-A Charizard X comes flailing gracelessly toward Seish and Fuu, attempting to Dragon Tail them-

Snowpoint Temple

Within the depths of the ancient temple, two skeletal figures clad in ragged armour are lurking in the shadows, the blue pinpricks of light in their eyes peering out from the darkness. They would probably look quite intimidating, were it not for the fact that one of them looks to be on the brink of falling asleep.

Draugr 1: ...I am starting to think that you never thought this through as thoroughly as you claimed.

Draugr A: What are you talking about? It's perfect! We've got an ancient tomb up in the frozen northern wastes on our doorstep, how could we not do a Skyrim reference? Plus, the remastered edition just came out, so it's topical and stuff. I guarantee that the first people we jump out at are gonna be so impressed. Assuming they don't, uh, just Flamethrower us first. Which might happen.

Draugr 1: I doubt we are likely to ambush any adventuring parties down here, however.

Draugr A: Says who?

Draugr 1: The woman at the door responsible for keeping people like us out of the temple.

Draugr A: Ah, don't worry about her. Someone'll show up eventually. We just need to be patient. We're undead, remember! It's not as though we get cold, hungry or tired.

The first draugr facepalms.

Draugr 1: What I do still get is irritated at you.

Dragur A: Yeah, not even death'll save you from that.

A Sneasel by his side speaks up.

Sneasel: <So, um, not to be a downer, but I was told there'd be candy?>

Dragur A: Yeah, yeah, soon enough, kid. You're not getting paid by the hour, y'know.

Dragur 1: Considering all the important work I could be doing if I wasn't crouching in a snowdrift right now, I think I should be entitled to some recompense as well.

Dragur A: Don't either of you have any Halloween spirit? It's people like you that're making this holiday so materialistic.

Dragur 1: Remind me again how much you spent on these costumes.

Dragur A: Not the point!

Psyche blinks. ~If it would make it easier, might I have a look, hon?~

Alyssa: ...Um okay sure yes

Psyche nods. ~All right, now what seems to be the issue, dear?~

She starts probing deeper.

Jubilife City

-Psyche will see the memory of Doopliss breaking into their room, transforming Skye, then Diane, then the three of them leaving-

-It's not nearly as terrifying as the above sentence makes it seem, but it's still concerning-

-Seishirou and Fuuma yell and unload Lum juice on Diraho-

-Dihrao is doused by an unyielding spray of Lum Juice-

   Dihraozard X: <NOOOOOO I HAVE BEEN SLAIN! T-tell Nymph... I loved her...>   

-He falls to the ground dramatically. It takes him a moment to realize there is absolutely no effect. He's not even hurt.-

   Dihraozard X: <...Um. This is awkward.>

Psyche blinks. ~Well this is a distressing turn of events. I've seen this before in some of the older J-Team memories. We uh, should stay far, far away. Or at least I need to. I don't fare well with Hiveminds.~

Near Diraho

-the Jerkbros blink-

Fuuma: ...This is.

-They promptly get A3's text-

Seishirou: WELL THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN GOOD TO KNOW SOONER

-they flee to the meeting spot-

Striation City, Hudson House

-after many hours of handing out candy to any trick-or-treaters that may come by, Joe and Munn check their candy bowl to see if there's any left-

Munn: Hmmm. Nope! Joe, go see if there's any more in the bag, OK?

-Joseph nods, running back to the kitchen with the bowl as Munn looks at the group of trick-or-treaters before him. There are four, each one ranging from about seven to ten years old: the oldest is a boy, wearing a vampire outfit with pale white makeup. The next oldest is a girl, wearing a pair of pink Mew ears and a frown fit for an undertaker. The two youngest are twins, a boy and a girl, dressed as Pugsley and Wednesday Addams, respectively-

Munn: So, how's your haul so far, huh?

Vampire: Decent.

Mew Girl: But not enough.

-their tones are clipped and severe; Munn is slightly unnerved. Joseph returns, apologetic smile on his face-

Joseph: Hey, sorry, you guys. We just ran out of candy.

-he expects a peal of disappointed groans; he is greeted with stony silence and stares that carry the peculiar sensation of divine judgment-

Joseph: Well, you should be off to your parents, now!

Munn: Yeah. Happy Halloween!

-he slowly closes the door and sighs-

Munn: Weird kids.

-Ashen is pouring over a map of Jubilife, as if a general planning an attack or defense.-

-Argent is bouncing ideas off of nobody in particular as to ways to cure the infection.-

-Archimedes is keeping a look out for Glitchmegazards.-

-Joseph and Munn, still in their costumes, curl up next to each other on the couch as they flip through the television channels-

Joseph: Which channel is Great Pumpkaboo on, again?

Munn: Seven.

Joseph: Thanks. Y'know, this is the one part of Halloween my mom likes. Watching that show with me and Emma.

Munn: Well, we're housesitting for her! That's kinda the same, right?

Joseph: Emma's not here, though.

Munn: Yeah, I know. But still! After this, it's on to Thanksgiving, and then I'm sure she'll come back from wherever she is, right?

Joseph: Yeah...

-he sighs, resting his head on Munn's shoulder, horn headband moving slightly. He appears to be all comfortable until...-

Margaret: ~Hey. You two.~

-Joseph looks up-

Joseph: Mmmm?

Margaret: ~They're still out there, you know.~

Joseph: Huh...?

-she points to the front window. The four trick-or-treaters denied candy stand at the end of the walkway, steady as tombstones-

Joseph: ...huh.

Well that's irritating, what could've caused that?

Psyche is outraged. ~Well now we have to save them! D:< But again, I can't get close to them, now that we know they're floating around, I may have to lock myself away.~

-Noelle tilts her head-

Noelle: Hive minds? Like... aliens?

Striation City, Hudson House

Munn: ...

Joseph: So...uh. What do we do?

Margaret: ~Well, what do they want?~

Joseph: I don't know! You want I should talk to them? They don't seem happy to see me...

Munn: What else can we do?

Joseph: Call the cops?

Munn: Why? They're, like, munchkins.

Joseph: If you say s-oh shit. Oh shit oh shit oh shit one of them's coming. One of them's coming, Munn, what do we do.

-indeed, the young girl with the Mew ears and the somber face is walking towards the window, without any hurry-

Munn: We just stay. Calm. Right? Keep the window closed, too.

-soon, the girl stands in front of the window, looking in at Joseph and Munn. She doesn't speak for a good moment, which allows Joseph to look at her closer. Her hair is blonde and wavy, falling down past her shoulders and framing her hard blue eyes. Using the phrase "hard blue eyes" already feels like something of an oxymoron, even if you're not talking about a nine year old, but her eyes deserve the description. She doesn't blink-

Joseph: OK. So...um...what's wrong? We don't have any more candy. Sorry!

-she remains silent. The autumn leaves rustle in the trees nearby. The other three watch from the distance-

Joseph: Are you...lost? Do you know where your parents are?

Mew Girl: Yes. I know exactly where they are.

-Joseph wonders exactly what she means by that, before she continues-

Mew Girl: We know you're lying, sir. Adults always say that they run out of candy, but they keep some for themselves. Their parents do it all the time, and they take some of the candy they gather, too.

Joseph: Ok, but what about your-

Mew Girl: You have ten minutes to bring out the rest of your candy. We'll be waiting.

-Joseph opens his mouth, before seeing the other three children advance forward in lockstep-

Joseph: ...

Psyche shakes her head. ~Worse. Glitches.~

-She goes back to looking over her map.-

Argent: ~Anyone have any bright ideas on how to fix this, now?~

Basket: -enters, flanked by the other two Tropii- <...it was a bust for you too?>

Teksab: <Hm. I don't suppose anybody saw any text explaining why Lum juice failed?>

Raspberry: <Try not to mention narration in public.>

Basket: <Yeah, you'll tempt a retcon and those are disorienting.>
