Colton chose to strafe to cover Walt’s attempt on the lever, still firing at the ink puddle that was once Zachary.

Kaisei: "Yeah... that said, flying that far might have been a pain for Hazard, so..."

Amélie follows Colton's example and shoot the puddle of ink.

Zachary is just getting angrier, until in a weirdly familiar voice, the constantly reforming puddle growls, "SAM!"

Sam ducks through the door, and heads down. Onto the last Level. The Ink Machine.

A kiosk has been set up, several indidivuals stand there in Black and Blue Naval like uniforms, on the back of their coats a Bright Red A in a Retro Rocket are emblazoned. Next to them are two robots handing out pamphlets and moving with such fluid grace that it kind of distracts from well... being robots.

The Kiosk is labelled "Team Asimov - Recruiting" and they are handing out pamphlets and information, with a TV playing a recruiting video showing off the history of Asimov and their features.

The robots cease for a moment as two Porygon fly out and dance around, before flying back into the robots.

"Join Asimov today! Help be a part of the effort to bring Man to the stars!"

"He's not fazed! It's not effective at all!" Colton hollered as he trailed Sam to the door, still shooting Zach in a futile effort to keep him at bay. Unfortunately, as he was more focused on running than gunning, many shots went wide.

Unova, Black City

Super Nerd had been studying for nearly 2 years at this point. Wrote a scientific essay, got some notice from the community...and now here he was. Independent research project, and sipping on coffee while he walked down the street.

Life had been pretty good lately.

He'd tried his best to keep up with the happenings of the J-Team, but it was hard for him to really get involved when his passions kept so much of his attention...and then he saw the Kiosk. The porygon caught his attention, followed by the name of the group.

"Asimov." He mumbled to himself, adjusted the black rimmed glasses on his face. "They were the mars folks. Interesting. Hm..."

He contemplated the situation for awhile, before he finally stepped up to the desk, smiling sheepishly at the pair of recruiters. "Uh, hello there." He started. "My name is Teddie. Teddie Lace, I was wondering if...well. I'm not sure I'm interested in joining Asimov, but do you do internship or study programs?"

Ever: Oh, uh, okay.

PEFE!Every: I just got the destination for the flash drive.

Ever: Okay.

PEFE!Every:...So, I need to go.

Ever: You don't, but okay.

-there's a pause-

PEFE!Every: I'm really scared.

Ever: Then don't do it.

PEFE!Every: You don't get it I have to get that flash drive I want to know what's on it and it might be something important if Izaya wants it so if I can get it before anyone else I can maybe make a copy, and—

Ever: You kind of explained this all over text.

PEFE!Every: But I don't know how I'm going to get it I don't fight things and I figured since you do and I've never actually seen you express fear or any other emotion that you would be able to help...

Ever: I'm not sure where you got the idea from that I don't experience fear. I don't think it's actually possible to be that obsessed with ghosts without being a little scared of death. It's self-contradictory.

Muninn: <Hey!>

Ever: -pets Muninn- A ton of people try to kill me. If I let them know I'm scared of them, then they'll think what they're doing is working. Confidence is what keeps them off-balance. So I think it's normal to be scared of doing things with a high probability of your death.

PEFE!Every: This isn't that comforting.

Ever: I don't know if it's supposed to be. I've been trying to talk you out of this.

PEFE!Every: Not happening.

Ever: Then it sounds like you've already decided this is going to get done. Which is probably the first step to conquering your fear. I think.

PEFE!Every: You're sure you won't help?

Ever: You sure you won't ask Echo?

-PEFE!Every nods-

Ever: Cipher scares me more than dying. I'm pretty good in a fight, but against them...

-he shakes his head. Muninn, who has been reading the book, makes a face that is hard to read under the Latios plush, but could be construed as some kind of shame-

Ever: I'd only freeze up. Something you should try and avoid, by the way. Pro tip.

PEFE!Every: Thanks.

Ever: You've got this. You are, despite your many, many, many flaws as a human being, pretty smart.

PEFE!Every: Thanks.

-she sits there-

Ever: ...Are you going to go?

PEFE!Every: ...Can I get a hug first?

Ever: I've got one arm.

PEFE!Every: It turns out they're really nice and anyway I might die. Do you want our last conversation to be you denying me a hug?

-PEFE!Every is teleported to just outside a facility that, oddly, is not in a desert. Rather, it is hidden in the midst of a forest, with a very large clearing to make room fr the building. The windows are broken, the exterior is patchy, the door's been knocked off its hinges, and inside, the lights are on.-

-Some of the lab rooms PEFE!Every passes by have been utterly wrecked, just like the outside — lab equipment bent and strewn around, puddles of odd substances, that sort of deal. Some of them, though, are in comparatively pristine condition.-
