He mentally kicked himself. You're single and fine with it, you don't know her personality, love at first sight is a dream come true, and you hate both of those phrases, he recited to himself as he approached.

"This place is known for housing tournaments for trainers to pit their Pokemon against each other. I'm surprised you don't seem to know, given you seem to be rather experienced. Hell, I don't think half of your team," he said gesturing to all the 'mons surrounding them, "is even native to Unova."

"But I don't really think I know him," he continued, only vaguely aware he was speaking too much. "it's mostly just that I was in on the raid, and the only thing I've done since then is sleep, only being awoken by a reminder that my bosses drafted me to fix the Entralink," he concluded, a hand on his Fire-type's ball as it fidgeted like crazy.

"No need, Ammy," he chimed. "Unless it's the tournament you're interested in," he added.

Brie: Ugh, finally...

-she trudges into the building-

Clay: Doin' okay there? You know ye've gotta beat my Krokorok, not just slow 'im down, right?

PEFE!Every: Um, I'm fine. Scuttle, X-Scissor.

Scuttle: <With pleasure!>

-he whirls around, batting the Krokorok away with his stingers-

Scuttle: <That felt good. We should do this more often, really.>

PEFE!Every: Mmm...

Krokorok: <See, now, if I could use Dig, this wouldn't be a problem. But nooo, I gotta figure out how to stand up now, with all this freaking silk everywhere.>

Okay, a little basic, but at least she sort of knows what she's doing...

PEFE!Every: Keep using String Shot. Don't let that Krokorok stand up.

Scuttle: <Works for me.>

-he spits more string, pinning the crocodile to the ground completely-

Clay: Not bad, but we can still hit ya from here! Krokorok, Sand Tomb!

-Ever facepalms-

-with the ivory arm, which kind of hurts-

Krokorok: <Okay, if you're ever actually in a mine, don't try this, right?>

-his eyes glow, and a miniature dust devil forms around Scuttle-

-Shun staggers slightly as he arrives at the shady building via teleport, clutching his ribs.-

Shun: Can't this wait? I really am in quite a lot of pain right now...

-Lucius's eyebrow raises as his hand starts to go to his Pokeballs.-

Lucius: ...Okay, I know I'm slightly drunk right now and I owe you guys a solid, so I'm gonna give you a chance to explain what's going on here.

Volpe is still in Room 33, though this time he's surrounded by at least 30 pizza boxes (as well as a dozen "sides" boxes that had garlic bread, fries, chicken and onion rings in) and he's quite clearly smoke at least a dozen blunts before this one.

Volpe: -To his Weavile and Alolan Ninetails, curled up near his lap- So anyway, I think birds should be able to vot-

Mason bursts into the room, which causes Volpe to turn his attention on the intruder.

Volpe: Oh so you like, actually got the scientist and didn't kill him in a moment of anger induced passion? Or something? Bellissimo~.

Volpe quickly texts a message to Tagg (Though this is "quickly" taking into consideration a) being stoned off your rocker and b) missing a few vital finger joints) along the lines of "Hey they got the egghead. Just FYI" before standing up.

Volpe: Whatcha waitin' for Shadows, bring 'em in! Bring 'em in!

-and Scuttle is in turned knocked out by a Muddy Water from the Palpitoad Clay sends out-

PEFE!Every: Oh. Well, that shouldn't be a problem...Tuft, Giga Drain.

-it isn't, in fact, a problem-

Tuft: <Didn't expect that, did you?>

Clay: Well, at least ya know yer type chart. But I do too. Excadrill, Metal Claw!

Tuft: <Come again?>

-Tuft is oneshotted by the surprisingly quick strike-

PEFE!Every: -sighs-

Her team is...like, astonishingly frail. It's a little concerning.

I mean I guess so is she so it fits.

-Mason gestures as Jared brings in Lex-

Mason: There he is. You couldn't have even saved one box for us? I lost every meal I'd had over the last 24 hours in there.

-Shun is still clutching his ribs as he enters after Mason.-

Shun: I'm not hungry. I feel like eating anything at this stage would be a bad idea.

-Lucius's hand recedes from his Pokeballs.-

Lucius: ...I'm listening.

Volpe walks over.

Volpe: So! You're the mastermind behind the delightful pieces of Tech I hear Neo-Flare is in possession of these days? Hmm? Alexandre?

Lex says nothing, and just looks down in shame, avoiding eye-contact with anyone.

Volpe: We'll figure out what to do with you later when the bossman arrives. Though, don't think of trying to Nuremberg Defense your way outta this one, mate.

Volpe taps the ashes of his blunt on Lex's head before looking over to the group.

Volpe: So how did it go? Get any nifty toys from the place~

His Weavile scrambles to Volpe's shoulder to leer at the group, while his Ninetails silently pads his way to Volpe's side.

Volpe looks over to Shun for a moment, with a look that's a strange mix of anger, disappointment and worry, but doesn't say anything on the matter.

I wonder if that's the same Excadrill I fought when I got this badge...

PEFE!Every: Okay, now use Earthquake while he's still up close!

Clay: Not so fast! Excadrill, Slash!

-Excadrill attempts to pull back-

-and finds that all three of his drills are currently stuck in Sharptooth's mouth-

PEFE!Every: Krookodile have the highest bite force of any known Pokemon. ...Well, except Tyrantrum I suppose. But you see my point....

Sharptooth: <Mmph.>

-he lifts Excadrill up into the air, then slams him to the ground-

Sharptooth: <Nngh. Unseemly to finish off an opponent without so much as a parting remark.>

PEFE!Every: ...Is that it?

Clay: What else would there be?

PEFE!Every: ...Oh.

Clay: Ye've earned this badge.

-he hands her the Quake Badge, which she blinks at-

Clay: And this TM. Might wanna teach it to your Krookodile.

PEFE!Every: Oh, uh, I already have one.

Clay: Can't go wrong with a backup.

PEFE!Every: ...

Clay: Take it.

-she does, slightly intimidated-

Volpe looks back over to Brie with a slightly snarky expression.

Volpe: Of course nobody in their right minds would use this shit, this tech is rotten to its core. But I am an Interpol Associate so having a good look at these things is kinda in the best interest for both of us even before Tagg gets here.

The unassuming, brown haired assistant of Lex who was shoved in the corner - out of sight and out of mind - mutters under her breath.

Anka: It's not inherently bad... there is potential for good...It's just been.... misapplied

-Giselle digs in her bag and tosses an Infinity Tool and an Infinity Ring on the table-

Mason: The Cipher boys got gung-ho and blew up the elevator, several of us nearly got killed, an Aggron ate a guy, another guy exploded himself, I caught a Gothorita that set a trap that got sprung before we could leave, and then Robocop turned out to be a traitor which nobody was surprised by. All in all, I need a fucking nap.

-Shun looks back at Brie disdainfully.-

Shun: You have the right to remain silent. I suggest you use it.

-He notices Volpe eyeing him, but remains silent in turn.-

-Lucius signals for another drink without taking his eyes of Izaya.-

Lucius: ...Yeah. And I know for a fact they're in league with the worst kinda scum. What do you propose we do about it?

Volpe gives a raspy chuckle at Mason.

Volpe: Of course the Fauxpher Group got too big for its britches and fucked everything up for everyone, but at least y'all made it out alive. Though...

Volpe looks over to Brie and Shun.

Volpe: ...Some of you made it out better than others...

Volpe rolls his eyes at Giselle.

Volpe: I'm not gonna open one, I have enough sense not to do that. But I am the policeman here and as the authority who put you on this hell mission in the first place, it's in your best interest to give me one of the damn things.

Volpe holds out his hand

Volpe is handed the Ball as he begins to scrutinize any and every detail of the object.

Volpe: So, when I sent you on the mission, our info on these things were only the scraps pre-production stage. So what was one of these things like in action, spare no lurid or unpleasant details. Us at Interpol actually need to know this shit if you want us to be able to help you.

Channah: -makes a 'well, he did, but sure' gesture- Uh, yeah?

Dolabella: <Knew it.>

Room 33 — Past

Mason: Let's see... they force Pokemon into a Mega Evolution state, and put them into a blind rage. Somehow they still take orders. We tried to free some of the Pokemon in them by crushing the balls while they were out, but... most of them died right when the connection was broken. The Aggron was a rare survivor, and even he had some damage, I think. So now we're taking most of them to try to figure out rehabilitation instead of breaking the connection cold-turkey like that.

Mako: <I have never heard anyone ever use the phrase "cold-turkey" before. What does that even mean?>

Mason: As for the other Infinity stuff, I fought a guy with a Ring. It put him into his own sort of super-powered Aura thing, and was pretty much on a rampage himself. He was, like, super easy to trick with illusions. And then I did some damage to it and... it sorta electrocuted him and exploded? And then I was too busy throwing up at the guy's corpse to investigate further.
