In The Distant Past, In An Empire Whose Name Has Long Been Forgotten

-Heskel listens to the worries murmurings of the two Scions before him. His mouth is a sneer, though not out of disgust - for indeed, Heskel always sneered.-

You are telling me that these words came... from the Emporer himself?

-The two Scions nod. Heskel considers this.-

-The Emperor, in his wisdom, is never wrong. Whenever he claims new territory for the Eternal Empire, he either knows what challenges they will face, or is sure to consult him and the Scions to divine what is being hidden from sight. Whenever insurrection, however fleeting, rears its ugly, hideous head, the Emperor is there - once, in person! - to calm the hearts of the people. The Knights, blind fools as they may be, serve their purpose as the Scions do. They are tools of the Emperor, and together they work to manifest his will upon the lands that fly his banner.-

-And yet, this thing... this... "Criminal"...-

-Heskel strokes his hand across the cool metal skin of his Bronzong as he considers.-

-This "Criminal"... In the Odessen province... He had divined through the provinces many times over - with painstaking detail each time, as is his duty as Grandmaster Scion. And yet, the only thing he had seen in that province over the last two years were the failing crops (which were affecting ALL of the eastern provinces), and the occasional Blueblood recruit.-

-Wait.-

-There had been only Blueblood recruits. Never a Fuchsiablood. In two whole years, none of the ten thousand population were revealed to be Fuchsiablooded.-

I must see the Emperor immediately.

-Heskel stands, and the two Scions (were they still murmuring to themselves? No decorum at all) jump in place.-

Whatever this Criminal may be, I believe it may be related to our Foresight.

Human!Kendall: Reshiram, Zekrom, and I were once one... It's possible Reshiram could be tracked through me.

-Kendall stretches their arms out and motions the Aurics in the room to place hands on them. Gilgamesh and Enkidu do, and Kendall just waits on Tagg-

Hospital

-Puts a hand on Kendall, and my eyes glow blue with Aura-

Gilgamesh: I see this bigass pink crystal that looks kinda familiar...

Steven A: The sundial! That's where they were!

Steven 1: So we have our lead.

Enkidu: ~Should we go now? Or assess our options? Kalos is far from here...~

Woman: I belive I escaped them... I just need a brave, strong man like you to get me out of here safely!

Xatu can get us to Kalos quickly... if he feels like being around.

Hopefully we don't run into Neo-Flare or something while we're over there.

Zachary is still looking intensely for the Budew while Aurum and Ghiaccio lay back and read some magazines.

Ghiaccio: <C'mon Zachary, can't we just relax for a bit? I thought that was the point of coming here...>

Aurum: ~She asks why you won't relax for a bit~

Zachary: "Aurum, I just realized that I have to take my job seriously, anything could happen to that Budew if we wait too much, what if those Staravias come back and to eat it? I didn't realize until now the importance of finding that Budew as soon as possible, so i'll look in every nook and cranny until I find that Budew, even if he's miles away from us right now!"

Zachary suddenly feels something on his bag and signals to Aurum to use his psychic powers, which he uses to reveal the Shiny Budew in his bag chomping at the last of Zachary's Poffins.

Zachary: "Since when have you been in there!? Whatever, I saved something just for this occasion!"

Zachary gets out an Ultra Ball from his pocket and the Budew responds by using Stun Spore on Aurum and Ghiaccio.

Budew: <Aha! Now I can make my escape, just like always!>

Aurum: <Are you sure about that?>

Budew: <W-What do you mean?>

Aurum: <Synchronize>

The Budew looks shocked and gulps as he is suddenly inflicted with the Paralysis status as well, preventing it from running away and allowing Zachary to send out Smoke.

Zachary: "Okay, Smoke, we don't want to faint this guy, we just wanna weaken him enough so I can catch him, so use Leaf Blade!"

Budew: <W-WHAT!? F-Farfetch'd c-can learn L-Leaf Blade? BUT THEY'RE FARFETCH'D! THEY'RE USELESS!>

Smoke: <First of all, lady, Farfetch'd do learn Leaf Blade, i'll let you know my mother was a lovely Gogoat....Second of all, we don't appreciate brats like you dishonoring the Farfetch'd name...>

Smoke raises his leek up into the sky and it starts glowing green as it becomes way sharper, before dashing towards the Budew and slashing him with it, not doing enough damage to knock him out because of Budew's Poison typing but weakening him quite a bit, afterwards, Zachary throws the Ultra Ball at the Budew.

Zachary: "The damage plus the paralysis should be just enough to catch him!"

Zachary crosses his fingers as the Ultra Ball shakes before it clicks, he then picks the Ultra Ball and lets out a loud sigh of relief before turning towards the still-paralyzed Aurum and Ghiaccio and applying a Paralysis Heal on them.

Zachary: "Okay guys, now we can relax and do anything we want for the time being, for real this time."

Zachary and his team are wandering Veilstone City and can be interacted with.

Blitz: "My Natu wasn't with me in Kalos, so I guess that's our best bet other than getting a plane ride or something"

"Sorry about all this by the way. Had no idea that jewel was going to attract a jerk like that"

Steven A: -to Blitz- Thanks. Can't say I was expecting it either.

Steven 1: I'll take good care of him. I've been meaning to take better care of myself anyway.

Steven A: ...Har har.

Hospital

Er Gil. you might not want to do th-Gil may see this as he tries interfacing with Xatu's mind-

Xatu: -Blips in-

Tex: *sigh*. Flattery will get you nowhere. C'mon.

-Tex begins to try and lead her to safety, discreetly signaling for his Pokèmon to watch his back-

-Beat-

-Blitz just barely holds back a snicker... Barely-

-He turns to the sudden Xatu, completely oblivious to Gil's experience-

Blitz: "Oh, that was a lot faster than I expected"

Rustboro Hospital

-Gilgamesh blinks-

-He stares in shock at the imagrey before him-

-...Then leans in towards Xatu and whispers-

Gilgamesh: Whatever it is you're tripping on, can I have some?

Near Tex

-The woman follows thinking to her(?)self-

Woman: Well well... Abrasiveness aside, I've once again proved with humans there's a sucker born every minute.

Gilgamesh: I like this guy.

A place where it always rained, every day.

Utter paradise.

At this point, Erin was on a walk with Swampy on the route. She was having quite a swell time with him, but unfortunately (or fortunately? Erin was not quite sure) they had to talk.

Erin: So, uh, hey Swampy? I need to ask you a question.

Erin: Just nod yes or no, OK?

Swampy: <Oh, thank Arceus. I thought for a second you thought you could speak with me.>

Swampy: <Go on.>

Erin: Let's say we were to get into a fight with a powerful Pokemon. Would you be willing to evolve?

Swampy nodded. Erin sighed in relief.

Erin: Great! Let's keep walking.

Erin smiled once again. Hopefully here they could catch some Water-type Pokemon.

Presumably she's gone on a walk with Swampy a few times over the past few days, it's just not much interesting happened, so the slice of life adventures were saved until later. In fact, I seriously doubt we're going on "slice of life adventures" right now.

Feel free to join in if you have some characters that might be hanging out here. I am looking to catch a Marill here, but I can wait until a little bit later than I was planning.

-The attempt at punting Embry back to Phaz partially fails, as Embry is throw but lands in front of Phaz.-

Phaz: Holy! Embry are you okay?

Embry: <Yaaay! It was fun! More!> -he jumps a bit, making happy growls-

Phaz: Urgh... Sorry but you are kinda hurt... I don't know if this was good for you...

-sees Ark holding a tree branch, then the glichy spider charging at her-

Phaz: Quick Ark! Go under the thing!

-he thens grabs another tree branch, longer but slimmer than Ark's, and begin rushing on the thing!-

Phaz: Embry! Distract him with a Scary Face! All thoses days playing Shadow of Monsters will finally pay off!

-he then climbs the thing once it stopped!-

Route 215

Eventually, Erin and Swampy found what they were looking for.

Specifically, a Marill.

Erin: Alright!

Marill: <...A trainer? Yes, finally.>

Said Marill was ready to fight. It used Aqua Tail on Swampy. Swampy is knocked back, the Marill surprisingly strong.

Erin: Swampy, are you alright?

Swampy is about to speak before nodding yes.

Erin: Great! Let's continue. Swampy, use Mud Slap!

Swampy does. The Marill cups its hands over it's face, their vision impaired. After a moment, they attempt to use Rollout... And sadly miss Swampy, who had taken the opportunity to dodge. They went flying into a tree.

The Marill quickly gets back up.

Marill: <...Pretend that never happened.>

Instead of making another suicidal charge, said Marill simply runs up to Swampy.

Erin: Swampy, use Bide!

...As soon as Erin said those words, the Marill halted it's tracks and used Defense Curl. It's vision seemed to be clearing. After a moment or two, Swampy had finished using Bide.

Swampy: <...Of course.>

The Marill, now able to see, used Tackle.

Erin: Swampy, use Protect!

Swampy successfully protected against the Marill's Tackle before following it up with their own.

Satisfied, Erin took out one of her umbrellas. Thankfully, the Poke Ball inside fell straight into her hand, instead of hitting Swampy or something. She threw it. The Pokemon was caught without much resistance.

Immediately afterwards, Erin sent out the Pokemon.

Erin: I'm sorry about that...

Marill: <Is she always like this?>

Swampy: <She's still getting used to the idea that Pokemon are sapient. Not that she did not talk to us before...>

Erin: Hmm, what should I call you?

Marill: <...That reminds me. What is your name?>

Swampy: <...Swampy.>

Marill: <...Save me.>

Swampy: <Is that really that terrible?

Erin: ...Hmm. If you like the name Brook, please nod.

"Brook" nods, surprisingly.

Brook: <...That's not actually all that bad.>

Erin: Great! I was worried for a second there.

Erin, satisfied, walked with Swampy and Brook back to town.
