Volkner: *sweatdrops* Hmmm... *sends out Charizard*

Charizard: *roars*

Volkner: Use Dragon Pulse.

Charizard: *breathes blue fire at Gummy*

"Okay, um... Slash!"

"Just go ahead and Surf 'im, Marv," Hunter says, sounding amused.

James rushes Marvin, one paw drawn back with claws extended. Marvin waits for him to get close, then draws up an enormous wave, the rain making it swell to enormous size, then sends it crashing down on the Heatmor. James fights through it just far enough to swipe at Marvin, who draws back just enough that it just scratches his muzzle, then the Heatmor is sent crashing at Ashley's feet. He leaps up, snarling.

"Keep him at a distance, Marvin. Another Surf."

"Um, um... Flame Burst!"

James fires off an attack, but it's swallowed up in Marvin's wave, which crashes down on top of the Heatmor.

"Now for the secret weapon... Giga Impact!"

"What?"

Marvin grins as an aura begins to surround him. He charges James, paws balled into fists. The Heatmor struggles to his feet and fires off a Flame Burst just as the last of the rain clears. Marvin shrugs it off, however, and barrels head on into his opponent, sending him flying. James hits the wall of the cliff behind them and drops to the ground, knocked out. Marvin bends over, panting.

"Okay, okay, hold on. How does Marvin know that move?!" Ashley demands.

"Birthday present," Hunter says simply. "Now, you said James and Cole were your two strongest, right? Well, both of them are unconscious. Care to surrender?"

"But not all of our Pokemon have battled yet!" Ashley protests. "At least give them a try."

Hunter sighs. "All right, fine. Marv, come back." He motions for hi Bibarel to rejoin him, which he gladly does.

"I have four Pokemon ready to battle. You have three. I'll choose first."

He motions to the Kricketune behind him.

"Lauren? You're up."

<Oh, really? I'm glad I'm not fighting that Heatmor.>

<You'll do fine.> Marvin pats her shoulder and she takes her place in front of Hunter.

"Kricketune? Okay... Clockwise or Domino, whichever one of you wants to go..." Ashley glances at the two birds, who glance at each other.

<What's going on? Is it night time?> Clockwise asks. Domino facewings.

<I'll do it. Hi, Lauren.> The Fearow lifts off and settles down in front of the Kricketune.

<Oh, hi, Domino! You won't go too hard on me, will you?> Lauren takes up a battle stance, readying her blades.

<No worries,> he says, smiling.

<See? Why can't the other three be like that?> Cesar says, throwing his wings up.

Forecaster: -Floats over to the Gastrodons- <Yeah, we've been collecting them to try to get rid of this Twilight.>

Nudi's Dad: -Bemused- <Oh, I know what this is about. She's been looking at Nudi this whole time. Has he tried singing to you yet er?

Forecaster: <Forecaster, and no.>

Nudi: -Confused- <Why would I do that? Forecaster and I are just friends after all.>

"I really hope the route to Olivine has some good Pokémon. At times I feel like taking the Magnet Train and going off somewhere else..."
