Lake: -Blushes.- <Heheh, yeah. They sure are.>
-Lake clings on, enjoying the flight.-
Oh, I see. Well he should be back in here in a few minutes.
-To Tracer's Pokémon.- Hey guys. Oh? Nadia not with you?
Unite: -To Flare and Pepper.- <Look, he's gone!>
Flare: <Whoa.>
Pepper: <Goodness!>
I'm really not comfortable with incorporating the manga into this. At all. But May has a Tropius as a rival, so it's still fair game. What should I replace, Beautifly?
Probably
I'm having to learn to pay the priceOh, I'm okay, I guess.
(somewhat hesistantly, obvious that I don't want to say anything wrong) So... Um... I never really got the chance to congratulate you on your victory in your last battle... You were really great...
HotStuff: <It's okay, DS. Relax.>
What's the issue with elements from the manga? Just wondering.

Hard Boiled Detective Since 1985Awwww.... why? I mean we are bringing Anime (Venusaur and Glaceon)... then again I think my opinion of the anime is somewhat known Beautifly is IMHO the best element to replace. If I can think of another, I'll try to edit this
The only other good element to replace is Snorlax, but it's kinda a stretch...

Fanfic Recs orwellianretcon'd: cutlocked for committee or for Google?-Smiles at DS-
Well thank you DS! That's really curtious of you to congratulate me!
I'm having to learn to pay the priceLake: <He'll probably figure it out soon. I wouldn't be surprised if he called me on my Pokégear at that point.>
Oh, really? Why'd she do that?
Aww, Manga!Sapphire was awesome. (And given that she was the one who did Gym battles in that arc, that would explain how she made it this far in the conference.) But Basket says yes, dump the Beautifly for her cousin. :P
Do you highlight everything looking for secret messages?- Smiles back -
Oh, you're welcome!
-Grins-
So what's on the agenda for today?
I'm having to learn to pay the priceCan't think of much. Fighting Luke was the main thing I had planned for today.

Is there something we could do around here today?

I'm having to learn to pay the priceI have less than zero interest in the manga. There are just things about it that bother me (for example, naming the characters after the games. I'm sorry, but Pearl and Ruby are stupid names for boys. And Platina is just a stupid name in general).
The anime aspects are pretty much grandfathered in. There were several references to it very early on, and anime physics make writing battles much much more interesting. If that hadn't been going on to begin with, I wouldn't have included anime exclusive characters in the GC either.

It's clearly a case of backroom political albumizing.Going to bed now. Just pretend I'm still with you guys. See you guys tomorrow.
Night DS.
Hmm.
Nah, she probably wouldn't be interested in that.
Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite.Good night!
Character naming themes bother you (which are inherited from the games anyway) and not anime stuff like, let's say, aim for the horn? Thunder Armor? Counter Shield? Compared to anime "physics" the manga ones are not bad thoug, I jus wish they were consistent, as the manga seems to be... Oh well... I was just suggesting.
Fanfic Recs orwellianretcon'd: cutlocked for committee or for Google? The manga battles often have even more interesting physics, though... and explaining May's position is easier if we can do an unholy mashup of all teams from all canons.
Do you highlight everything looking for secret messages?Seriously Wolf, It the theme naming that bothers you about the Manga? Not the characters themselves or the story?

<Nadia: "We're here... It's so peaceful... I wonder why this place isn't more popular...">
Hard Boiled Detective Since 1985I couldn't care less about all the stupid things the anime does for two reasons (well, one reason with two parts). I was introduced to the anime first. I didn't play a Pokemon game for almost a year after it started, and then only a little bit of a friend's copy of Blue. After that, I didn't play another one until I got SoulSilver last October.
Also, it was my favourite show as a kid. I was six when it started, and it was a big part of my life for quite a few years. The nostalgia is wonderful. Not only that, but I started watching it again from the beginning, and as hokey as it is, I still think it holds up.
Also also, naming the characters after the games may originate with the games, but the games dropped it in Gen III. This is a decision I agree with. Another thing that bothers me about it is the weird divergence from the games (Koga, Lt. Surge, and Sabrina being evil, for example).
I'm not saying you're wrong for liking the manga, or even that I don't want any references to it in the RP. I'm just saying that I don't like it, and for that reason, I'm not comfortable with writing elements of it into what I'm doing.
EDIT: It was just an example. There's another one in this post.
