Muddy: <This place...it looks like a pile of junk.>
-Indeed, the entire town looks like it was made from cannibalized parts, mostly from wrecked cars-
<Let's see if we can find anything related to the water chip around here.>
-My eyes then turn towards some humans and Pokemon wearing light brown robes-
<Who are those guys?>
Vault Dweller: Your guess is as good as mine.
<I'm sensing something...off about them. It's best that we be careful.>
On a boat en route to Hoenn, PMD-B
Thresher: I feel like we ought to have made it there already.
Maxi: You've said that for several days already. I can't control the winds you know, and they've been bad these past few days.
Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite.

Skye wakes up... face to face with a Houndoom. Naturally, her first reaction is to get away as fast as possible.
Houndoom: <Aww, come on, that's not very nice. I didn't jump on you this time.>
Skye blinks, then looks at where Lake is sleeping. Next to him, a shiny Houndoom is waiting for him to wake up.
Skye: <...Monty? Bandy? You've evolved!>
Houndoom!Monty: <Nice to see you too, Skye.>

-Jab is poking Salamence- <...Have you been asleep the whole week?>
Salamence: <....Maybe.>
Jab: <Wait, then how are you talking?>
-Salamence just chirps-

Spinda's Cafe
A rather ragged looking Sceptile and his Charizard and Kingdra companions are drowning their sorrows at the Spinda Café, the Wood Gecko Pokémon in question lying with his head on the table.
Treeo: <...It's hopeless...>
They had spent the past couple of weeks searching Treasure Town and it's surroundings for Nazz, Treeo's missing daughter, but after seemingly turning the whole town upside down looking for her, their search had proven fruitless, and he was starting to give up hope.
Much to Comet's concern.
Comet: <Come on, don't give up. You can't. Otherwise we'll never find her...>
Treeo raises his head, glancing up at the Charizard glumly.
Treeo: <But we've searched everywhere. We even hired an Exploration Team to search for her and they didn't have any luck finding her...>
A certain snobby Kingdra pauses from slurping his Pecha Juice from a straw to give him a disapproving look.
Phyco: <That's because they were a bunch of hicks.>
Comet shoots the seahorse a sharp glare, considering popping his bubble of water to make a point...but who was she kidding? That would only mildly annoy him, and she didn't want to make a mess. So she settles on ignoring him for the time being.
Treeo: <Maybe...maybe I just need to accept that I'm never...>
Treeo sniffles, on the verge of tears. Desperate not to see her friend break down, Comet quickly tries to think of a place they hadn't checked that Nazz could be, if only to provide a tiny bit of hope.
Comet: <Why don't we go home and check there?>
The Sceptile pauses, raising an arm to wipe his eyes with the back of his claw.
Treeo: <...Home?>
Comet: <Sure. Who's to say she didn't use one of those shards to warp back to the PEFE? That's where Umbra's Pokémon live, after all.>
Even Phyco seemed to agree, giving Comet a nod of agreement.
Phyco: <She's got a point. Most fry try to make their way home when they get lost, and I doubt yours would be an exception.>
Sitting himself up, Treeo takes a few seconds to pounder this.
Treeo: <...It...it does make sense. Perhaps she's been at home waiting for us all this time?>
Comet: <Yeah! She could be right there waiting for her Dad to get back home! Besides...>
She grins awkwardly.
<We've been gone a long time. Luke and the others are probably worried sick about us.>
Treeo: <Oh, fair point...>
Phyco gives the two a curious look.
Phyco: <So we're heading back home then?>
Comet looks to Treeo for confirmation, the Sceptile giving her a nod of approval.
Treeo: <Yeah, let's go home.>
The Charizard smiles happily, then pulls out the large amount of shards they had collected so far.
Phyco: <Oh no, not those things...>
Comet: <Relax. Now that we've found so many, it's pretty much guaranteed that they'll get us where we wanna' go!>
Phyco gives Comet a weary look, snorting a few small bubbles from his snout.
Phyco: <Can I at least finish my drink first?>
Comet: <Go ahead, I've got something to do first...>
Raising an arm, the Charizard waves to attract the Spinda bartender's attention.
<Hey, Spinda! Thanks for the drinks!>
The Spinda waves back.
Spinda: <You're welcome~>
Comet: <Good. Okay, are we done?>
She turns back to Phyco, who has just slurped down the last few dregs of his juice.
Phyco: <Well, at least if something bad happens to us, I won't die on an empty stomach...>
Comet: <...I'm gonna' take that as a yes.>
She shifts her gaze to Treeo, who nods an affirmative.
Treeo: <...I'm ready.>
The Charizard nods, flashing the Sceptile a toothy grin.
Comet: <Okay, hold onto something, peoplemons, we're going home...>
And with that, she flicks one of the shards...
Pokéthlon Dome
...And instead of ending up at the PEFE, the three instead find themselves in the middle of a large stadium, surrounded by a cheering crowd.
Phyco: <...>
Treeo: <...Er...>
Comet: <...What.>
Announcer: "WHOA! Hold the phone, it seems another team of Pokéathletes has appeared as if from nowhere!"
Comet: <"Pokéathletes?">
Treeo gasps in shock, having just realized where they've ended up.
Treeo: <I know where we are! This is the Pokéthlon Dome in Johto!>
He pauses to gulp in fright.
<And it looks like we've dropped in right in the middle of a competition!>
???: <GANGWAY!>
The three Pokémon turn, only to see a rather large Snorlax charging at them...
ALL: <AAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!>
...Only for him to aim a kick at Phyco and his bubble, sending the Kingdra shooting through the air...
Phyco: <WAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!>
...And into a nearby goal, the Ledyba goalkeeper too shocked by the fact that the ball was screaming to attempt to block it.
Announcer: "And Bobby's Snorlax Lazy scores with...a Kingdra? How many points is that worth?
Bluescale Swamp
In a more peaceful setting, Lake is sleeping along with Luke and Stratus, unaware that a Houndoom is hovering around him. After a few minutes, the Feraligatr lets out a yawn, opening his eyes groggily.
Lake: <Morning...>

Lake's realization is loud enough to wake Luke and Stratus up.

Stratus gives the two a frightened look.
Stratus: <Eep! Are you going to drag us to the underworld?> ._.

Bandy: <Nah, just messing with you all. So, how've you been since your visit to the Lake of Rage?>
Eskay: <It's actually still called the Lake of Rage?>
Stratus: <Pfft, I can deal with the sea floor, easy...>
Luke: <I can't.>
Lake: <We've, er...>
He wasn't sure how they would take being told of the events leading up to now, so he decided not to for the time being.
<...We've done a lot of travelling. So, how have you two been? I see you've evolved since we last saw you.>
