Shaun took the healing items and rushed to Jessica's side. "Here you go, girl. You'll be fine."

< Thank you, Shaun.> She got to her feet and was bouncing around in no time. < Shaun, we did it! We won!>

Shaun grinned as he picked her up. "Yes we did." He set her on his shoulder, then turned to Hala and extended a hand. "You and your team did well. I was worried there for a second."

Botox: <I am, in a sense. Why?>

-Ludmilla wanders in, a Bounsweet on her shoulder.-

Clerk: ... Uh oh.

Ludmilla: Hello!

Clerk: Oh, er, uh, hello Ludmilla. You, uh...

-Ludmilla greedily eyes the just-out-of-the-oven malasadas on the tray.-

Clerk: *Sigh* Yep. Good thing we made extras.

-Ludmilla hands the clerk a card, the clerk swipes the card, the card reads good, and so Ludmilla gets her malasadas.-

-The whole dozen.-

-Ludmilla takes the tray - hopping between one hand and another, it was still kinda hot - and gets to her booth. No, not a booth. Her booth. The second one on the left.-

-She takes her seat, and Anastasia takes hers. A flash of emotion crosses her face as the two of them dig in.-

-...-

-Two minutes later...-

Ludmilla: *Belch!*

Anastasia: *Belch!*

Ludmilla: Wow, you beat me this time! I only got five! You got seven.

Anastasia: <Yep.>

Venomous: <Just guessing, really. I've seen some other Grimer around here, too. Granted, they're not like the Grimer back home in Kanto.>

Hala: I did say I was the Kahuna for a reason, boy! And remember, I won't be holding back at all the next time we meet!

(He chuckles at Jessica's energy.)

Hala: Now, if you'd be so kind as to give me your Trainer license so I can stamp it as proof of your victory?

Botox: -gives a gargly chuckle- <But of course! We are Alolan Grimer, and our sludge is much more refined!>

Shaun: "Here ya go."

Venomous: <Refined in what way?>

(After stamping Shaun's trainer license with the image of Tapu Koko, Hala waves goodbye to his latest challenger.)

-And with that attack, the Rattata goes down-

Maggie: "Alright, Dazzling Gleam!"

-Sugar Sugar lets off a fairy-like light which takes out the other Rattata-

Maggie: "And that's one down."

Kernel: <Yay.>

Venomous: <This sounds like one of those 'my region is better than your region' things, but I'll take your word for it.>

Shaun in turn waves to Hala and turns around. As he starts walking away, he remembers his conversation with Sergey earlier that week.

Shaun: "Hala, wait! Do you know where I can get a Poke Ride?"

Iki Town

Hala: Oh, that? Just get a license from Alola Transit and you'll be good to go!

Shaun: "Alola Transit? Where's that? I have a license for my Mons, but I got them from a Pokemon Center."

Daydre is currently sitting under an umbrella playing FE Heroes on her phone. Rowan trots up (he'd been picked up some time offscreen) to her from somewhere off in the city.

"Dammit, still no Azura..."

Rowan: <Hey Daydre I heard there's an ice version of me somewhere in this region.. That seems pretty interest-.. You haven't moved from this spot since I left have you.>

Daydre looks over at him, her expression reminiscent of a Deerling in the headlights.

"W-what?.. No I went to go see the..."

Rowan gives her the Ninetales equivalent of an eyebrow raise.

"...Yes I haven't moved. Wait if you expected me to have moved then why did you greet me like you were expecting me to be here"

Rowan sighs. <That's besides the point. And I forgot for a second, that's all.. Anyway, wasn't it you who wanted to do the Island Challenge here?>

"That's fair... And yeah."

<Okay so let's go see the- what was his name again?>

"Hala."

<Yeah, him. Let's go see him so you can do the thing.>

Daydre stands up and gets herself ready.

".. Okay. Yeah, let's go."

And so they head off to Iki Town.

Shaun was walking down Route 1 after visiting the Poke Center, Jessica on his right shoulder. He was looking for Sergey's camp.

Jessica nodded at a tent. < Is that it?>

"I think it is. Let's go say hi. I think you'll get along well with his Roggenrola."

< Oh, yay!>
