-A certain group is up, and about in a room filled with military-grade mon armor on the walls-

<Lardna: "Whoa... That's a lot of gear...">

<Maurice: "Oh what I'd give for some arms right now...">

<(?): "How on earth do these rabble have such things?! It's better than the equipment in the captial's garrison!">

<Gabriel: "We made them.">

-And the group whirls around to see a certain Sceptile right behind them-

<Moogle: "How do you do that?">

<Andre: "GAH! Can't you just wa- I mean, if you wanted a fight, just ask first!">

<Gabriel: "I stick to the walls. And trust me, if I wanted a fight, it would be the last one you ever got into.">

<Andre: ._. "Meep.">

<(?): "He has a point. He's more of an ancient than you'll ever be. Not to mention a markedly better swordsmon, I'd presume.">

<Andre: "B-But I was just- Aww...">

<Moogle: "... Isn't he just on our side and that's the end of things?" ._.>

<Gabriel: "Actually, I prefer to hit foes from a distance.">

<Bottles: "Who buys this stuff?">

<Gabriel: "Anyone with the caps and a good enough attitude.">

<Eir: "... 'Caps'?">

<Maurice: "Bottlecaps, some of the settlements use them as money.">

<Gabriel: "... Did you all fall from the moon or something?">

<Pepper: "That's actually not too far off...">

-A loud bang and some commotion comes from the back room-

<??? #1: "OW! Mother of-!">

<??? #2: "I told you! No pointy-towardsies!">

<??? #1: "I didn't! The damn thing misfired!">

<Lardna: "... Was that a gunshot?">

<Gabriel: "And so what if it was? And hang on a second...">

-And goes into the back room-

<Gabriel: "What the hell is going on here?">

<Pepper: "Come on, we should probably help out...">

-And head into the back room and come across a Magnezone hovering over a Grotle-

<Gabriel: "How on earth did you manage to make a gun go off? You don't even have arms!">

<Grotle: "I d-don't know...">

<Magnezone: "One of the old fossils from Adytum apparently was still loaded!">

<Grotle: "Argh...">

<Gabriel: "Lemme see the wound...">

-Lying down to reveal a wound near the bushes on top of its carapace-

<Grotle: "Urgh... I-Is it serious?">

<Gabriel: "Oh come on, you big pansy! That's got to be the shallowest penetration from a misfire I've seen in the last 5 years!">

<Lardna: "... Remind me not to ask for a job here...">

<Gabriel: "Just stay still a moment.">

<Grotle: "Stay still a-? AUGH!">

-And has bullet pulled out via a Leaf Blade-

<Maurice: *flinch* "Ouch...">

<(?): "I don't understand how these barbarians can be so progressive in weapons, and so utterly backwards in everything else...">

<Lardna: ._. "Or ask for the doctor here...">

<Grotle: "(*whimper*) Y-You just st-stabbed me...">

<Gabriel: "And you no longer have a bullet in you... Now you can see a medic... Take the day off while you're at it.">

-And the Grotle lurches out of the room, still in a bit of shock from the impromptu bullet extraction-

-Eying the various dispensers of metal slugs lying around-

<Bottles: "... Why do you even have these?">

-Staring slack-jawed at a minigun the size of a subcompact-◊

<(?): "And what on earth is that?!>

<Gabriel: "Well, they don't call us 'Gun Runners' for nothing. And that's an Avenger. Humans used to carry 'em around on giant metal birds that died out with 'em.">

<Moogle: "Whoa... Wonder if they were ancients too...?"

<Eir: "What do you do with all of this?">

<Gabriel: "We sell it. Along with the armor you saw up front?">

<Bottles: "I get the armor, but what is a mon supposed to do with a gun?">

<Gabriel: "Towns like the big stuff... It's handy for shredding ferals... Mons that want your town off of the map...">

-Giving a bit of a leer to Maurice-

<Gabriel: "Shoplifters...">

<Maurice: O_O; "Eek.">

<(?): "Note to self: Whenever I get my body back, have this place annexed...">

<Gabriel: "Small stuff doesn't have many takers. Mostly mons that trade 'em off to humans.">

<Moogle: "... To humans?">

<The Adamant Orb? I have a feeling about what might've happened to it, so stick with us and we should figure it out eventually.>

Later, at the Cafe

Joe, Abra and Team Amaze are sitting in a corner of the cafe. "So if we find another one of these shards, we can get back home?" Joe asks

Beldum nods "MY SCANS INDICATE A NINETY PERCENT CHANCE OF SAFE RETURN TO OUR WORLD. THE REMAINING TEN PERCENT IS TRANSPORTATION TO ANOTHER WORLD".

"I think it's a risk worth taking" Primape says "Being in a pokeball ain't to great, but at least back home we get to beat up crims' "

"Okay then", Joe says. "We all grab the shard on three. You too Abra. Your annoying as hell, but your Tagalong Kid tactics pay off some times".

Nuzleaf sneaks up on the gang. He had been given a days grace by the Magnemite officers for helping out a bit at the fight.

They'd catch him eventually though. But now these guys were talking about a different world. A world where the police weren't after him.

Nuzleaf grabbed on to Joe, failing to notice the irony of the situation, as they popped off to a new world.

Skye: <I don't see why tourists would be so scared of this place. I mean, I'd actually feel more comfortable surrounded by Gators who would protect their guests at all costs...>

Diane: <Aww, she's thinking about Luke... How sweet...>

Passing!Swampmence: <Huh. That's a nice way of putting it, but most outsiders think w'er emore liable to well...eat them, rather than protect them. It's why we don't get many visitors from, say...the Mareep that live on the plains to the east.>

Luke: <Huh. To be fair, I don't blame them...>

Passing!Swampmence: <Anyway, I've got stuff I've gotta' be doing. Enjoy your visit.>

And with that, the passing Swampmence heads off to continue with his business.

Lake: <I guess we're not gonna' be short of things to do around here, then.>

Bandy: <I guess we'll go and check out the shops first.>

Monty: <What, so you can look for a Fire Stone to give to->

Bandy: <Can you please stop pestering me about her?>

Monty: <...I was talking about Kurama. You know, the Vulpix whose birthday is coming up in about a month?>

Bandy: <...Oh...>

Monty: <Geez, you must really care about that Growlithe if you think everything should be for her.>

Monty smirks. Bandy blushes under his fur.

Monty: <Anyway, we'll be going now. See you all later!>

They head off.

Lake: <Obviously. Bandy's acting just like I was when I first developed feelings for Nadia.>

Lake: <Ah-hah, yeah...So, how about we go and check out what's going on around here?>

Stratus: <Sounds good to me! Do you think they'll have an eating contest or something? Haven't been in one of those for a while!>

In a cave kept cold by large amounts of imported Ice, a Feraligatr and a Blastoise gaze at a large pile of meat gathered for the festivities.

Blastoise: <There's no way we're gonna' be able to keep all this meat after the festival, but just what in Earth are we going to do with it all? We can't just let it go to waste...>

The Feraligatr pauses to think of a solution, before suddenly having a brainwave.

Feraligatr: <Got it!>

Blastoise: <Oh?>

'''Feraligatr: <We'll just give it to the other carnivorous Pokémon around Johto! I'm sure they'ed appreciate the donation!>

Blastoise: <Oh...>

Feraligatr: <And perhaps we could use what we have left for an eating contest?>

Blastoise: <BRILLIANT!!!>

A little while later...

Lake: <It's a pretty good likeness, don't you think?>

Nadia narrows her eyes, gazing at a large Bubble Sculpture depicting her and Lake's likenesses locked in battle against a pair of dragon Pokémon.

Nadia: <Is it just me, or do I look a bit pudgy in this sculpture?>

Lake tilts his head curiously, before giving her a shrug.

Lake: <I think it's the bubbles, they add a few pounds...Nature of the medium, you know.>

Nadia: <Hmm...I suppose it's pretty cool. But it does leave me to wonder...>

Lake: <...Oh?>

Nadia glances at Lake.

Nadia: <If that Suicune from Oblivia taught you Bubble Shield in our timeline, where did you learn it in this one?>

Lake: <...Huh. Good question. Perhaps we should ask somemon?>

Nadia: <Leave that to me...>

The Salamence waves a paw to attract the attention of Swampert who seems to be in charge of the art insulation.

<Hey, I'm a bit rusty on my history. Can you tell me who taught the water types here Bubble Shield? From what I understand, isn't it something only the legendary Pokémon Suicune knows?>

The Swampert nods an affirmative.

Swampert: <Yup. She was the Pokémon who gifted our founder Lake with the knowledge of the protective power of bubbles. In fact, that's the subject of one of the sculptures here!>

Lake: <Oh?>

He points out another sculpture; this one depicting Lake - with Nadia as a Bagon clutched in his arms - staring in awe at the sight of the form of a Suicune standing on a rock gazing down at them.

Nadia: <Eurgh. I just had to be a Bagon in this one, didn't I?>

Lake: <Oh, hush. You look adorable.>

Swampert: <This here is Lake and Nadia encountering in Suicune for the first time. The story of Bluescale's founding goes that, upon returning to Johto after a journey to fight the dragons in a faraway land, they came across the legendary Pokémon of Suicune, who taught Lake the manipulation of bubbles in order to protect himself and his mate in their battles against the Dragons.>

Lake: <Oh, well that explains it...>

Off to the side, a certain Areodactyl has decided to perch on a bubble sculpture of Lord Pleo himself...

Zoltan: <Ooh, it's nice and squishy!>

Much to Teala's dismay.
