Messenger Murkrow: <Boss! Boss! Bad things happened in Undella Town!>

Shadow: <What? Tell me what's going on.>

Messenger Murkrow: <It was awful, boss! The captain and the commander, they went into this building, and then all these mons started popping up everywhere! We lost the Houndoom lieutenant and had to retreat! And they're coming this way!>

Shadow: <Calm down. Tell me what happened to the captain and commander.>

Messenger Murkrow: <I don't know, boss! They never came out!>

Shadow: <...Oh Arceus.

All right, listen. I want you to find all of the other lieutenants and order them to defend the city.>

Messenger Murkrow: <Yes, boss. What about you?>

Shadow: <I have a personal matter to take care of...>

-Napoleon is storming down Route 14 with his Legion in a fury, preparing to attack any man or mon that stands in his way-

-Napoleon is now at the entrance to Black City. The Liepard tail blowing in the wind.-

-Charybdis meets Napoleon at the gate-

Charybdis: <Is that the tail of our captain? You think we will cower before you because you hold it? You are sorely mistaken. We will reduce you and your minions to nothing.>

-Charybdis fires a Dragon Pulse at Napoleon-

-Shadow opens the door to Sunny's cell-

Shadow: <Can you walk?>

Sunny: <I think so... What's happening?>

Shadow: <There's no time to explain. We need to leave. Now.>

Sunny: <What...? You're releasing me?>

Shadow: <Just go! We don't have time! They'll be here any second!>

Sunny: <I don't understand.>

Shadow: <Follow me! I'll explain when we're somewhere safe!>

-Shadow leads Sunny out of the dungeons and out of Black City, onto Route 15-

-The attack leaves Napoleon Unfazed-

<Napoleon>: <Is that all you got?>

-Napoleon uses Superpower on the Hydreigon opposing him-

<Napoleon>: <ATTACK!>

-The Pokemon storm through Black City, attacking anything in their path. Napoleon heads for the main building-

-Charybdis is knocked out of the air and collapses, but before she does, she calls up a huge wave that swamps the field-

-Mezzo's other soldiers continue fighting against Napoleon's goons-

-Fin protects Napoleon from the Surf by coiling up around him, taking the attack for the pig-

-Napoleons Lackeys are storming through Black City with an unbound savagery-

-Basket alights beside me-

Oh! Yes, Basket?

<Are things under control for the moment?>

Approaching something like it, yeah... why?

<I have... responsibilities in this timeline. Two saplings haven't seen their mother in over a week, now.>

Oh! You mean you-

<Are a mother? Yeah, it feels a bit awkward... but they are good kids! I'm hoping I can bring them back here shortly; I just want to stay near them, you know?>

I understand... C-congratulations, and bon voyage?

<Thank you. Good luck whipping this place into shape!>

-Napoleon enters the building, but sees that nobody is there.-

<Napoleon>: <Brothers! Scounge the buildings! Eggs! Throw those two morons into the dungeon! I have my own agenda!>

-The Pokemon comply, Eggs finds out where the dungeon is and throws Mezzo and Manx!Felis into a cellar. Locking the doors behind him-

<Eggs>: <Napoleon is always right! LONG LIVE NAPOLEON!>

-Mezzo's minions attempt to fight back, but they are severely disorganized, causing Napoleon's army to have the advantage-

Yin: <Doom has come! But it will not claim me so easily!>

Serket: <They are weak and I am strong. Come at me, fiends!>

Nevermore: <They're everywhere!>

-Is busy checking out his Portal Gun when he spots the two interns with the single-portal device-

Huh? But I already have one of these.

-Meanwhile I finish the day's task at PEFE and decide to go sleep. As I enter the room I distinguish a lively mound of cuteness at the corner-

— ...Maekrite?

Maekrite — <Yeah, yeah, I know... wait...>

-As I go to bed and cover myself, the mound slowly moves towards the bed until they hit it-

— ...What, you plan on trying to sleep with all of them on top of you?

Maekrite — <Nope...> — to the kits — <All right, kits, that's my Trainer. We all go sleep with him now.>

Cuddlepile — <Wheeeee~!> — The Nidorans slowly start jumping on top of the bed and making some space to snuggle with me.

— Riiiiiiight....

-Maekrite, tired, manages to hop on top of the bed-

Maekrite (carefully swings a kit) — <Shoo, kits. The shoulder is mine.>

— ...You are gonna give me torticollis, you know? You no longer fit on the shoulderpad of the armor, for one... and this bed is kinda small.

Maekrite — <The better for you!> — yawns — <We'll all be warmer.>

-He takes the left shoulder as the other kits pile on my chest and to the sides of my torso. A couplr of minutes later, they all start snoring.-

— And I'm supossed to sleep like this? Oh well... won't be a cold night..

Intern 1: <We have to find this Tagg person somehow...>

Intern 2: <Are you crazy?! Just ditch it and let's get out of here!>

Intern 1: <This thing looks valuable! They'd notice it missing, then lock down and call out the dogs and lasers and whatever they do...>

Intern 2: <Ugh, I can't believe that guy didn't notice we spoke->

Intern 1: <Maybe "Tagg" won't either? C'mon, we just finish this errand, sneak down to the docks, find a boat, and we're off to the Orange Islands! No bugs or cats to try and tell us we're supposed to work for them, just sun, beaches, fruit-filled forests...> -eyes water-

-seeing Tagg in the hallway-

Intern 1: Yip! <Are you that Tagg guy the boss-guy was talking about? He said you might want a path home or something here you go!>

-thrusts the gun into Tagg's arms, as the interns attempt to exit nonchalantly-

Shadow: <I think we're safe now.>

Sunny: <So then tell me, what is going on?>

Shadow: <Everything went wrong. Undella Town has betrayed us. Their forces are probably taking over the entire city right now.>

Sunny: <So then, why save me?>

Shadow: -sigh- <Because you were right. This is all wrong. And I couldn't leave you here to die.>

Sunny: <I knew you would realize it someday. But what about Mezzo? Where is she?>

Shadow: <All I know is that she and the cap— I mean, Felis entered Undella Town and never returned. It's likely that she's been either killed or captured.>

-Sunny walks toward the gate to Black City-

Shadow: <What are you doing?>

Sunny: <I'm going to save her!>

Shadow: <Get back here! You'll get yourself killed!>

-Shadow pulls Sunny back-

Shadow: <Are you insane? There's no way just us two could possibly get through there!>

Sunny: <What else are we supposed to do? Just leave her there?>

Shadow: <Think, Sunny, think! Even if you did somehow reach her, she'd just try to kill you!>

Sunny: <But...>

Shadow: <Consider yourself lucky that I made it out with you! Now come on, we need to move.>

Sunny: <But where can we go?>

Shadow: <I have no idea. But we can't stay in the open.>

-Sunny and Shadow walk down Route 15, away from the battle in Black City-

-Takes the gun-

"Intern" 2: -whirls to partner- <I told you this was a terrible idea!>

"Intern" 1: <Hey, c'mon, the plan wasn't all that bad...>

"Intern" 2: <Not that bad?! Let me recap for you: First, we sneak into the Battle Subway to follow the tunnels to Anville. The building gets bombed!>

"Intern" 1: <Not MY fault!>

"Intern" 2: <Then we narrowly escape there, and almost become roadkill on Route 4...>

"Intern" 1: <It was night, with a sandstorm! The truck driver was clearly at-fault there!>

"Intern" 2: <We sneak to the Castelia Docks... and it turns out the border's been closed for the last freakin' YEAR!>

"Intern" 1: <Well...>

"Intern" 2: <So you say, oh, let's sneak out to the west! We can go through the caves to evade the patrols!>

"Intern" 1: <That idea worked!>

"Intern" 2: <THE CAVES LED TO HOENN!>

"Intern" 1: <Weird, yeah...>

"Intern" 2: <Then you decide, we can just go island-hopping, that research facility can't be too touchy about trespassers...>

"Intern" 1: <OK, I admit I wasn't expecting the voice with the lasers and tractor beams...>

"Intern" 2: <And then you decide we should disguise as humans in building full of them, and TALK TO THEM!>

"Intern" 1: <...maybe I made a few misjudgments? But live and learn, right?>

-Watches the "interns" leave-

I wonder if they're the only Pokemon masquerading as humans around here. Oh well, those two at least weren't a threat.

-Drake sneaks over the counter, takes a packet of batteries, cracks it open and puts a few into the detached keyboard-

Drake: <Now then, time to play that song that's in my head...>

-Drake begins to play-

Drake: -Reaching the chorus- <Ne-ver gon-na give you up. Ne-ver gon-na let you down. Nev-ver gon-na...!> -He clutches his head- <I've never played that song before... And I think I might figure out why very soon...> -Becomes silent-

-Falls asleep on a couch-

-Drake lifts his head slightly-

Pentigan: Aha! Good old Old Underscore Peculier! Now what was that second one... Duke, Duke, Duke, the only thing that comes to mind when I think of Duke and Old Underscore is Dai-

Altair: <Dai what?>

Pentigan: Daisy... I forgot about Daisy... How could I forget about Daisy! Now then... -Randomly blurts out a bit of the Doctor Who theme music- Oh right! Do you know anything about a pokemon called Celebi?

Altair: <Yes. They call her the Dark Lady, mistress to Mother Draconis' brother, the aspect of Time.>

Pentigan: Mistress? Oh you surely don't mean-?

Altair: <No, not that way. She's his right hand mon.>

Pentigan: Phew.

Altair: <I mean, noone has actually seen Mother Draconis, the Dark Lady or the aspect of time for eons so it's mostly the old myths.>

Pentigan: Strange... -Looks around for a moment- Bowties are cool.

Altair: <What?>

Pentigan: Hm... That was Eleven there... I'm sorry, I am so, so, sorry. Whoop, Ten, looks like I might be going back through them all... Run. Ooh, guessing that's Nine...

Altair: -Backs off a bit- <I wonder what your mind is trying to get you to remember...>

Pentigan: I have no idea. But you know what? These shoes! They fit perfectly! -Stomps a bit- That was Eight, and if I'm going through them in order I might as well go with it. Unlimited rice pudding! Seven! This is a situation that requires tact and finesse. I'm not a human being; I walk in eternity... Lovely summing up from Four there. I reversed the polarity of the neutron flow. Three! Love that line by the way! There are some corners of the universe which have bred the most terrible things. Things that act against everything we believe in. They must be fought. Another great line about pretty much every Doctor. And if I'm right, there's only one last line to go before I can figure out what I should be remembering... Have you ever thought what it's like to be wanderers in the fourth dimension? Have you? To be exiles?- -Eyes widen- -Susan and I are cut off from our own planet - without friends or protection. But one day we shall get back. Yes, one day... That's what I wanted me to remember...

Altair: <What?>

Pentigan: Susan. Because if I chose you this time around... She's dead... -Head goes into hands-

-Napoleon's forces are hunting down the souls brave enough to attack them in packs, ripping them to pieces-

-Napoleon has reached Mezzo's headquarters, and starts rummaging through her files to find any useful information-

At the Entralink

-Michelle finally wakes up-

<Audino>: <Finally! You're awake!>

<Michelle>: <Where... Where am I?>

<Audino>: <You're at the new Unovan resistance base Ma 'am! The Entralink Forest!>

-Michelle looks around, but doesn't see much because of her rather poor eyesight-

<Michelle>: <I see...>

<Audino>: <You were pretty battered, I must admit... But we were able to heal you back too full health!>

-Michelle gets up and walks out of the bed, she looks around to see a young girl being heavily cared for by a bunch of Audino-

<Michelle>: <I don't remember that girl...>

-Michelle takes a closer look at Sol-

<Michelle>: <Yet I can't shake the feeling that I've seen her before...>

- The Entralink -

- Whimsicott and Emolga return from their mission along with an Audino, with Whimsicott looking like he had several pieces of his fluff yanked out -

Chase: (hops over, sees Whimsicott) <Oh my!>

Whimsicott: <Relax, at least they didn't pull off anything that won't grow back.>

Emolga: <Yeah... Turns out the Scolipede and Liepard's minions wanted to recruit this one as well.>

The Audino: (waves at Chase)

Whimsicott: <They were stronger than us, but we were just a little bit smarter, and managed to bring her back here!>

Chase: <Ah, excellent job, you two!> (examines the Audino) <Oh, yes. You will be a great addition.>

The Audino: (blushes) <Oh... Thanks.> (giggles a little)

At Twist Mountain

-A soul is carving herself a new body from the Ice, It appears that she has finished-

{Yaminokame}: {Oh great spirits from up yonder... Please give me the ability to walk this Earth in a physical body again...}

-Yaminokame enters the new body she created-

{Yaminokame}: {This body might take some time to get used too... But it's perfect!}

-Yami starts clapping, before the reason why she had to come to Twist Mountain in the first place hits her-

{Yaminokame}: {But Antonio... And Elvis... They're both dead... Deader than a doornail! All because of that horrible pig!}

-Yami starts to cry-

{Yaminokame}: {And Elvis's death was all my fault! I couldn't stop Napoleon, and he got his way... I don't even know what happened to Stella, Cuddlekins and Sol!}

-Yami digs her face into hands-

{Yaminokame}: {...I hope Sol is okay...}

- Somewhere in Unova -

Velvet: (is seemingly meditating)

HotStuff: <... What are you doing?>

Velvet: <... Trying to remember that other timeline DS told us about.>

HotStuff: <... Is it working?>

Velvet: <I can faintly recall a few things, but for the most part, it doesn't seem to be doing much.>

HotStuff: <... I see.> (sighs)

- HotStuff lays down next to Velvet, both of them staring up at the sky -

-Yaminokame floats away from Twist Mountain-

{Yaminokame}: {I wonder what'll happen to Elvis and Antonio's spirits? Will they be re-incarnated? Or will they become ghosts like myself...? Questions that I guess will never be answered...}

-Yaminokame floats aimlessly through Unova-

Harriet: <C'mon, Treeo! You nearly had it that time!>

Treeo: <Nearly isn't good enough, though.>

Harriet: <But it means you're close! Come on, try again!>

Treeo: <Alright...>

-Treeo rushes at the targets - some logs sticking out of the ground - Focusing grass energy into his leaves.-

Treeo: <Come on, do it this time!>

-Once in range, the Grovyle leaps into the air and slashes at the logs with his leaves in an attempt to preform a Leaf Blade attack. The Grovyles leaves briefly erupt in a green glow, but die away again as he's halfway through cutting the log, rendering them useless.-

Harriet: <Aww, you were so close that time!>

Treeo: <It's still not good enough, though!> -Sighs.- <Darn it, Leaf Blade is the signature move of the Treecko line! So why can't I do it right?>

Harriet: <Hey, just because you can't do it now doesn't mean you'll never be able to do it! I know how it feels, Treeo. I was the last one in our gang of Murkrow to master Drill Peck.>

Treeo: <Really?>

Harriet: -Nods.- <Really. For a long time, whenever I tried to use it, I ended up horribly dizzy. Not the best state to be in when you're in the middle of a fight.>

Treeo: <I can imagine so.>

Harriet: <But, with practice, I eventually learned how to do it properly, even if it did take a while. Learning how to do a new thing well takes time, and that goes for learning new moves, too.>

Treeo: <...I understand. But I'm going to keep trying.>

Harriet: <Well that's fine. Practice makes perfect, after all!>

Treeo: <Sure does.>

-Treeo resumes practicing, just as a certain Braviary swoops in.-

Unite: <Hey, guys! Guess what I just found out on my scouting mission!>

Woolly: <Ooh, what did you find?>

Unite: <Well...It's not entirely pleasant, but when I flew over Black City, I saw the Undella and Black City forces fighting each other!>

Wulfric: <Wow...Really?>

Unite: <Yeah, it was awful...There were dead Pokémon and people all over the place. A lot of them had been torn to pieces...>

Wulfric: <Oh!>

Flare: <Ouch...>

Woolly: <That's awful! Even if they are the bad guys...>

Unite: -Nods.- <But...There is a silver lining here. Since those lot are fighting each other, they're going to be far too busy to notice the Resistance. Or us, for that matter!>

Harriet: <Oh, you're right!>

Unite: <This may be just what we need. Their forces will be significantly weakened after this civil war is over. It may just be the perfect time to strike back against them. Even better if we manage to wake Reshiram by then.>

Treeo: <Ooh, true.>

Woolly: <Well, if it means ending this war once and for all, Then I'm all for it!>

Wulfric: <Same here.>

Flare: <And here, too.>

Harriet: <Same with me.>

Unite: <So we're in agreement, then. We revive Reshiram, then rally the Resistance, strike back against Artemis and Scolipede, and save hopefully save Unova.>

Woolly: <Awesome!>

-However, in the bushes nearby.-

Barb: <Okay, are we ready?>

Pollen: -Nods.- <Yes. We're ready.>

Barb: <Good.>

-The Beedrill turns to a veritable swarm of Bug types behind him, which consists of twenty Durant, ten Galvantula, two Escavalier, Crustle and Leavanny and Five Scolipede.-

Barb: <Alright, we need you all to distract them long enough to get the Sheep.>

Scolipede #1: <Can we kill any of them?>

Barb: <Anyone but the Sheep or the Bird.>

Durant #7: <Which bird? There are two of them!>

Barb: <The Braviary!>

Durant #7: <Oh! Cool.>
