<I really should have seen this coming.> 9-Volt had enough time to think before he was struck with two consecutive Fire Punches that he would be feeling for the next three mornings.
No other Pokemon in Colton's party had the gall to try to stand up to the buggers. Semi-conscious, all three incapacitated Pokemon had the same idea.
All that remained of where they lied was Colton's jacket, now with 7 Pokemon in the balls in the right pocket.

Flying Colors
So, this is my second time being stuck in Ultra Space. Just... just fantastic. Unlike last time, I actually have a way to record stuff.
Okay, so, just in case I lose my memory again, uh, my name is Scarlette Anemos. I... think I'm 18? I don't know when my birthday is, but I feel like it passed this year. Best not to do anything I'd need to get carded for. Anyway, I'm a Faller, someone who got thrown across space and time through an Ultra Wormhole. Something about us attracts Ultra Beasts, so, who knows how well I'll survive this time. But this time I'm not alone.
My team is, as of right now, a Midday Lycanroc named Gus, I'll talk more about him later, he's special; a Primarina named Calliope — he's a boy, it was the first name I came up with and he likes it well enough; a Charjabug named Viper, she's a girl; a Salandit named Pun-Pun, he's male so as far as I know he's not evolving any time soon; and a Dhelmise named Chantey. I got him and his entire crew just before I came through the wormhole.
Gus and I have what's known as the Bond Phenomenon, or a Battle Bond — it's not really all that well understood, but in the thick of battle, he transforms into a stronger form and links with my mind and stuff. It's weird.
Let's see, let's see... oh, right, Chantey. He's got a whole crew following him. I spent a while getting their names, let's see...
Well, the obvious ones are Chantey himself, and Bedhead. They're the captain and first mate of the crew respectively — I dunno if I specified they used to have a ship that got wrecked. All of these are nicknames, by the way, I don't know any of their real names. Anyway, Chantey wouldn't say anything to me, but Bedhead said the captain got his name from his singing. Sea chanties. I guess you tend to pass the time like that when you're stranded undead on a wrecked ship for a century.
Bedhead got his name because he's a mess, both emotionally and physically. His hair was impossible to manage when he was alive.
The Trevenant that pushed me was Sticks. He was a metaphorical tree before he became a literal one. Tall, gangly, that sort of thing.
The Lampent that almost burned us down is Sweeps. He's got three kids, all Litwick. They're Sage, Shears, and Pourboy. I can't tell the difference yet.
The Jellicent is Moptop. She is really, really obsessed with her job as a janitor. My head's still throbbing from being hit by her broom.
Pitch is the Cofagrigus. He used to be a sporty outdoorsy type of guy before he got dragged into pirate business. They're pirates, if that wasn't clear.
Anyway, the other three were Pokemon in life before becoming Pokemon in death. Lawnchair the Misdreavus used to be a Servine. Poker Face the Haunter was a Nidorina. And Old Mutt the Sableye was a Mightyena. There were more, but some didn't make it through the Spirit Games, whatever those are.
Also, for some reason, they all speak human languages, not Monese. Even the ones that were always Pokemon are just as fluent in [STATIC] as me. Who knows what's up with them.
Okay, lemme save this so I don't risk losing it due to a dead battery in my tape recorder, if that's how this thing works. Kukui gave this thing to me just in case, and I'm impressed it still works. I have spare batteries, don't worry.

I'm reminded that I only have enough food for, like, two days, unless we ration it extremely sparingly. Luckily, Chantey's crew doesn't actually need to eat, since they're ghosts. The rest of us, though, we've gotta figure that out.
I made it out alive once. We can make it out alive again.
I really hope we don't have to hunt Ultra Beasts for food. Are they even nourishing? Is there any nutritional value to them?

I think I wounded Chantey's pride. Like, a lot. I can't get him to follow unless I actually recall him into his Ultra Ball. Bedhead's tried to talk to him, but it hasn't worked.
Sticks and Sweeps recovered from their weird sword-induced anger, but I think Chantey was stuck underwater with it for far too long. I don't know if Dhelmise are capable of suffering withdrawal symptoms, but I think that's more or less what's going on.
