-She immediately slams the door closed, right as her visitor slips her hand through the crack to keep it open.-

-This has exactly the result you'd expect-

Rose: Ow fuck shit dammit I deserved that fuck

-Diane sighs and opens the door again, allowing Rose to pull her hand back-

Diane: What do you want?

Rose: Um... Apologies, I guess. To you and... uh... Skye, right? That's your girlfriend's name, right? Is she here?

-Diane looks at Rose for several seconds, before sighing again.-

Diane: Give us a minute, she's even less dressed than I am.

-She closes the door, leaving Rose to go red.-

Rose: ...Um. Sorry to interrupt, I guess.

-She clutches her now-throbbing hand-

Rose: Fuck, this is gonna hurt a while.

Rose: Nope. Not one thing. Not even any sort of "familiar" feeling about the stuff I've been told.

Diane: Hrm. I... can't say I can really believe that.

Rose: Honestly, considering the shit I've heard about... Paula... I don't blame you one bit. She did some pretty fucked up shit.

Diane: Yeah. You did.

Rose: Okay, "I" did. And... I dunno. "Regret" isn't the right word, you can't really feel regret for something you don't remember, but... I still feel like I'm responsible for it. And I want to make it up to you.

Diane: ...

-Rose stops, turning Diane around to face her. Diane's entire body is trembling.-

Rose: Heck, if it makes you feel any better, you can deck me in the face right here and now, get that out of the way.

Diane: ...

-She hesitates, balling her fists...-

-But Skye beats her to the punch in the most literal way.-

Skye: ...Thank you for the offer. That felt really good.

-Rose just sorta... sits on◊ the ground,◊ dazed and confused◊.-

Diane: ...Skye, have I told you I love you recently? Because Arceusdamn I love you so much.

-the Florgeses take this barrage of attacks before...dissipating, even the hundreds that were still alive-

Joseph: ...?

-the poppy pollen dissipates, and before them lay ten KO'd Florgeses-

Joseph: What...? Weren't there...?

-After a moment of disorientation, Rose gets up, her nose bleeding.-

Rose: Okay, so, that's out of the way. Unless you still wanted a shot.

Diane: Nah, just seeing you with a broken nose is making me feel a hell of a lot better.

Rose: Phew, okay. Good thing, too, I feel like you could probably shatter my face if you punched me. It's a wonder you haven't accidentally snapped your girlfriend in half...

-She wipes away some of the blood.-

Rose: But apparently she's way stronger than she looks anyway. So, we're even?

-Diane hesitates, then shakes her head-

Diane: ...No, we're not "even".

Rose: ...Fair enou—

-Diane shooshes her.-

Diane: It's just... it's more complicated than that. We will never be even, because you're not the person who I need to be "even" with. You've got no memories, nothing to regret, you don't even connect with the same name. When I look at you, I can't see anything but a cold-blooded, heartless sociopath, because the person who used to be you was exactly the one who tortured and traumatized me, but there's not a single fragment of that person left in you! So I will never be even with who you used to be, and your whole existence as a completely new person only unbalances it further and as amazing as Skye's punch was that just makes things even more unbalanced and aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh!

-She holds up her hands in frustration. Rose cautiously pats her, only to have her hand swatted away.-

Diane: Please don't touch me.

Rose: Sorry, sorry. Um... hm. Hrm. Hmmmmm.

-She ponders to herself.-

Rose: ...Could I buy you two a drink, maybe to help take things off your mind?

Skye: O-oh, er, um, I don't... I don't drink anymore. Sorry. If— if you two want to, though, I could just, uh, make sure you stay safe or something?

-Diane nods slowly-

Diane: ...That might be nice, yeah.

Skye: (...I'm gonna regret this aren't I.)

CU, Meadow

SleepyHead: <...Guessing it just seemed like that many because of the pollen or something.>

Lisa: <Long story short, let's not touch that again.>

-Ren and Mendel exhale as the Flower Killers fade away.-

Mendel: Ugh... That was... extreme.

-Mendel has Pythagoras run a scan and confirms his suspicion.-

Mendel: Those poppies' pollen contain a hallucinogen. I think that, combined with the properties of the Collective Unconsciousness, actually makes the hallucinations into shadows or demons.

Ren: -sighs- Wonderful. Not only do we get to see monsters when we inhale, but then we get to fight our hallucinations too.

Mendel: It gets worse. Pythagoras says that there is no way to cross this field without running into more of those poppies.

-They pause when all is said and done-

Jacob: "... Hallucinogenic pollen? Fun."

Verax: "... And we have to deal with it? Oh boy. Jacob you may wanna hang back a little bit."

Verax: "You aren't good at dealing with mental or sensory manipulation?"

Jacob: "I would agree IF WE WEREN'T ALL HALLUCINATING THE SAME THING."

-Joseph looks momentarily worried, before shaking it off-

Joseph: Ah, it'll be fine. It'll be like one of Tinny's dreams!

-beat-

Joseph: Right. Tinny's my glitchy Vivillon. If she's near you when you're sleeping you start having really whacked-out dreams. Anyway, on we go!

-humming happily, he steps gaily forward-

-Ren follows Joseph as Izanagi floats above Ren. Mendel wills Pythagoras to drop his hard light shield and lower him to the ground while keeping the hard light display active and in front of him as he follows Joseph with the Figurehead floating above Mendel's head.-

ES: It's the Glitch thing, kinda. He got caught up in one with the other two, Tagg did something and... he's been travelling with us for about a month.

ES: So regardless of what happens, you're not surprised.
