Mount Moon, Route 3 (Part II)

As the sun starts setting in the Kanto sky, the Nidos start searching for a place to shelter for the nigh, or more accurately, for the time being. They were only a stone's skip away from the Efrafa warrens, but just out of their patrol range, as, according to Skree, "Dem poison'orns dun go neer th' mountain" (Which was completely understandable to the Sandelford Nidos).

After a small patrol around the mountainside, the group found an adequate shrub on which to dig a temporary borrow underneath. Although it's normally the doe's job to dig the burrow, bucks CAN dig if the situation arises, such as now. After a some time of digging doggedly at the hard earth, a rough yet suitable temporary warren has been made for the tired bucks and their feathered companion to rest. Just before the young Skree could join the others in the safe haven of the underground, Hazel-Rah and Laurel approach him.

Skree: <Ah, what den you two big'uns want?>

Hazel-Rah <We wish to talk to you Skree. If it doesn't bother you, that is.>

Skree: <Ah, Skree sees. Whut den yah want teh talk tah leetle Skree 'bout den?>

Laurel: <Did it ever occur to you why we were travelling, away from the warren?>

The little bird scuffled around and thought. The more he thought about it, the more he did find it odd. When he flew with his once sizeable flock, he passed over many Nidoran warrens. He knew that Nidorans seldom wander from their warrens, those who do usually either die or get captured. He looks back at the two and eyes them.

Skree: <Now tha' Skree thinks 'bout it, the more 'e finds it perculi-ah. Why 're yah poisen'orns so far aweh from yah big hidey'ole?>

The two Nidos explain to Skree their situation and the plan while bird listens. While Skree consideres the two as Mad as a March Lopunny, he can sympathise with them, slightly.

Skree: <Ah, th' lack o' mudders has droven yah mad. While Skree do think yer heads be stuffed wif wool, Skree will help yah. Skree owns yeh 'is life afta all.>

Hazel-Rah <Okay, we ask you two do two things Skree.>

Laurel: <The first one is rather simple. You shall become our messenger.>

Skree: <Aye?>

Laurel: <If I am to be successful in assimilating into the Warren, I will need to relay messages here. With you being able to fly, we can relay from here to there with relative ease.>

Skree: <How ye gunna make shure yah don't git caught, aye?>

Laurel: <I'll slink away and meet you in private. Granted it will probably be harder than it looks, but I'll manage.>

Hazel-Rah <The other one we ask you is to see if you can find a passable route across Mt Moon.>

Skree: <?>

Hazel-Rah <The cave is much too dangerous to escape through, with a large party of does, we'll be easy pickings for them. We cannot risk going through the caves once more. So was ask of you to find a passing over the mountain that would be safer than the deathly labyrinth of which we arrived through.>

Skree: <Skree sees now. Now can Skree nest 'is 'ead?>

The two Nidos nod as they let the Spearow rest in the borrow. Laurel and Hazel stay out for a moment, talking to each other about the plan and then, the moon. Though it was not long before they too slipped into the makeshift warren and the Mountain was silent once more.

In the centre of Treasure Town, a small, green Rufflet is waiting patiently. He has a letter in his beak, a red ribbon bowtie with a tag that reads "Minty" and a card placed on his headfluff that reads "For Fortis"

Melody wipes the splattered chocolate cake off of her face with a vine and eats it.

In her back tree, Ulysses is watching the events, with a big, stupid ":3" on his smug (and adorable) little face.

The Dragonite screws up his face in disgust at the saliva drenched crate he's currently holding in his paws. Hopefully it would be dry by the time they reached Stratopolis.

Lake: <Listen, most of the others are staying at Treasure Town. Just fly South from here and you should find it easily. We'll be back there later once we've finished our mission.>
