Halis is back to their normal, cold-as-always self once more. They actually don't seem too perturbed by the sudden change, though.

Halis: "It's a magic scarf, Lucius... it's special, just like my usual one except more... magic-y. And stuff."

They take the scarf as soon as it's gotten over to them, looking at it closely.

Halis: "Even if it wasn't magic, it's a very nice scarf and a gift as well, so I'm going to treat it with the proper care it deserves as such. Thank you, Denali."

Gate Base

-/Duck/ departs the door and glances around-

/Duck/: >... I knew that.

-It drifted into the terminal and got to work-

Banshee Base

-The cosplayer looked at the windows, then the door, then checked around for vents-

Maybe we can just crack the door open? Like either get a blade in there and wedge it open or... Maybe there's a sensor on the inside for automatic opening? I saw a video on pen testing once and I think you can trick automatic door sensors with a targeted Smokescreen?

"Aaand...here!" Nana grins triumphantly, digging the device out of her bag. "I don't use this guy real often."

Celadon

Me: Oh. Thanks. I'll just give you my Xtransceiver number so we can stay in touch. How does that sound?

"Sounds good!"

Nana offers him the device to put his number into.

Celadon

-Ian puts his number into her Xtransceiver-

Me: Thanks.

-Ian offers his device for Nana to put her number in it-

Nana punches in her number.

"Call me anytime, kiddo."

"Sounds good, now if you'll excuse me for a moment. I need to deal with this sad sack here," Denali said.

Denali gripped onto Lucius and said, "Onwards to Therapy!"

They were gone.

The two were in Denali's office, "Alright Lucius let's get down to brass tacks. What's changed and how are you feeling? Confidence I hope."

The sight of the opal arm on Denali's desk was still as clear as ever.

Celadon

Me: See ya on the flipside, Nana!

Denali's Office

-Lucius blinks in surprise at the sudden change of setting, but soon composes himself and takes a seat.-

Lucius: ...Better, I think. Things have been less... confrontational, I guess. It feels like I'm getting better at dealing with other people, building new relationships and repairing or redefining old ones, and that feels... good. I feel pretty good right now.

-He smiles.-

-Ludmilla could barely hear her mother's constant jabbering over the sound of false rain hitting the side of the hood of her jacket. The rain here was more steady and heavy than back in Po Town - though the lack of wind did keep the rain from spraying in odd directions. The entire city, while shadowed, was not that difficult to see despite the lack of obvious light sources. It appears that luminescent crystals were incorporated into the design of various parts of the architecture, providing a subtle glow that allow for sight without straining the eyes.-

-The entire city felt strange - not quite alive, not quite watching her, but definitely present. Unseen devices would react to her, would feel like they bend or twist to watch her, like a flower following the sun as it arcs across the sky. It felt strange - almost familiar. She couldn't put her finger on it, but...-

-Two particularly stern taps on the shoulder shakes her out of her daydream. The rain had stopped - no, they had just wandered into a building. The central tower, from the looks of things.-

Deziree: This looks to be where we'll find any signs of Aetherium, if it exists. Let's see if we can find ourselves stairs. Or an elevator. Or just a hole in the ceiling. Metagross and Alakazam rarely had need to walk anywhere since they mostly just float.

-Ludmilla - to her own surprise - starts feeling around telekinetically out of instinct. She feels a switch, very similar to the previous one at the entrance. She gives it a solid nudge, and part of the ceiling starts cranking downward. The circular bottom of the elevator slots neatly into an impression on the floor.-

Deziree: ... Huh. Did you do that?

Ludmilla: I think so.

Deziree: Okay, good, was just making sure we weren't being followed by helpful if very shy ghosts.

Ludmilla: ... Why ghosts?

Deziree: Old ruins and ghosts kinda go hand in hand. I'm legitimately shocked we haven't seen any intelligence here - dead or alive.

Ludmilla: That door was kinda well hidden. I doubt anybody who even remembered this was here could get inside.

Deziree: True enough, after the Warp.

-An odd idea niggled the back of Deziree's mind. How did the author, this Mrs. Von Bergvandern, even discover this location?-

Route 7, Kanto

-Ian walks down the road between Celadon City and Saffron City with determination in his eyes and a boot in his backpack, as he looks for his next adventure-

Me: Now, there's gotta be something that could happen... I mean, as if winning a boot from a Team Rocket Grunt wasn't crazy enough... What do you think, Piku-chan?

Piku-chan: <I think I know what you're getting at, but I'm not entirely sure where to look either...>

Me: I don't know what you just said, but I can guess that you don't have a clue either...

-Just then, Piku-chan and I see a conveniently placed newsstand-

Me: Huh? Has that ALWAYS been there?

-Piku-chan and I walk over to the newsstand-

"That's good Lucius. You've made some real progress from the self destructive individual who started out. Learning to forgive yourself and accept that others have forgiven you is not a easy path," Denali said writing details down.

"It's good you're also reconnecting with others and making up for the past. Though you probably have a list of people you still need to apologize to."

Denali summoned a glass of wine and took a big gulp, "Now I do wanna keep up with more regular sessions but that may be a bit of a hassle due to the wandering nature of you and your friends so let's keep this modern."

Lucius's phone would beep, "Call me or send me a text once a month just letting me know how you are doing, doesn't matter if it's a few words long. You are also free to message me more often before you need to if you feel the need. And if you are experiencing some trouble just text me D-1-4-M-0-N-D and I'll be there in a instant to help you through it, also that's for therapy related issues you are not summoning me to best whatever baddy you might be facing."

Denali smiled, "Now one last little detail, the offer still stands."

The fingers of the opal gauntlet waved.

-Pent sighs and lazes out on the couch-bed-

-His two main confidants perk up. The pink blob briefly makes a question mark in response and the laptop clicks to life-

Shift: <I don't think anyone else would appreciate the fact that eight years ago tomorrow-or-so you got on a plane with a bunch of people, some of which would go on to make the J-Team but most just vanish after the flight because they couldn't be bothered following along.>

I mean Tagg was... Hey Duck has Tagg gotten back yet?

/Duck/: >Uh... No sir?

-Pent sighs and grumbles-

It's like... An occasion yaknow? That day at the airport was important enough that the universe crystallized it into an artifact of phenomenal power.

Shift: <If the universe is constantly celebrating that fact, do you need to?>

Yes! It's basically... I don't know it just feels like that was the first moment I really felt awake, like everything else before that was merely history in motion. And it's been eight years and I've stuck with this Team through it all because-

Shift: <Because you don't know anything else.>

No, I just... I've done so much with them and there's always something new to tackle and I've got the skills to do what I can.

Shift: <Sure, whatever makes your hero complex sound reasonable...>

-The pink blob shlorps off to recall itself-

-the Weavile perched on the desk, on the other hand, seems a little more interested. Maybe because it's sundown. He peers down at Piku-chan-

Jab: <Yo. Rodent. What's your trainer got in his backpack? It smells like he's got a shoe in there or something.>

Route 7, Kanto

Piku-chan: <That's because he does. Well... it's more of a boot. He won it from a Team Rocket Grunt back in Celadon City. It's weird, I know...>

Me: Hmmm...

-Ian takes a look around the newsstand and suddenly notices a newspaper with a picture of some Trainers and their Pokemon facing down what appears to be a 50 foot tortilla-

Me: Huh? What's this?

-I read the headline with a bewildered look on my face-

Me: Was there an Arceuszilla movie being shot when this paper was made?

Ramona: Really... Oh, okay.

-"Aya stays underwater, a few bubbles floating up spelling out the word NO."-

Jab: <There are still Rocket Grunts hanging around in Celadon? Shame Ever won't let us go.

"... Ya know, it'd just be easier if you surfaced and said it!" Colton hollered at the bubbles. "I can understand Pokemon!"

-"There is a short pause, then another bubble NO pops up."-

Ramona: Aya's shy.

-"She then returns the Dewott to its ball and starts walking to the center."-

Helmsman approached Colton from behind, getting his attention by placing a hand on his shoulder and looking a little forlorn.

<Did I do something wrong?> He asked.

"I don't think so," Colton considered. "I think you just got unlucky. C'mon, why don't we go home? This jacket is starting to get caked with salt water and I need to wash it fast."

Sunny materialized again after Helmsman returned at the two of them disappeared in a pink bubble.

Stormchaser Laundry Room, a few minutes later.

Alongside the gray jacket, as well as a few dirty shirts and pants that all shared similar gray hues, Colton haphazardly shoved them into the washing machine. As his schedule was more or less clear, he decided to sit against the wall, singing his music to himself as he had nothing better to do.

Ramona, not realizing that Colton had left: So Mr, have you been to Humilau before... Mr?

-"She realizes that he had gone."-

Ramona: Did he leave? Well shoot. -She takes her glasses off, revealing that they had been modified to double as a video camera- I hope he doesn't mind being on You Tube.

-"She starts uploading the video of her day and the battle."-

Rogue: I'd love to say an air vent passageway would work, but there's so many problems with it that movies don't seem to acknowledge. It's not stealthy, for one, we're gonna make a lot of noise trying to crawl through them. Two, vents usually just aren't big enough. There's barely any space and when there is, there's sheet metal edges inside that can and will cut you, or get snagged on, say, a cloak. And then they're not as sturdy as you'd think, and— you know what let's just stick to "it's our dead-last option."

-They pace a bit.-

Rogue: What I'd suggest is, if one of our Pokemon can slip inside under the door — or, in a Rotom's case, through the circuits — they could unlock it from the inside, without necessarily even needing to manipulate security at all. I doubt it's locked both ways. M's got this.

Hacks nods in agreement, ~We've done air vent passageway once, and I don't think we wanna make use of the scarf again.~
