-The Ice Beam hits, damaging Ruby severely. She glares at the Wishiwashi.-

Ruby: <Really? Is that how thou would be?>

-Roots extend from her legs, burrowing deep into the lake floor and raising Ruby above the water.-

-Meanwhile, Shaun has pulled out a bag of X-items and is searching through them.-

-The Wishiwashi, not having a better idea, shoots another Ice Beam-

-The Ice Beam knocks Ruby down to the red.-

Shaun: "Again, one-trick Ponyta."

-He pulls out a Dire Hit and tosses it to Ruby.-

Ruby: "My thanks! Now, ruffians, see how the sun gives me strength!"

-Ruby now has full health.-

Brooklet Hill, past

-Guess what the Wishiwashi does this time-

-Well, besides an eye twitch, it's another Ice Beam!-

Iki Town - Past

Sergey gave a thumps up with a smile

Sergey: "Haha, roger, if I see her I'll tell her, although if you want to tell her personally, I think she's currently in Heahea City."

-The Ice Beam knocks off half of Ruby's health.-

-Ruby uses Petal Dance.-

Route 5, yesterday

Fomantis: <Well I certainly->

-stops and stares at Locke-

<...Your ears. Do human ears really look like that?>

Locke: Uh, yeah, why?

Fomantis: <...They're hideous. What's wrong with them?>

Locke: Nothing's wrong with them, they're fine just the way they are!

Iki Town

Phaz: Well, if I see her, I'll tell her.

Iki Town - Past

Sergey: "Cool, so, anything else you wanna talk about?"

Ghostus: <I mean, they've got a point. Human ears are kinda weird.>

-Ruby's Petal Dance crashes into the Alolamola with crit strength, knocking them out-

-The Wishiwashi, still standing, lets out another Ice Beam-

Royal Avenue

-Notices a bunch of cosplayers walking around-

No... No... No... It can't be!

Pici: <Can't be what?>

Muddy: <J-Con...>

Legion: <What's a "J-Con"?>

Helios: <Astroturfing that gained a life of its own.>

-The Ice Beam hits hard, and Ruby is only still standing due to her Ingrain. However, she cannot heal with Synthesis again as she attacks with more petals.-

Shaun: "Alright, Ruby! You got this!"

-The Wishiwashi is slammed into this time and seems to take it hard-

-They fire off another Ice Beam, but shortly after, the other fishes forming the School form retreat and only a somewhat-larger-than-normal Wishiwashi is left standing-

-Ruby faints, her roots receding into the ground.-

Shaun: "Good job, Ruby! Lightning, finish 'im off!"

Lightning: <Uh, ok. I mean, he did hurt my friends...>

-Lightning swims in close and uses Spark.-

-And with Lightning's attack, the Wishiwashi runs out of energy to battle-

-As she swims off, Lana calls to Shaun, Tsunami, and Lightning-

Lana: "Congratulations! You've cleared the Water Trial!"

-Shaun pumps a fist.-

Shaun: "Alright!"

-He recalls Lightning, and he and Tsunami make their way over to Lana.-

Lana: "Well, since you won, here's your Z Crystal."

-She offers Shaun a Waterium Z-

Lana: "As for the pose to do it..."

-She starts with the standard Z Pose, then moves her hands in a wave-like motion-

Mezzo: That's the point, duh. You can tell that something terrible happened here, leaving what was once a pleasant village as these barren, empty ruins. And you wonder, maybe whatever caused this calamity still lurks in this ancient place... waiting to strike again.

Forte: Okay, now you're just getting creepy.

-a person in an Eevee fursuit approaches the J-Con building-

Shaun: "Thanks!"

-He takes the Z-Crystal and slots it next to his Flynium-Z.-

Shaun: "Next I need to go to Wela Volcano, correct?"

Route 6

-Ludmilla heads towards Royal Avenue to check up at the Pokemon Center after training.-

-After spotting the massive crowd of people, she locks up, turns around, and goes right back the way she came, even though she can't get to a Pokemon Center going that way.-

Lana: "Really? I heard the Fire Trial was in Lush Jungle."

Route 5, yesterday

Fomantis: <See? He agrees with me!>

Locke: Look, can you just leave us alone? You shouldn't be pestering us like this for stopping in your "territory" for a moment.

Fomantis: <But I have to! I have to live up to my father!>

Locke: -blinks- Father?

Royal Avenue, now

-Shizuo sees everyone heading in-

Shizuo: Is this...?

-heads in-

-appearing right at home in the mix is a cheery young man with white hair and a fabulous coat, with his beau by his side-
