Silent arrives at the route for the second time in the day. He has been spending a lot of time going back and forth across the route because he has been looking for Helios and Algira, without much success.

"Darn... And I was supposed to meet up with Jeff early today... I hope he is still waiting for me."

Sol -frowns: <Didn't you equip Algira a tracker right after the middle part of the Gold Conference?>

Ichtacya: <How do you know about that?>

Sol simply walks closer and looks Silent up. Her head jewel then shines, and she lets out a sigh.

Sol: <Oh, it's not responding. You know, that could simply mean they got into the Dark Cave tunnel...>

"Hmmm, good point. I'll have to recheck later."

Silent marches to Cherrygrove, slowly.

Amberjack: -squeaks happily-

Steven: -is with Silent, and is, ironically, being silent-

Fortis: Are you one of Piano's mons? You don't look creepy enough but she did have that big yellow one with the hair so maybe she has other less creepy ones too...

- Is sort of just humming to myself as we walk down the route towards Sendoff Spring -

Amberjack: -climbs up onto Fortis' shoulder- <No, I'm Katie's mon. My name is Aberjack.>

-grabs box-

Fortis: You're so cute. Would you like to meet Mercury?

Mercury: <You called, boss?>

Amberjack: -is she around the Murkrow- <Hello.>

Pastoria, inside Mezzo's tent

Fortis: It's okay, he doesn't bite.

Mercury: <Hi, boss.> -waves a wing-

Amberjack: <You're not going to tease me, are you?>

Mercury: <Why would I tease you, boss?>

- Is for whatever reason thinking back to my journey again, trying to remember what order certain things happened in -

Amberjack: <The other mons used to tease me, before I met my first trainer... They said I look weird...>

Pastoria, somewhere

Hunter's and Ashley's battle was cancelled due to Cesar's sudden decision that he's sick of rain, so the next day they head out to the beach, where it's sunny. The two release their teams, and suddenly Hunter seems to realize something.

"Hey, Ash?"

"What? Suddenly chicken?" Ashley asks, teasing.

"Um, you realize you only have like, two types, right? And I can beat all of them?" Hunter raises an eyebrow.

"Actually, I have six types. Cole, Clockwise, and Domino are all Normal/Flying. But I also have Bug, Poison, Ground, and Fire."

"Yeah, whatever, six types. But, um, you have four Flying types. Serge counters all four of them," Hunter says, gesturing towards the posturing Luxio. "And Trixie and Martin can both easily counter the other two."

<Whoa! That 'duck can not counter me,> James says, setting his fists on fire.

<I already kicked your butt, nose boy. Want me to do it again?> Trixie crosses her arms, narrowing her eyes.

<You two. I said truce,> Cesar snaps.

"Okay, so you have some type advantages," Ashley says. "Your point?"

"Well, that's not it. Like I said, I've spent weeks training against other trainers. All my Pokemon are pretty strong. How often do you train?"

"Um... whenever a trainer sees me and demands a battle," Ashley says, still not quite getting it.

"And how often does that happen?"

"Well, we spend a lot of time in the wilderness, so... a couple times a month? Plus angry wild Pokemon," Ashley says after a moment of thought.

<Actually, we run away from wild Pokemon mostly,> Ion corrects.

<Dude, he can't understand you,> James says, rolling his eyes.

<Oh, right.>

"Okay, and considering Clockwise was only recently caught, none of your Pokemon spend a lot of time training..." Hunter says, motioning with his hands for Ashley to track this thought process.

"What's your point, Hunter?" she asks, tapping her foot.

Hunter sighs. "Let's try it this way. Who's your strongest Pokemon?"

"Hm... Cole or James."

<No offense dude, but it's totally me. You're kind of a wimp.>

<You want to say that again, James?>

"Okay... what are their strongest moves?"

"Well, James has Slash, and Cole has Air Slash."

"Okay, so look at my Pokemon. Cesar knows Brave Bird, which the strongest move Staraptor can learn. Trixie knows Hydro Pump. Are you getting it?"

Ashley sighs. "Hunter, you're leading up to something. Just spit it out."

Hunter facepalms. "You obviously don't get it. Basically, I'm going to stomp you into the mud."

"Sand."

"Whatever."

"Okay, wise guy, let's just see."

"Suit yourself."

"Cole!"

"Serge."

-Jeff is still in the café, taking advantage of the free wifi they offer to play some games on his laptop while waiting for the researcher to arrive-

Pastoria

-is trying to train Mix, but the Leafeon appears more interested in chasing falling leaves than looking around the routes for anything to fight-

"All right Cole, that's do this. Air Slash!"

"Swagger, Serge," Hunter stands with his arms crossed, looking almost bored.

Cole gets off his attack, but Serge rolls off to the side and comes up smirking.

<You ready to dance, feather brain? When I'm done with you, your big purple friend will have to cart you off the battle field!>

<Oh, you are going down, fluff ball!> Cole starts to see as his anger level rises.

"Oh boy... Quick Attack!"

"You know what to do."

Cole raises his wings, then dives fast towards Serge. Unfortunately, his aim is off and he crashes several feet to the left.

<Too. Easy.> Serge coats himself in electricity and charges headlong into Cole, making the Pidgeot squawk loudly.

"Get up, Cole! Use Quick Attack again!" Ashley bites her lip and hops up and down.

"Charge, and then Spark." Hunter smirks, arms still crossed.

Cole heaves himself to his feet and shakes himself, then dashes at Serge again, who is charging electricity in his fur.

"Wait, Serge..." Hunter says softly. The Luxio growls and digs his claws in as the bird approaches. Cole's vision is a little clearer and his aim is true.

"Now!"

Serge lets off a Spark just as Cole crashes into him, the Charge increasing its power. Cole's attack knocks the Luxio back and he hisses in pain, digging his claws into the sand.

The two separate, both shaking their heads.

"Well, Swagger's pretty risky," Hunter says, shrugging. "Serge, Leer and Spark again."

"Quick Attack. Finish it!"

<With pleasure,> Cole hisses, shaking his head again and mantling his wings before charging. Serge waits for him, leering, then crashes into his underbelly while coated in electricity.

"Again!" Hunter calls.

Serge jumps back, then headbutts Cole again.

"Don't let him escape!" Hunter yells as the Pidgeot starts trying to hop away. Serge Bites down on his wing, pinning him with one paw.

"Spark. Finish him off."

<You know it. Say g'night, beaky,> Serge snarls gleefully.

"Cole—"

Before Ashley can finish her command, Serge rams his electrified head into his stomach.

<Y'know... your leader's... a bird... too...>

Cole passes out, and Serge steps back.

"Well done."

Ashley makes a face and recalls the Pidgeot. "Fine. Domino."

"Okay, hold it right there," Hunter says.

"What?" Ashley asks.

"Look. Serge is an Electric type. You know that, I've seen his page in that stupid book of yours."

"Hey!"

"Let me finish. You know what's strong against Electric types? Ground types. You know what isn't? Flying types. So why in the name of Arceus are you sending out another Flying type when there's a Ground type right next to him."

"Um... So... Ion? I guess you're up."

"Thank you."

<You've got to be kidding me,> Serge growls, facepawing.

<Hunter, dear, I think you perhaps should've thought that through a step further,> Lockspur says, raising a flower.

Go Ion! ^.^

Cherrygrove

Silent and Steven arrive to the town and head to the cafe.

Ichtacya and Sol are leaping around the fences and poles across town, when Sol senses something and stops.

Ichtacya -stops as well, looks back: <Something happened, Sol?>

Sol narrows her eyes as she looks to the north, then shakes her head and follows.

You'd think I'd remember the order some of these things happened in... Up until the incident in the Distortion World, I went through the exact same stuff twice...

... Speaking of which, I wonder how the other DS is doing?

The AU, somewhere in Sinnoh

- AU!DS is laying in the grass, not really caring that she might get devoured by Zigzagoons by doing so -

AU!DS: (sighs) What am I supposed to do?

- She pulls out her Legend Badge, examining it -

AU!DS: ... The other me would talk to you in order to keep herself from going insane with loneliness while she was stuck in that dark world, didn't she? (puts the badge back into her pocket) Not that there's much point for me to do so, seeing as she basically talked to it as if it were her boyfriend... I could just find Wolf and go talk to him... (sits up, staring around at her surroundings)
