-while the fight felt like forever for PEFE!Every, it took all of about a minute. It's pretty quick watching-
-when it's done, both Amanita and Ever are staring at her-
PEFE!Every: That isn't— that's not what happened.

PEFE!Every: Jacob is currently possessed by the Shard of Calamity calling itself Chaos. As is shown in this video, we had an argument and he attacked me, resulting in my needing to defend myself with the traps set in the module.
Ever: He did attack first...
PEFE!Every: He did not, however, make use of Regina to do so. He transformed into a similar substance as the Chaos fragment, and displayed equivalent if superior abilities. He was able to duplicate Unigma, forcing me to escape. When I attempted to access the surveillance logs for the module, I found that the relevant timestamp had been deleted, and I've been attempting to gather data on the matter since.
-Ever and Amanita look at each other-
Amanita: ...What do you think?
Ever: ...I think it's weird to volunteer the video logs in the first place.
PEFE!Every: Hm?
Ever: He was just here. How'd you think I got the—
-PEFE!Every's eyes widen-

Ever: I think there's more than one issue at play.
Amanita: I think a lot of issues are at play.
Ever: You know what I mean. She's talking about Chaos juice, Unigma...it sounds like stuff out of a nightmare. It's more than a little possible that our cousin is experiencing a break with reality.
Amanita: I don't have psychics, I can't check on her that way. I want to take her at her word, but...
Ever: But all the evidence swings the other way. Which leads to the second problem, namely the source of that evidence. When I was talking to Jacob about that, he volunteered the video logs. That's just...a weird thing to do, you know?
Amanita: Why'd he have them at all?
-Ever pauses, and then blinks-
Ever: ...You know, why did he? He said she deleted them, but that he salvaged them first. What would he want them for? If she deleted them as fast as she could, why was his first priority to grab the footage before she could? That's not something you do against a well-meaning ally who's snapped, that's something you do against an enemy you need dirt on.
Amanita: So?
Ever: Jacob suggested to me that I keep her confined. He knows her, he knows that would crush her. He's not acting in good faith.
Amanita: So you do believe her? Why have her leave first then?
Ever: I believe Jacob isn't himself. I think that consequently makes this footage suspect. But I am also sure that PEFE!Every isn't quite herself either. I think she's more herself than Jacob, but we need to find a way to sideline her before she hurts herself or somebody else. She's running on fumes, she's barely holding together, and she's going to crash and burn if this keeps up.

Tangent: So our next step is probably to find this Lucius person. And if Every(?)'s counterpart is affiliated with the J-Team, this Lucius person may be as well. There's a starting point for research.

Gio smirked and walked off, Jessie following him, still writing down as much as she could from her own tablet about the J-Team and the website.
