I suppose I ought to tell the others this then.

-Every is looking for Mezzo to tell her that he's going to Dewford-

Shahinne — <♫~> — lands, puffs chest proudly.

Shahinne looks amazed at the electricity powers of the Jolteon.

"...Look out!"

Shahinne extends her wings to fly away just as the Thunder comes down at her. The Starly manages to evade the hit, but the resulting shockwave sings her talons and blast her off-course, making her land harshly on the floor.

"Shahinne!"

Maekrite shakes himself up, tries to swing Fireball away but is hit by the Iron Tail on the head first, and sent rolling on the ground.

Shahinne — <Oooff... bad light! Bad light! Not like with rainbow bird!>

"Shahinne, carefully get up and Double Team into a no wait I can't send her to peck that kind of fur... let's see, a Secret Power."

Shahinne flies off carefully, then two other Shahinne images appear. Together they start circling above the Jolteon and charging colour-changing energy on their beaks.

"Maekrite? Can you use this sunlight to recover?"

Maekrite — <Yeah, I can... just lemme...>

Maekrite focuses his power and his yellow marks start glowing gold. Using the fading Sunny Day effect to power up his Morning Sun, the Nidorino recovers most of his energy.

Maekrite -bristles up, scratches the ground — <Round two!> — charges ahead.

Rustboro City

-walks out of the gym holding up a brand new Stone Badge-

Easiest gym ever. You were great, Spiny!

Spiny: <But biting rocks isn't fun.>

Well, that's what your Waterfall attack is for.

Mikan Island

Forte: Where did you teach your Nidorino to do that?

Fireball: <Aww, no more sun...>

Electro: <Yay, now it's easier to zap things!>

Forte: All right. Fireball, see if you can Fire Fang one of those Starlies! Electro, try and hit the Nidorino with Thunder!

-Fireball pounces at a Shahinne image, while Electro charges up her fur and fires a lightning bolt skyward to drop on Maekrite-

-sees Mezzo, walks over- Oh, you got a Stone Badge? Awesome!

Slateport City: Contest Hall (Hyper Rank)

May and Felix slipped in through the sliding door, the latter looking around the room in curiosity. Similar to the Battle Tent, it had a checkerboard floor pattern, although this one was brown and black rather than black and white. Off to the side, a trio of people seemed to be standing around some kind of odd machine, a whirring noise coming from their direction. Noticing that his gaze was lingering on them, May tapped his shoulder gently to get his attention.

May: You've probably never had Pokeblocks before, right?

Felix: What's a Pokeblock?

Rather than answer, May lead him over to the machine, which was currently being operated by a Rich Boy, an Aroma Lady, and a Pokémon Ranger (the non-styler kind).

Ranger: Add this for a shinier coat.

Aroma Lady: It smells heavenly.

Rich Boy: Hmm...

After several moments the machine stopped, several tiny yellow blocks coming out. The trio divided them up amongst themselves, Felix tilting his head.

Felix: Candy?

May: Yep! It's made fresh from berries, so it's healthy too.

She lead him over to another machine, next to the one the trio had begun to start up again.

May: These are great for all kinds of things. Primarily, they help the five stats that are measured in contests: coolness, beauty, cuteness, intelligence, and toughness. But they also have different effects on different Pokemon; for example, you can evolve a Feebas naturally by giving it Pokeblocks that enhance its beauty.

Felix: I see...

To Forte, while Maekrite notices the switch and dashes towards Electro.

"I didn't. It's his reward for serving Ho-Oh, if I understand it right."

Maekrite focuses on Electro.

-The foe's GENDER cuts down
Maekrite's ATTACK eagerness!-

One of the Shahinne images is bit by Fireball and disappears.

Shahinne #1 — <Eeeeee~!> — flutters away.

Shahinne #2 — <Not friendly!Not friendly!> — chaotically flies away.

"Shahinne? Come on, attack!"

Shahinne misses her Secret Power attempt and starts flying wildy, scared after the Thunder and Fireball's pouncing.

Maekrite sees a Thunder coming and makes a sharp turn left, the attack hitting his backside. After bristling and shaking himself up for a while, he starts circling Electro and firing Poison Stings at her.

"Hmmm... Maekrite, when you are finished there assist Shahinne, please?"

Maekrite — <Sure thing...> — fires more Poison Stings at Electro.

Rustboro City

Yeah. It was easy. When I get my own gym I'm not gonna make the fights that simple...

Mikan Island

-Electro is hit by the barrage of Poison Stings-

Electro: <That's how you want to play? We can do that.> -fires a volley of Pin Missiles from her fur at Maekrite-

-Fireball moves to attack another Shahinne image, but suddenly has a loud coughing fit and falls over-

Forte: Ugh. That Sludge Bomb must have poisoned him... -recalls Fireball-

-Forte then sends out Marine the Vaporeon♂-

Forte: Marine, start off with an Aqua Ring!

-Marine surrounds himself with a veil of water-

Aqua: <Oh, it's a pretty Vaporeon!>

Rex: *still watching the battle*

I'm sure you won't.

Anyway, I was thinking of heading down to Dewford soon...

- Is still somewhere, appearing to have dozed off. Is leaning against Wolf, mumbling something about "the other me's history test tomorrow", whatever that means -

Maekrite is annoyed by the Pin Missile hits. He has to close his eyes and lower his ears.

Maekrite — <It's not a reward! I'm still serving!> — tries to sidestep the attacks, to little effect.

Marine is sent out and the Shahinne images look around not understanding much.

Shahinne #2 — <...Aqua?> — tilts head.

Shahinne #1 — <...Oh? Shiny water!>

"Errr... Shahinne? That's not-"

Shahinne #2 — <Aqua! It's Aqua! :3> — flies in to hug Marine.

Shahinne #1 -points a wing to Aqua — <Errr... Shahinne? Aqua's over there!>

Silent facepalms, then commands Maekrite to go against Electro with a Shadow Claw.

Rex: *pats her head* Don't distract her, Aqua.

Marine: <My name's not Aqua...>

Forte: Hey, focus! Electro, Rain Dance!

Electro: <Yay! Now it'll be even easier to zap you!> -hops around in a short dance, causing it to rain-

Forte: Now Marine, follow up with a Surf!

-Marine rides on a giant wave that swamps the rest of the field, hitting Electro, Maekrite, and all the Shahinne images-

Yep.

Rex and Co.: *splashed by parts of the wave*

Rascal: <Too wet!>

Gaea: *shudders, withdrawing into her shell*

Aqua: <Yay, water!>

Rex: >:|

Right then.

-Looks over at Fool, then at the pad-

-Writes "Try using the Obscura to get back to normal"-

Maekrite is hit by the Surf wave.

Maekrite — <Eeeee~glubglubglub> — is washed away a fair distance.

Shahinne is hit by the Surf wave.

Shahinne #1 -*disappears*.

Shahinne is hit by the Surf wave.

Shahinne #2 — <Oh? Big wave?????> — is washed away, falls to the ground. — <@_@> — faints.

Silent recalls Shahinne, then checks that his shoes are all wet and after some minimal complaining, instructs Maekrite to spray Marine with Poison Stings from a distance. Then he sends out [Ichtacya the Leafeon♀].

Maekrite shakes himself up and fires the Poison Stings.

Ichtacya — <Oh, cool! Eeveelutions! :3> — glares at Maekrite for attacking Marine.

Ichtacya waves a hi paw to Marine and then to Aqua, then tilts her head wondering if they are related in any way. Then she notices Electro, blushes a bit and drops her head remembering when they met.

"Behave yourself Ichtacya. They are on the opposite side of the battlefield. Now, Razor Leaf on the pair.

Ichtacya grumbles then fires the Razor Leaves at Marine (softly!) and Electro (softly!).

Forte: Oh, another Eevee. Awesome!

Electro: <Hey, it's that one Leafeon girl who was acting all weird around m— Ow!>

-Electro takes the hit from the Razor Leaf; after being hit by that and the rain-boosted Surf wave, she is severely weakened-

Forte: Come on, Electro! One more Thunder on that Nidorino!

Electro: <Yay zapping!> -sends a lightning bolt up to the rain cloud above, then calls it crashing down on Maekrite-

Forte: And Marine, try a Toxic on that Leafeon!

Marine: <No hard feelings, right?> -spits a blob of poison at Icthacya-

-Fool does so, only for a Obscura shockwave to be created instead with enough force to knock down a full grown Bastiodon-

Ichtacya hisspurrwoofnya~s to Forte and puts up a :3 face; the distraction costs her all her evasion and she is hit by the Toxic bubble.

Ichtacya — <Ack...! Ouch...! Ugh.... As if I didn't have enough with the pincushion...>

"Uhm... Ichtacya, Swords Dance an Iron Tail. Maekrite, try to evade and return the favor with an Ice Beam."

Ichtacya dashes ahead, swirls into a Swords Dance to increase her attack power and after building momentum and sharpness into her paws and tail, strikes Marine with a lateral swing.

Maekrite runs around trying to avoid the Thunder, but can't cope with the added accuracy. He falls to the ground and after grumbling and shaking his head several times, manages to stand up.

Maekrite — <Long range is not gonna cut it, Silent...> — fires a weakened Ice Beam at Electro.

"Hmmm... if you want to go physical go ahead but consider that Dintel comes next..."

-As I am much smaller than a full-grown Bastiodon, I am quite clearly knocked back several feet, the orb is unharmed-

Aqua: <Eep!> *ducks behind Rex* <I don't like thunder...>

-Electro is knocked to the ground by the Ice Beam and faints-

-Marine takes the hit from the Iron Tail, but stays standing thanks to his type resistance and Aqua Ring-

Forte: -recalls Electro- All right, time to bring my best one out.

-Forte sends out Icicle the Glaceon♂-

Forte: Icicle, use Hail! Marine, Ice Beam on the Leafeon!

Icicle: <Oh, gladly.> -the rainstorm above turns into a hailstorm, and Icicle vanishes into the hail-

-Marine fires a beam of coldness at Ichtacya-
