air. The Garchomp and Hydreigon take damage from poison-

-the Hydreigon roars and fires a Dragon Pulse at Trixie, who dives frantically to the side-

-the Metagross causes another Earthquake, throwing Crewe back further. Lockspur is brought down to dangerously low health and pants, spreading his leaves to recover some health via Synthesis-

-the Garchomp charges Beedrill with claws coated in green flames, and the Rotom beeps in alarm and puts up a Protect just in time. The Garchomp proceeds to pound against the Protect screen with its claws, roaring unintelligibly, when a brown blur crashes into its back-

Clockwise used Sky Attack!

-the Garchomp roars and turns around, claws raised, when Trixie summons up another Blizzard. The Garchomp staggers backwards, in very bad shape, as poison continues to take its toll. Crewe snatches up her slingshot and fires a stone, hitting it between the eyes. It continues staggering backwards... right into the Metagross, who casually grabs it in a Psychic and tosses it at Clockwise. The Noctowl screeches and darts out of the way. The Garchomp hits the ground, unconscious-

One down... two to go.

Lockspur! You okay?

Lockspur: <Just... -pant-... just peachy, darling.>

Can you put the Metagross to sleep?

Lockspur: <I can try, dear, but no promises... If your bird would be so kind as to take me a bit closer, perhaps—>

-Clockwise swoops in and grabs Lockspur by one arm, bringing him up and over the Metagross-

-the Roserade shakes some powder free from his flowers and blows it at the Metagross, getting it in its eyes. The Metagross shakes its head, grunting, but slowly slumps forwards-

Thank Arceus. Now, the Hydrei—

Lockspur: <ACK!>

-a Dragon Pulse hits Lockspur, tearing him out of Clockwise's grip and throwing him against the side of a building. He slumps to the ground, unconscious-

Trixie: <LOCKSPUR! Oh, you'll pay for that one, you overgrown lizard! Eat this!>

-she focuses her Wide Lens and uses Focus Blast. The Hydreigon roars as the attack hits and Lockspur's Toxic continues to eat away at it. Beedrill drops a Thunder on the sleeping Metagross just before the rain clears-

-the Hydreigon swings its heads around, looking at the three standing Pokemon, then charges Trixie with a Shadow End. The Golduck yelps and throws up a Protect screen, being plowed back by the force of the attack regardless. Clockwise circles around behind it and uses Hyper Voice, distracting it from its target. Poison continues to hurt it. Beedrill, now lacking rain, fires a Shadow Ball at the Metagross-

-the Metagross stirs in its sleep-

-Crewe shoots the Hydreigon between the eyes of the middle head, which swings around to look at her. She starts scrambling backwards-

While it's distracted! Hurry!

-Trixie lines up another Focus Blast and hits the Hydreigon in the back, and Clockwise slams down on it from above with Return. Beedrill fires an Air Slash in its face. As the Toxic takes its toll once more, it collapses to the ground, unconscious-

Two down.

Quick, before—

-another Earthquake rips through the battlefield, sending Crewe crashing into the building beside her and Trixie skidding along the road. The Metagross heaves itself to its feet-

Ow...

-Trixie struggles to get back up-

Trixie: <Eurgh... dumb... shiny... thing...>

-she lifts her Wide Lens and manages a final, weaker Hydro Pump before collapsing-

Great. They're both out. Two left...

-Clockwise and Beedrill, unaffected by the Earthquake, both hit the Metagross with Shadow Balls. It doesn't seem to care much as it turns to look at them, then charges Beedrill, eyes flaring as it uses Shadow Break. Beedrill is slammed back into the wall and phases through it, leaving the Metagross with its face implanted in the brick. It tears itself out and turns to Crewe, but is somewhat distracted by a Shadow Ball hitting its eye. Crewe scrambles away as it turns to face Clockwise-

Clockwise: <   I will not permit you to hurt her.   >

-he fires another Shadow Ball. The Metagross's eyes glow, and suddenly it becomes nearly impossible for Crewe to stand as gravity intensifies. Clockwise comes crashing to the ground. He struggles to his feet, folding his wings back against his sides-

Clockwise: <   ... Come after me, then.   >

-the Metagross charges him with a Shadow End, but Clockwise throws up a Protect screen. A Shadow Ball hits the Metagross from behind as Beedrill reemerges from the building, whirring angrily-

-the Metagross turns and charges Beedrill, who also hastily throws up a Protect. Clockwise hits it from behind with another Shadow Ball-

-the Metagross backs up, looking from Beedrill to Clockwise-

Metagross: <   ...   >

Clockwise: <   Well? Come on, then.   >

Metagross: <   ...   >

-it turns and charges Crewe, its Aura flaring up again-

Clockwise: <   NO!   >

-Beedrill beeps loudly and leaps, placing himself in front of the charging Metagross. It crashes into him and both go flying into the wall, and then slump to the ground, unconscious-

...

Heh... good work...

???: <   Play now?   

Wha...?

-Crewe and Clockwise turn to see a purple, slimy dragon standing by the wall, head tilted-

Goodra: <   Play! Playplayplay!   >

Oh, no...

-Clockwise shifts to stand between it and Crewe, raising his wings-

Clockwise: <   I will not permit you to hurt her.   >

Clockwise... what is that thing...?

Goodra: -tilts its head the other way- <   Play with you!   >

-it wreaths its body in green flames and charges Clockwise, who throws up a Protect screen at the last second-

Goodra: <   Notfairnotfairnotfair!   >

-it angrily munches a Leppa berry-

... Damn.

Clockwise: <   Back away!   >

-he lets out a Hyper Voice, and the Goodra blinks... and lets out a Dragon Pulse, throwing Clockwise back into Crewe-

Gravity returned to normal!

-Clockwise launches himself into the air, just barely avoiding another Dragon Pulse, and circles the Goodra. It tilts its head and looks up at him, then looks at Crewe-

Goodra: <   You play?   >

-it opens its mouth again, but is interrupted by Clockwise folding his wings and crashing into it, slamming it into the ground-

-Crewe pulls herself to her feet using a low window sill and starts inching away from the battle-

-Clockwise lets out a Hyper Voice as he launches himself back into the air, climbing steadily higher and spiraling at erratically changing speeds to prevent the Goodra from getting an accurate lock on his flight patterns to hit him with a Dragon Pulse, though it tries anyway-

-Clockwise starts using Double Team, splitting into copies-

Goodra: <   ... So many to play!   >

-it starts firing Dragon Pulses at the copies almost as fast as Clockwise makes them, blowing them out of the air but never hitting the real Noctowl. The Clockwise clones all start flying around erratically, then in groups of one or two, folding their wings and divebombing the Goodra. It whips around and plows through several clones at once with an Aqua Tail, before being knocked to the ground by the real Clockwise, who swoops upwards again-

-the Goodra gets to its feet, looking angry-

Goodra: <   Don't play nice!   >

-it whirls around several times, then notices Crewe attempting to put distance between her and the battle-

Goodra: <   Don't like bird! Play with you!   >

-it runs at Crewe and smashes into her with Body Slam-

AGH!

-Crewe is slammed against the building and crumples to the ground-

-Clockwise screeches and dives down-

Clockwise: <   I SAID—   >

-the Goodra backs up and its Aura flares up as it prepares to use Shadow End on Crewe-

Clockwise: <   YOU ARE NOT! PERMITTED—   >

-he hits the ground just in time to take the attack for Crewe. He and the Goodra both hit the ground hard. The Goodra bounces back up-

Goodra: <   Keep playing!   >

A-Arceus... Clockwise...

-the Noctowl stirs, then slowly heaves himself to his feet, eyes blazing. He raises his wings to block Crewe from the Goodra's sight-

Clockwise: <   You will not hurt her.   >

-he opens his beak and fires a Hyper Beam at the Goodra, momentarily blinding Crewe. She closes her eyes and turns her head away until the light fades-

-she looks back at Clockwise's back. His body heaving from his labored breathing, Clockwise slowly folds his wings. Crewe looks around his side to see the Goodra collapsed on the ground, unconscious-

Good... good job, Clockwise...

-he immediately turns and nudges her arm over his shoulder, helping her to stand-

Clockwise: <   How badly are you hurt?   >

I'll... live. I hope... I hope that was the last of them.

Clockwise: <   Look.   >

-Crewe turns to see the assembled Peons backing away from the already almost totally disappeared wall of Reflects and Light Screens turning and fleeing back towards the beach-

We should... stop them.

Clockwise: <   No. We should get you to the hospital, and then collect our unconscious allies and bring them to the Pokemon Center.   >

... Fair enough. Just a sec...

-she slowly pulls out her phone and starts texting a message with one hurt hand-

I have their Trainer's number...

Hope he can read that...

Clockwise: <   Regardless. Come on.   >

Wait... one more thing...

-she takes a picture of the Goodra, then the unconscious mons and the pile of Pokeballs and Pokeball belts-

Gotta... send to the team...

-she struggles to type another message-

Clockwise: <   Stop. Allow me. Dictate.   >

-he gently takes hold of her finger with Psychic and starts slowly typing for her-

Clockwise: <   Now we go.   >

Yeah..

-Clockwise helps her onto his back and gently takes off-

I hope... Tagg gets back soon... I need... his Rainbow Wing...

-Crewe dozes off on Clockwise's back-
