(Wilhelm is still staring impassively at his Holo Caster.)

Wilhelm: I'm not doing nothing. I'm simply trying something that may well be fruitless.

-Kirsten tilts her head-

Kirsten: And what's that?

NI HQ

(Wilhelm still refuses to avert his eyes from the Holo Caster. The circles on his gauntlet, in which he's clutching the device that has him so absorbed, are glowing very slightly.)

Wilhelm: Experiments in communications technology. Specifically, whether two Psychics attempting long-distance communication can do so covertly by "hijacking" the signals generated by mobile telephones, so to speak.

Kirsten: Oooh, really? So, like, you could...I dunno, psychically call someone's phone? Or psychically listen in on someone?

NI HQ

Wilhelm: What I'm attempting to do right now, specifically, is establish mental contact with a psychic located, ooh, several hundred miles away? One who lacks the funds to purchase a phone, at that. Such a link would be useful.

-He starts flying away-

-Kirsten nods-

Kirsten: And who is this psychic?

(Wilhelm grins, though he still isn't looking at Kirsten.)

Wilhelm: A fellow I learned of through an immensely useful contact of mine. Apparently he's very interested in a working relationship with Neo-Illusion - him and his whole group...

(There is a dull *ping* from the Holo Caster, and the screen suddenly glows a dull purple. Wilhelm allows himself to raise a clenched fist in triumph.)

-Kirsten perks to attention-

Kirsten: Who? Whose group is this? I wanna see!

-she scampers over to look over Wilhelm's shoulder-

(Unfortunately for Kirsten, the screen of the phone is a single, solid block of purple light - the sort of light, in fact, generated by Psychic energy. Wilhelm seems lost in thought, occasionally tipping his head or smiling slightly in response to a conversation occurring entirely within his mind.)

-Kirsten sighs, rolling her eyes and crossing her arms. She waits for it to finish up before asking:-

Kirsten: So. Talk. Nothing's fucking happening around this place, we might as well figure something out to get our asses in gear.

(Wilhelm eventually comes to and looks at Kirsten.)

Wilhelm: First off, why don't we inform our employer of these prospective helping hands? I'm sure she'd be delighted to have more manpower at her disposal!

NI HQ

-Kirsten grimaces-

Kirsten: Didn't wanna have to deal with Spider today, but whatever. Let's do it.

NI HQ

(Wilhelm rises with a sweeping hand gesture.)

Wilhelm: Lead the way, ma'am. After all, you know the facility better than I.

NI HQ

-Kirsten nods, smiling a bit, and goes forth, walking through the corridors of the headquarters. It's still largely empty, but more people are likely to come-

(Wilhelm remains silent until they reach the office, assuming they aren't distracted en route.)

Pastoria

-Etran, Eggshell, and Siku are a bit away from Quirinus.-

Eggshell:< Are you sure we should just leave?>

Siku:< I don't like it, but Etran's orders.>

Etran: I know what you guys are thinking. Did you really think I'd just do nothing after they insulted my buddy?

Siku: <Buddy! I should have known you had a plan!>

-Etran pulls out a Pokeball.-

(He knocks with his gauntlet hand, resulting in the cold clank clank of metal on metal.)

(Quirinus' masked face tilts slightly in Etran's direction.)

Quirinus: ~Can't take a bloody hint, can you?~

Um, Etran walked out of range of The conflict. He's not even near them. This was supposed to be a sneak attack.Welp, guess that won't work now.
