Between his personal training, his habit for efficiently directing anger and frustration, and his massive sword that could be misconstrued for a surf board at first glance, the goons and thugs around Pyrite had begun to see Dune less as a human and more like a biblical plague.-
-What the problem actually is is that he was running out of thugs, and his frustrations were starting to simmer like a ghost pepper hot sauce.-

They embrace, and then the Ninetails trots up into the sky, headed for the peak of Mount Lanakila.

She sighs, then turns away, staring through the gates into the Malie Gardens.

Youko is at the Malasada Shop, mid-meal, chatting with a local old woman she knew as a kid, catching up on the gossip.
Madame Amana: You know, your sweetheart is working at the tea shop in the Gardens, these days.
Youko pauses, just about to bite into a malasada.
Youko: ... they're not mine. Not these days, at least.
Amana: Not since you ran away?
She swallows thickly, and it takes her a second to speak past the emotions lodged in her throat.
Youko: Not since I ran away from it all, no.
Amana sighs, reaching out to pat Youko on the shoulder.
Amana: You should go talk to them.
Youko: I doubt they want to see me ever again. After what happened...
Amana: You'd be surprised. Either way, you'll never know until you try, girl.
Youko: Yes'm.
Malie City, Now
Youko sighs again, staring at the gates to the Malie Gardens, her hands shoved in her pockets. The light of the sunset paints the city, the white and black tiles line work on parchment, colored in shades of orange. The familiar scent of the Garden stings in her nostrils, her heart. So close to home, so close to the return, and still distant yet. Lovers, parents and children, single souls, all trickle out of the park at the end of day, leaving for food and family and home, whatever that might be. None among them are the one she's looking for, the one she desperately wants to see, the one she doesn't want to see her. Giving up for now, she turns away, to trudge back through the streets of home made foreign by time, by distance, to fall asleep in her cot, as she does every night, alone but for her Pokemon.
