"Rain Dance, Lockspur," Hunter calls.

<Oh, but that'll make things bit dark... Ah well, it'll add a little sparkle to this party.>

The Roserade does a twirl, causing rain clouds to gather. Rain starts falling, turning the sand dark.

"Poison Jab, Ion!" Ashley calls.

Ion, rather than attacking Lockspur with a Poison Jab, charges him as he did Trixie—covered in raging purple flames.

"You can't switch out of Outrage, Ash!" Hunter calls gleefully. "Dodge him, Lock!"

Lockspur gracefully twirls out of the way.

<Tut tut. Such bad form. I suppose I'll have to correct it for you later.>

Ion, not hearing him, stops a short distance away and shakes his head, putting both hands to his face and moaning.

"... What? Ion! Poison Jab!"

"He's confused, Ash; really, didn't that tutor teach you anything about Outrage? Lockspur, I think you know what to do. In case you don't, use Weather Ball."

<Don't diminish me, dear,> Lockspur calls in a sing-song voice. <I know how to beat a clumsy lug like this one.>

Are guys sure this Roserade is a guy? Because I'm not. Did I miss a memo here or something? Do Narrators get memos?

Ion is hit in the back and lurches forward, yelping.

<You cry like a child, darling,> Lockspur says sweetly. <Now do stand still.>

He fires more Weather Balls, dancing from side to side. Ion sluggishly tries to avoid them and focus on his opponent, but his vision keeps blurring and multiplying.

<Why are there so many of you...?> he demands, lunging towards him with a Poison Jab drawn back. Lockspur draws away, easily evading.

<Aww, you're seeing me everywhere? How sweet. But we've only just met! Besides, I don't hang out with Pokemon as ugly as you.>

"He's weak enough to go down in one more hit; Why not make it your specialty?" Hunter calls, grinning.

<Oh, excellent! Let's make a spectacle!>

Lockspur draws back, then fires a Leaf Storm at Ion, dancing around to make the leaves scatter. The Nidoking grunts under the blow and drops to one knee.

"Ion! Earthquake!'

Shaking his head, Ion slams a fist into the ground, sending an earthquake through the battlefield. Lockspur is thrown off balance and hits the sand near the water. He gets up slowly, prepared to fire off another attack, but Ion collapses.

Ashley frowns and recalls him. "Good job, buddy. Now, James, if you—"

"Marv, go for it!"

"Wait, what? You can switch Pokemon?" Ashley looks confused, but James leaps forward onto the field.

"Yep. And I'm replacing Lockspur..." Hunter recalls the Roserade, who smirks and waves at James, "... With Marvin."

The Bibarel moves onto the battlefield and takes up a battle stance.

<Aw, dude, but you're one of the not-jerks! I don't want to beat you up!> James complains, stomping his foot.

<Don't worry. You won't.> Marvin smirks and motions for James to bring it on with one paw.

James narrows his eyes. <Oh. It is on, beaver boy.>

<Over reaction, much?> Domino whispers to Six. The Scyther shrugs.

Sendoff Spring

Riolu!Kim: <Don't worry about it. :3> *purrs* <... ... ...Did I just purr?>

Youko: <You're adapting to being a Pokemon well.>

Riolu!Kim: *sweatdrops nervously*

Near Sendoff

Lina: -to Kim- Since when do dogs purr?

Eowyn: -purrs-

Lina:...Don't taunt me.
