I've done it a couple of times, though it's more of a pain now since I've gotten much taller.

Garchomp Tooth Necklace: <Yeah, sure.> -Leads Luke and Lake to a large net- <Set this up between those two trees.>

-collects my team, sending Skywalker to go find Hecate-

Oh, okay.

Okay Lake, grab the other end.

-We each take an end of the net and stretch it out to it's full size.-

Now we just need to tie it to the branches of these trees, here.

-I do so on my end while Lake holds his, then do the same for his as he ties the knots on his side. The net is now stretched firmly between the trees.-

Lake: -Pushes the net as a test.- <Yep, this feels like it's going to hold.>

Awesome.

-after recalling everyone that's going to be in the battle, I make my way back into the stadium and find out where my battle's going to be-

Um DS, could I ask you a question?

-Points to a stone and a support log-

-Has woken up and is now feeding Quetzal some Yanmega meat-

Quetzal: -shaking- Yeah... I'm fine...

-Fool doesn't believe Quetzal-

Erm. Lake? You do the rock, and I'll do the log.

Lake: <That seems like the best way to do it, yeah.>

-Lake uses his immense strength to lift the rock up, giving me ample opportunity to move the log into place.-

Lake: <Done?>

Done.

-Lake sets the rock down on the log.-

Was it heavy?

Lake: <Quite heavy, nothing I couldn't handle though. I doubt you can say the same for any poor Bug Pokémon that get caught under it.>

We're undergoing time shenanigans, Gamer's hiring impostors to throw off our fanbase, and Crewe's about to start her battle with Leaf.

It's about me and Fool.

-Looks at the deadfall trap-

That looks nasty.

... Yes?

-heads to the arena as Leaf enters from the other side. I take a deep breath-

All right. Focus. You can do this.

Leaf: I'll go first. Snorlax!

-she sends out her Snorlax. I pause for a moment, then pull a Pokeball off my belt-

Electivire, let's go.

-I send her out. She narrows her eyes and whips her tails around, glaring the Snorlax down-

All right, Electivire. Low Kick!

Leaf: Earthquake!

-Electivire rushes Snorlax and kicks it, making it fall over. It takes heavy damage, but sets off an Earthquake nevertheless. Electivire is knocked back, breathing hard, having lost about half her health-

You all right?

Electivire: <I'm fine.>

Okay. Low Kick again!

Leaf: You've almost done it Snorlax, use Earthquake again!

-Electivire rushes Snorlax, just as it sets off another Earthquake. Dust is thrown up, concealing the two. When it settles, Snorlax has fainted. Electivire stands over it, but as I start to relax, she falls over, unconscious. Biting my lip, I recall her-

Great job, Electivire.

Leaf: You go next!

Okay then... Anakin!

-I send him out. He bursts out of the Pokeball and starts flying upwards, roaring-

Leaf: Lapras! Make me proud!

-she sends out her Lapras. Anakin and Lapras eye each other, neither moving-

You seemed a little shell shocked last night. Is there a reason why?

Quetzal: ...

-Is worried and doesn't know what to do-

-Looks really nervous-

Sometimes I feel like I'm too...distant with her.

It does, doesn't it? I doubt any sort of Bug Pokémon will be able to survive having this dropped on 'em, poor thing.

-I shake my head.-

We can't really feel sorry for them though, if they insist on being a pain.

Really?

-Quetzal chews on a piece of Yanmega flesh-

Quetzal: I think it has something to do when we were going to El Dorado... The waves *shivers*

I'll think I'll bring out Arachne, she's better at discussing these things than I am...

-Fool brings out Arachne-

Arachne: Yes?

It's Quetzal, she's a little... scared at the moment and I don't really know what to do...

Arachne: Oh Quetzal, poor baby...

-Arachne scuttles over to Quetzal and starts mothering her. Quetzal seems a little more relaxed now-

Okay Anakin, we can do this. Sunny Day!

-he roars and sends a large ball of energy up into the air, intensifying the sun-

You know what to do from here.

Leaf: All right Lapras, Hydro Pump!

-Lapras launches a Hydro Pump at Anakin, who darts to the side but is hit on the wing. He responds with a Solar Beam. Now flying somewhat erratically, he takes a few deep breaths before launching another Solar Beam. Following a command from Leaf, Lapras fires off another Hydro Pump. The two attacks meet in the middle of the two Pokemon, both of them trying to overpower the other-

Anakin, like we practiced, remember?

-he nods once, then drops down and to the side, breaking off the attack. Lapras's attack shoots over his head and he fires another Solar Beam at it, hitting it in the face and knocking it back. Taking advantage of the brief respite as Lapras gets up, Anakin flies up higher-

Yes. Makes me wonder if I'm cut out for the whole relationship thing. Please tell me if you think I'm being stupid or something.

Yeah.

-Looks more closely at the trap-

They probably double as hunting traps too. A rock that size would certainly snap a Bibarel or Shinx back.

Ooh. Nasty.

Lake: <Really? I'm not sure I like that.>

-In the past-

Well, that's nature for you. Brutal and merciless. At least it's a relatively painless death.

I don't really have much experience with relationships either.

Maybe we should find someone else to talk about this...

-Fool and Quetzal (who is on Arachne's back) walk out of the hotel-

Om nom nom. Yummy dinner. Bagel bites, baked beans, and tomato.

-Anakin fires another Solar Beam-

Leaf: Dodge it, Lapras, and use Hydro Pump again!

-Lapras dives to the side, blasting a huge jet of water up at Anakin. Intent on his attack, he doesn't have time to dodge and is knocked down, losing altitude fast. He lands awkwardly, and prepares to get in the air again-

Wait, Anakin. Use Thunder Punch.

-he nods and charges up his fist, then rushes Lapras-

Leaf: We have him now, Lapras! Hydro Pump!

It's almost down, Anakin, you can do it!

-he nods and slams his electrified fist into Lapras's face just as it fires a Hydro Pump at point-blank range. Lapras collapses and is recalled on the spot, but Anakin is blasted back across the arena and lands at my feet, out cold. I quickly recall him-

Your turn, Leaf.

Leaf: Okay! Venusaur!

-the huge grass-type materializes-

-I stare down at my remaining Pokemon, biting my lip-

I sent out Anakin too early... Who's left to take care of Grass types?

-making a decision, I hold up a Pokeball, then toss it into the air-

Rampage! Let's do this!

-the Mamoswine appears and paws the ground, snorting-
