Locke: How do you J-Teamers get in on the whole understanding Pokemon thing? I've heard there's some weird translator apparatus plus some other options but I'd like to know how to get to them because I've had to sit in on multiple human-to-Pokemon conversations I couldn't understand half of and it was weird and akward and um.

-Calliope is bitten on the nose. In addition to hurting, it makes a very characteristic HONK-

Calliope: <...You didn't hear that!>

-He spits water in the Raticate's face to get him away.-

Scarlette: I was gonna tell you to do Disarming Voice again...

-Rose heals Nora back up, then looks over at Ilima-

Rose: Uh, am I allowed to help her out?

Narrow: <I like to live on the edge.>

-they shrug and lean back against the side of the boat, in an impressively chill manner for someone wearing bright yellow and pom-poms-

Ever: -looking out to see Poni Island- Oh, thank you so much!

...You know, this is going to sound weird, but for a bit there something felt a little off. I guess it's just been a while since I traveled anywhere by boat.

-They try and Bite Calliope's nose again-

Lilac gives a coy smile. "I get that a lot, my dear Cole. I'm going to drop you off at the docks, but I will be heading out. My sister is supposed to be showing me where this dragon I'm looking for is."

Ever: Ooh, good luck with finding the dragon. Tell me if you need any help with that or anything, I love dragons.

Verdant Cavern

Calliope: <Ack!>

-He covers his nose, and is instead bit on the flippers — which hurts just as much, but, no honk.-

Scarlette: Well, uh, please, help!

-Rose and Nora rush over to help.-

Calliope: <Come on, I had this completely under control!>

Nora: <From the looks of it, not so much.>

Calliope: <Whatever!>

-Calliope uses another Water Gun, which Nora follows with a Thunder Shock-

I hope I don't end up regretting this...

-Pulling out my armband-

You'll need to wear this. The other methods do work but tend to be rather... finicky.

-The Raticate is doused and shocked-

Scarlette: Okay, right, the Totem Pokemon... hoo boy.

Rose: Hey, we've got this. We've got this, don't we?

Scarlette: ...Right. Yeah!

-Rose smiles-

Rose: C'mon, then, let's take them down.

-They heal their Pokemon up, and head to the back of the cavern.-

-As Rose and Scarlette enter the back cavern, they would notice it seems very quiet-

-There is a pedestal in the middle of the cavern that seems to be associated with the trail and has some sort of glowing inside of it-

I suppose considering its final evolution that's pretty fitting a form.

Tyto: <He's a Rowlet, like me!>

-To Alli-

Careful, birdmons can easily suffocate if you hold them wrong, they don't have diaphragms like we do.

Verdant Cavern — Totem's Den

Rose: ...Huh. Wonder what that is.

-Rose starts walking toward it.-

Alli: Oh, right, sorry! -places Locke on her shoulder-

-A similarly large Raticate jumps out-

<Didn't expect to be doing this together, though.>

Totem Gumshoos: <Yeah, Ilima trained us to work fine on our own, but as a pair...>

Totem Pokemon: <We're going to take you down!>

And now once that thing comes off you'll continue to have the ability to understand standard Monese.

-Locke hops off Ali's shoulder and removes the armband-

<I admit I have more experience in music, but taking a stab at painting would certainly be interesting.>

Rosary: <Ooh! It's fun! I used to paint with berries and the blood of my enemies, but now I mostly use acrylics or a digitizer!>

Rosary: <It's a much cooler name for a drawing tablet from a more radical era.>

-As she says this, a paintbrush drops on her head-

-the paintbrush has an ash-grey body, tipped by a fluorescent plume of multicolored, rippling paint-

-She moves to pick it up, but, as she does so, she is coated in multicolored paint, which then takes form, leaving her as a red-and-black-colored Talonflame-y shape wearing a frilly dress and domino mask-

Lisa: <Wha->

Rosary: <You're... made of paint now?>

-she pokes Lisa lightly with a scythe; Lisa's body reacts with the consistency of paint, though Lisa glares at Rosary as she does this-

Lisa: <Gah, in what world is this an invitation to prod at me?>

Rosary: <It's science!>

Lisa: <Hm, well, science would do better to ask someone before involving them in observation.>

<Though… what is this thing?>

Rosary: <It's some kind of... Magic Paintbrush?>

-she steps over to examine the brush, accidently stepping in a puddle of paint leaking out from the brush-

Rosary: <Whoop- aulp!>

-she slips into the puddle, which would seem to be much deeper than it should be by rights-

Bloop!

Lisa: <...Oh, what?>

-She reaches into the puddle to pull Rosary out...-

Rosary: <Umm...>

-...though she has also been paint-ified, her body now colored a bright yellow-and-pink; she also seems to be wearing dragon-themed armor, complete with tail-

Lisa: <Hrm, well, this is seeming to be a bit of a nuisance.>

Rosary: <Hm. Maybe not...>

Lisa: <...Oh?>

Rosary: <If you're a paint creature, painting will be easy now!>

Lisa: <...While I will give you that, that doesn't mean I want to spend the rest of my life like this.>

Rosary: <Yeah, it would be hard to wear a wedding dress that way. But these things usually fix themselves around this group?>

Lisa: <Maybe, but I'd rather not just sit around for such a thing.>

-As she says this, the paint begins to drip off of her, reverting her to her normal self-

Lisa: <...Well, that was certainly convenient.>

-She then holds the brush aloft, paint spilling from it and reverting her to her paint-y form-

Lisa: <Alright, I have less problem with this now.>

Rosary: <Cool! So I was planning to go paint Verdant Cavern, want to come along?>

Lisa: <Might as well.>

The Lady in Violet smirks. "...Kid... If I were you, I'd duck, I anticipate your sister's about to smack you upside the head."

Mezzo: Forte, I can't even reach you right now. Though smacking you upside the head isn't a bad idea...
