Meanwhile, somewhere else

Newscaster person: (on either a TV or radio, or both) ... So, there is nothing new to report on Sinnoh's current state. We can only hope that group of trainers who are always saving stuff are on the case. In other news, a group of scientists have confirmed that owls are indeed birds.

Ecruteak

Silent wakes up somewhere, does something and decides to call some of his Pokémon to assist him on a trip to the supermarket and the Pokémart to get angry groceries. Ichtacya and Sol will be following.

Helios and Algira are staying on a tree, with Algira explaining to Helios what trees he can gather [sweet honey] from; Helios listens to it attentively, taking note of where do the trees grow and what mons can he find around. At some point though Helios looks down to see Silent leaving and turns to Algira.

"<Uhm, Algira?>" — he asks. — "<I forgot to tell your Trainer some important things...>" — After flashing some inquisitive patterns, Algira hovers besides Helios. — "<Well he is gone... what is it?>" — "<See, while I was sleeping yesterday, I met the rest of my team (offscreen) and they have news from Sinnoh.>" — he then proceeds to explain some of the situation and convinces Algira to help him explain [once] Silent is back from groceries.

Johto Nidoran Colony

Hamada and his group notice the Jolteon on the clearing, holding a [Mint Berry]; with a swift motion of his horn the Nidorino commands the other to surround him in a friendly [half]-circle formation.

"<Hello there, Jolteon?>" asks Hamada, walking in.

"<Oh hai!>" — salute the other Nidorinos, waving horns and paws.

Hamada continues. "<I see you are bringing a Mint Berry, are you the Jolteon Maekrite said would be coming in, [by] any chance?>"

Valley Windworks - Sinnoh

Wild Drifloon: <Oh it's Friday, Friday, gotta' get down on->

Suddenly and perhaps thankfully, the Drifloon's song is ended by a black streak shooting pass and slashing the balloon Pokémon to ribbons. The ghost Pokémon shrieks in pain, then slowly drifts to the ground, fainted, and deflated of air.

Meanwhile, the unidentified streak flies up, glances down at it's target, then dives down and lands next to it, revealing herself to be a Staraptor. Quickly, she begins to poke around the inside of the felled Drifloon with her beak (A rather disgusted look on her face as she does so), seemingly looking for something.

Wild Staraptor: <C'mon, It must be inside this bag of gas somewhere...> Stops with a start. <OH! Gotcha'!>

The bird Pokémon withdraws her beak from the Drifloon, a small glowing teardrop clasped within.

A newscast being broadcast to the Kanjoh area

Newscaster: And now, we bring you an update on that shipwreck in the Whirl Islands. A body has been found inside the wreckage of a part of the ship. The body has been identified by several people as J-Team member Straw. The 16-year old was reportedly taking a vacation there. More on this story as it breaks.

Straw's Island

-I am walking to what I believe to be a makeshift tent, oblivious that the whole world thinks that my body is in a Johto morgue. Upon finding the camp, I notice a small book on a rock with a skeleton clutching the book-

I wonder what this is...

-I pry it out of the hands of the skeleton and begin to read it-

Book: I don't know how long it will take for me to get off of this island, or even if I will get off the island. All I know that I am keeping this journal to keep me from losing my sanity while marooned here.

So this is the journal of someone who died here...

I have found a tribe of water Pokemon living in a cave. They were carrying a few Pidgey into the cave, presumably to eat them. It reminded me of when my Flaaffy went missing a few weeks ago(or has it been days, I've lost count) How I wish he was still here...Could it be that they took him? If so, then how...

Nido Colony

Pierce: <Yep! Big Brother Maekrite said to come here, and Mr. Silent said to bring this.> *wiggles the berry*

Hearing Goggles voice, the Staraptor glances at him. Not knowing what a Krookodile is, the bird Pokémon let's ou a large screech, spreading her wings to make herself look larger and more imposing.

Wild Staraptor: <Stay back, it's mine!>

Goggles: (grins) <Hi!> (walks over and shakes the Staraptor's wing) <Nice to meet you! You gathering those for Mesprit too?>

This was certainly NOT the reaction the Staraptor was expecting from...whatever this Pokémon was. It seemed simillar to how some other Pokémon had described these large blue and yellow river reptiles from down south, but was red and black instead. Perhaps they were related?

Even so, they were supposed to be viscous predators, and she wasn't keen to take her chances with this one's friendly demeanor. Pulling her wing away, the Staraptor hops back, shaking her crest angrily.

Wild Staraptor: <I don't know what a "Mespirit" is, but I found this thing, and I'm keeping it!>

Goggles: (smiles) <Do you watch "My Little Blitzle"?>

Chase: (sweatdrops, flying over) <Um... Sorry about that, my teammate here tends to be a bit... weird.> (clears throat) <Anyways, thing is... The legendary Pokémon Mesprit of Lake Verity has asked us and some other trainers and their Pokémon to help gather these fragments of her power in order to save Sinnoh from the one who has caused it to fall under this spell.>

Johto Nidoran Colony

"<Oooooh!>"

"<Aaaaah!>"

A single Nidorino rolls his eyes. "<Come on guys, as if we didn't see Mint Berries here every day...>". — To that another of the Nidorino smacks him. — "<Hush, we are being nice to the visitor.>" — replies Uimke.

Hamada steps up and greets Pierce. "<Aaah, very good! It will be interesting to see what you can do. Say, why don't you join our morning exercises? Once we're finished we have a combat session, Maekrite will be there!>"

Some of the Nidorinos make a hole for Pierce to join in their ranks.

Mahogany Town

A girl is watching the news report in the hostal with some of the guests.

An old man was talking to a sailor. "Did you hear that? That must have been a nasty shipwreck..." The sailor replied something about whirls and pathetic HMs he had to teach to his mons just because of them.

"Excuse me," interrupted the girl, "what is this 'J-Team' they are talking about?"

"Oh that?" replied the sailor, then shrugged — "Must be some cosplayers or something. I heard something about some fan conventions in Hoenn from the last luxury cruise sailing from there..."

Whatever this lizard was, he didn't seem to be entirely there. Or perhaps he was simply acting like a moron to lull her into a false sense of security? Waiting for her to put her guard down before preying on her? Either way, the Staraptor was going to keep a close eye on him.

Oh, another flying Pokémon? Like the reptile, she had never seen a Pokémon like it before either, perhaps another outsider. He didn't look particularly dangerous, apart from those rather long and powerful looking legs. Judging by it's rather extravagant crests and colorful plumage, it was easy to tell that it was a male.

What he was saying, though, seemed to make as much sense as anything the lizard had been babbling about, perhaps even more-so. Legendary Pokémon? Trainers? Evil spell? What was all this nonsense?

One part stood out, though: Spiritomb. She knew what they were. Especially with all the trouble she and the others had been having with them as of late...

Wild Staraptor: <Wait, Spiritomb?> Tilts her head. <Do you know something about them?>
